I can already tell you guys are entering your golden age. Forget about being a presence over the radio. Longer songs and more concept is just what the fans ordered.
I totally agree. I do not think they have ever really been about radio play, or at least in the recent future. Their last album just focused more on the pop and straightforward rock elements they have always embraced.
Oh my sweet baby jesus I just randomly clicked this. Never even heard of Coheed and Cambria before this. Pure fantastic gold. EDIT Thanks y"all for the support it just goes to show how wonderful you all really are as a community and I sincerely LOOOVEE IT lol Welcome Home to any new wanderers.
Everything about this is classic Coheed: progressive structure, multi-album epic storytelling, multi-media story telling but always music-first, running that bass line all over the place, classic passionate Claudio vocals, and lyrics you can feel right away but want to look up to ponder. Was hoping we'd all get back here together. THANKS COHEED!
Someone must have pissed Claudio off. These riffs have a strong hint of angry Claudio. When he's happy, his music isn't as good. When he's angry, we get "Welcome Home" and "No World For Tomorrow".
Tyler Edwards dude. I was at That show at the Avalon ballroom in Boston with Thursday and thrice, now it’s the house of blues. First time I saw them. I think I’ve only missed 2 tours since? This song brings me back to the good old days of IKSSE3

The song says welcome home in the chorus and is not titled Welcome Home. Meanwhile, their song titled Welcome Home doesn’t say welcome home once. Coheed, you make my brain hurt so good!
Anyone else STILL happy that Josh is back? Nobody accents Coheed like he does! I've been playing the guitar for 20+ years now, and I will say, I (secretly) listen to the drumming the most when listening to Coheed. I think he is my favorite drummer, and he deserves WAY more credit...
I am 17 years old again, enjoying life and looking forward to what the future has in store. This will be blaring outta my car as I drive into the night and another adventure. Cheers.
This could be the best opening to a Coheed album ever. Those dark synths are awesome and the narrative pulls you into this world that Claudio has created.
4 years later and this is still one of my favorite openings to any album. The pure chill present in the opening narration, building into this gritty, pulsing coheedism and dropping right into a coursing first verse. As always, Claudio's voice strikes a chord with my entire existence and Josh's drumming hammers me right back to reality. Truly stunning, well done

