Parting tools have always been a pain in the neck for me. (They seem to always break easily) How are you cutting those angles with a parting tool without breaking it off?
I give the rate of progress constant and slow. if it doesn't work that way, you can also do it by turning the cutting tool upside down and running the lathe backwards.
@@CallutLathe why do you hang that tool out so far? and why such a narrow tool. they make wider tools[stronger shanks also] that pissant 3/16 insert takes forever and deflects too much. the groove can handle a 5/16wide insert.

it works smoothly under 36 tons of pressure. if we make the channels to the same extent as the belt, even if we stretch the belts, it will turn into a waste. the channels must be tight. thanks

That is right. Pulley & pulley groove specification must conforms to IS 3142 & ISO 4183 standards... (or GOST)...
