Finally, somebody that really knows what has been going on with my treadmill !! I have a Sportcraft TX 400 (bought from Walmart 7-2003) treadmill!!! ❤️ I've been trying to figure this out for YEARS!!!! Thank you so much for your video!!
I have the same Nordictrack 1500! Same problem. I’ve been searching the web for weeks until I saw your video. Thanks so much for doing this. I’m going to give it a try. Those of you asking what size screw he used, he flashed them quickly on the screen: 8 X 5/8 self tapping Lag Screws
OMG, you are my life saver. I've been searching all over for this fix and you nailed it. the yellow ring was lose and spinning.. you should rename this video or add Nordictrack 1500 so that others can find it easily.
I have had this same problem with my True treadmill. It is old enough that they no longer manufacture it or any replacement parts. Have been looking online for a fix and happened upon your vid, very happy I did!! Good explanation of the underlying problem and a creative fix to boot. I'll see what I can come up with on mine as the part looks a bit different. Thank you for taking the time to post your vid!!!!!!!
Your video is helpful! I believe I have the same problem, and like you I looked at the price of a new front roller for about $150, and said no way! I thought about doing the same thing you did. It's a "honey do" that I put off bc I didn't think it would work, but seeing you do it has me thinking, why not? Cheers, bro!
my pulley seems to be out of alignment with the flywheel, so the belt falls off when spinning. I can't seem to slide it in either direction. Any thoughts?
@@aubreydirkes9412 your plastic pulley, I would tap on it with a small hammer or rubber mallet from the side while slowly spinning it to bring it in alignment
I have the same treadmill I need to replace the belt. I can’t figure it out how to take the front roller out to replace the belt. Can you do one video and explain how to take out the front roller? Kindly please
I have an erratic walking belt. Both walking and motor belts are tight as well as no slipping between the drive pulley and the drive roller like this video. So what is wrong? Well seems like I've used a bit much silicone treadmill lubricant and somehow migrated between the belt and drive pulley which was the cause of the slippage. Yeah need to verify before start drilling. Going to clean the belt and pulley or replace the belt.
Great idea....my Sportstech F10 has the same problem....it seems loads of Treadmills do the same plastic pully on a metal bar...designed to fail. And you buy a new front roller or Treadmill!! Not this time!! 😃👍👏👏👏
I did the same repair on a nordictrack elite 7500 but instead I removed the roller and separated the two applied some jb weld put in back together and worked just fine.
You have to take it off, glue it in place, and then you can add the scrws additionnally? The way you fixed it, it's just a matter of time for those screws to wiggle their way out. The slightest motion will jerk them around until they fall out. To counteract, glueing the spindle in place so it doesn't move (the slightest bit) is advised.
I imagine it is on treadmills like this. A plastic pulley seems like a good way for manufactures to keep costs down and ensure people returning to buy another treadmill in a few years.
@@maestro2238 You'll have to open up the hood to identify the source of the problem and confirm if the motor is moving. If it is moving, then it could be a drive belt issue. Inspect it and replace if necessary.
Remove casing with power off try hand losen belt a little and turn back on run full speed with out cover. Replace cover your problem is drive belt has pulled too tight also adjust your running belt too.
Hard to believe that the plastic pulley you fixed has so much load to carry. It should have been made of steel... but that's planned obsolescence for you!
I love this guy , you save my machine and my money

Hey there, I have ordered 8(8mm) x 5/8(16mm) screws but they seem alot thicker than those in the video, is my measurement correct? :)

Had same problem replaced every damn part and the front roller pulley was the last part. Thnx for sharing

Great fix. What size screws?
What size fixings were used?
Just finished trying this....AND IT WORKED! Thanks man, def saved me some $$$
I have the exact same problem! Thank you so much, fixed my issue right up. I’ll use it for a month and update if there’s more issues

Roy hello I have a similar set to my front roller I can’t work out how to take it off to replace the belt. Please help.
Thank you. Quite useful.
Great Fix .... good idea !!! I am just fixing mine, so I am looking for " KNOW HOW " !!
I did the same repair on a nordictrack elite 7500 but instead I removed the roller and separated the two applied some jb weld put in back together and worked just fine.
May I know how easy or difficult is it to separate the two? I was thinking the same thing..to apply some epoxy glue...jb weld sort of.
Have you every replace the walking belt on your machine. I can not remove the front roller to slide the belt off.
I’m sorry I’ve never replaced a belt

Treadmill Doctor recommends the screw fix and claims it has worked for 10 years with no recurring issues. But the glue idea sounds good as well.
The speed and tilt buttons do not work, although everything in the menu works. Where to look for a problem?
Thank you - very helpful.
What size screws did you use for this?
Great fix!! Im having that same problem with my Nordictrack , i wonder if this is a common problem? lol

My treadmill's walking belt is not moving.
The power in it is working, the lights turn on. But the walking belt is not moving.
What do I have to do?
Do you hear the electric motor turning? I’d check the belts and motor. It’s hard to say without actually seeing it.
@@roywalker270 yes i do hear it, but nothing is happening

That’s the truth. They don’t want to hurt future sales!
Nvm I figured it out