@danvandam 1900 Goodnight, Fair Lady is so blatantly Thin Lizzy that it can't be anything but an intentional homage. I think it's fair to say they're fans =)
It was hard waking up this morning until my fiancé read the notification. I woke up immediately and told him to play it. This is how I want to wake up every morning! 😍😍😍 There’s no feeling in this world like hearing something new from your favorite band 💜💜💜💜💜
Love that you guys tried a non concept album for the color before the sun. But the concept albums are always so amazing! getting some Afterman vibes from this. Can't wait!
Actually, Color before the Sun was a solo project from Claudio, but he said fuck it and decided to put in on Coheed and Cambria. Claudio has always said that there are no limitations to Coheed and so he proved his words.
Yeah, I never want them to 'force' a concept album if they're not inspired to make one, but I'm really happy to see them getting back to it. The sci-fi narrative, even if I've never fully understood it, has been part of the appeal of C&C for me from the start.
I mean having more layers to something certainly isn't a bad thing :D I love how there is this duality in their music. It has 2 different meaning. Like Faint of hearts is a song about Al the Killer and the love for his gun. In reality, it is a song about having phone sex.
Claudio's voice is on key so great.. The blend of his voice an the instruments is fantastic. Something of pure otherworldly magic within the music. That makes you truly feel it..
This album is an absolute masterpiece. Very rarely do I come across an album where every single track is amazing, from the lyrics to the imagery and storytelling each track is filled with pure passion and emotion; something that very few artists these days can manage to maintain throughout each track or album. I'm so thankful to be a Coheed and Cambria fan right now, and I feel truly saddened for those who have yet to experience the sense of passion and emotion that Claudio brings to every album.
Production wise it sounds more like something that came off of the Afterman, while musically it sounds more like a No World track. I'm not really getting a From Fear vibe at all on this track.
Been listening to Coheed since i was about nine years old. I've gotta say no matter how my music taste has evolved or how I've grown, it always comes back to them it seems. Song after song they never fail to impress. Here's to many years more of fucking insane music. \m/
Lucky bastard, I didnt hear them till I was 17. Then again I was born in 85. But I jumped on board with IKSSE3. I can only imagine being 9 and hearing this band...
Age isn’t a factor here. The older ones had the privilege of years of greatness, but the younger generation gets to binge the shit out of it. The only tragedy here is when people don’t get the chance to hear them.
Within the minds of these musicians I lay my heart. I've always loved that Coheed has always had so much depth in their music. I'm a cherisher of quality, what can I say. Over and out Captain
Saw them at Exit 111, the best show of the entire festival. Gojira close second and I'm a huge gojira fan. Coheed absolutely blew my mind. Heavy, tight, and they looked like they were having a blast.
Welp, looks like it's time to listen to their entire discography for the billionth time again. LOOKS LIKE COHEED'S BACK ON THE MENU, BOYS By the way, did anyone catch the narrator's name?
Claudios piano arrangements never fail to make me well up with emotion and cry, not out of direct sadness but immense emotion.God bless Coheed for their art
@@destinedtogame only asking because i have only ever seen claud play synth and piano and especially when it comes to arrangements involving the story and prelude/interlude tracks going back a long time. Not doubting Josh can do it, i just need to do some more research on piano parts i am thinking of in order to confirm
Kedar Gurjar On the sidewalk near The Boy-scout mémorial statue which was by the south side of the White House. The boy-scout statue was behind us and there were food trucks n stuff parked near the sidewalk.
Metalwolf360 Man that's awesome. I'm originally from DC. Did you try to approach him at all? I woulda had to have shown him my Coheed tat and thanked him for all thr amazing music he's created.
I get you, this is the same I feel with "Coma" from Guns N Roses, is like 10 minutes long and for me is just a normal lenght song, amazing from start to end... Have a nice day.
Thank you, for all of you coming together to create this magnificent song. For the last few months I've hit a rut in my enjoyment from playing guitar. I recently started learning how to play this song, and its revived my enjoyment from playing. I can't play it perfectly yet, but once I can, I feel like I'll be confident in my playing to resume writing again. You are all fantastic musicians and deserve every ounce of praise you get for your talents. Fan since '04, I was 13 when I first heard "33". Crazy to think its been 14 years, but here we are.
My heart. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm thankful to be able to continue to contribute to the artists that were cherished by those departed. May calmness and closure find you soon, Bret.
This may be Coheed's Magnum Opus. It's absolutely brilliant! The songwriting, it's hook after hook! The execution is beyond words. The production/engineering is top notch. It's literally perfect!
You know, I still remember 2008. Heard Coheed and Cambria for the first time, I just couldn't stand them at all. Eventually I heard the instrumental version of Welcome Home in 9, and I was like "Woah, they're that heavy?" (the only few songs I'd heard before that were kind of up beat and happy. But I never stopped and LISTENED to the lyrics then.) I gave them another chance, I stopped and actually started listening. I learned about how they directly tied into the Amory Wars and started reading that. My most reviled band grew on me and became one of my most favorite bands. What songs you're exposed to first can definitely give you a bad or great first impression, I'm glad I heard more from them and was able to appreciate all of their work over time. This song right here, is the first of many new epics to come from Coheed and Cambria. I can fucking feel it.
JIRWINKO's Game Den yeah, that'll do it. Sounds nothing like the rest of their music lmao. It's probably the lightest and poppiest song they ever wrote. I still love it now though. It's a slice of catchy pop fun
I'm 34 and have been a fan of coheed and Cambria for quite a long time. ( Shabutie) and this song has me the most excited I've ever been for a new album. There are no words to describe how amazing they truly are.
God I love the Bass on this album. Zac did such a good job keeping it groovy without over playing. That bass just melts into the melody. Can't wait to see this live.
It just hit me... I was listening to The End Chapter V: On the Brink... "The worlds have now learned, of the worst yet to come." Oh shit... What's going to happen?
@@jojoversus1100 Holy 2 Year Comment Resurrection, Batman! And I know that. I know the story forwards and back. It just transitions nicely as a Foreshadow
@@liamgoodman2352 It does take place after that. "The Great Crash" must be Claudio Kilgannon destroying the Keywork and the Prison Planets are the planets Claudio destroyed. And I would theorize that The Dark Sentencer is Claudio's old homeworld of Hetricus.
10 minutes of pure beauty.
Nik Nocturnal would you ever consider a Coheed cover for your channel?

Beautiful words👏👏👌

"Progressive structure" yeah in like 5% of their songs lol.
I came, I listened, and I came again.
Haha holy shit, you win.

I'm constantly coming. I'm about to go blind.
Lyrics
[Spoken]
Know now there is no time
Space, between the Well and unknowing
Our story starts there
Well into our future, yet far beyond our past
In a romance between a pair of Unheavenly Creatures
The five houses of the Star Supremacy
Have privatized the detention zones of the galaxy
These planetary prison pits were assembled
From the cracked worlds of The Great Crash
Which brings us to our stage
With a Light, we must learn to love the Black...
The Dark Sentencer
It begins with them, but ends with me
Their son...
Vaxus
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Here, emotions behold
You've entered a hell where the devil is made of gold
Please, don't run your mouth
The questions before have no place in this haunted house
Reveal your selfish pleasure
One more time 'round for good measure
In the answer you hold
Time would be better off if our souls had been sold
Here where the Light only dies to remember
In a place where the blind truly can see
[Chorus]
Hear my voice, dearly departed
I'll beg on my knees
It's been my pleasure
To serve your disease
Welcome home
Shed your skin and expose your bones
Take my hand
And follow us into the Black
So far that we can't get back
Here, dig me a grave
And toss in the lives that you can't be bothered to save
With their blood on your hands
You enjoy the sun while you shit in purest sand
Kiss your lover with that filthy mouth, you fucking monster
Here, his evil now gropes
It's caught us off guard with its hands reaching for our throats
Here where the Light only dies to remember
In a place where the blind truly can see
[Repeat Chorus]
There's no telling when the truth is clear
Pay it no mind
Lines were drawn for us
For all sight
In the afterglow
Echoes of time unfold
Give me your word, my dear
And promise you won't let go
It's a shame, I fear
For men to start
We walk their lines
Born to play the fucking part
A shame, I fear
For men to start
We walk their lines
Born to play the fucking part
I fear we've got all we had wanted
Close your eyes and believe
It didn't happen
Now shut your mouth
Beyond your lies
The world knows to stay away from you
And the blood you let run
They march as you lead
We laugh in the sun
Maybe that's all we need
I...
And I...
And I'm sorry...
You can't escape
Here where the Light only dies to remember
A place where the blind truly can see
[Repeat Chorus]
Welcome home
Welcome home...
You're doing important work, son.
All the real credit goes to r/TheFence!
You're my hero

SicklySynester we're the welcomed and diseased! Thank you SynesterSister

I just cant help but think that was a call to the fans saying welcome back to this world after the short break from it that was the last album.
Anyone else listening to this for like the 50th time?
100th time LOL
Me and I've always had really lukewarm feelings about coheed and cambia. What other jams of theirs are in this same vein?

I totally agree with you, is up there with IKSOSE3 and Good Apollo 1
Matt Smith 612 The synths sound pretty 80's lol
Paul Westfall yeah I know 80’s synths were dark. Think stranger things.
Or creep show the movie
Matt Smith 612 Yeah, 80's synth could be dark. I wasn't saying they weren't. A lot of 80's horror movies used synths
*piano plays a nice relaxing melody*
Aw, it's gonna be all happy and whatnot!
*super low piano note hits*

I had very similar thoughts
This made me laugh

Definitely welled up a bit, with a smile plastered semi permanently on my face.
I have only one coheed shirt, today feels like the perfect day to wear it.
Uh no.....I just had something in both eyes.
You're not alone
It's truly a shame that this song isn't getting more recognition out there. The fact it's not in the millions already is definitely a crime :(
they dont have a radio edit for this yet, no way can it get any recognition.
Everyone likes to deny that rock is dying, but the proof is in the Sanchez...
one of the best kept secrets...
I mean having more layers to something certainly isn't a bad thing :D
I love how there is this duality in their music. It has 2 different meaning. Like Faint of hearts is a song about Al the Killer and the love for his gun. In reality, it is a song about having phone sex.
I thought Al just loved white woman?
He LOVED killing them ;)
But he also had a deep love for his gun. That song is literally about him and his love for his gun.
Reading the comments makes me feel at home... I'm one among the fence!!!
Welcome Home ;) get ready for a stellar album
One amongst the fence, brotha \m/

You’ve posted 3 comments and they all made the top grats
Welcome home brother
Claudio's voice is on key so great.. The blend of his voice an the instruments is fantastic. Something of pure otherworldly magic within the music. That makes you truly feel it..
I hope my neighbors like 10 minutes of new Coheed & Cambria. ;)
Everyone deserves the gift of Coheed and Cambria! Especially, classic sounding C&C!! YES!!
They do
that 80's girl not much they can do if they don't so give them a double dose
*10 hours
Yes, please cancel all future plans, it's time to blast new coheed over and over
as is tradition
I paused the show was watching with my girl. She got mad but I told her all she had to do is wait 10 minutes!
It's like a breath of fresh air. This song is amazing.
This album is an absolute masterpiece. Very rarely do I come across an album where every single track is amazing, from the lyrics to the imagery and storytelling each track is filled with pure passion and emotion; something that very few artists these days can manage to maintain throughout each track or album.
I'm so thankful to be a Coheed and Cambria fan right now, and I feel truly saddened for those who have yet to experience the sense of passion and emotion that Claudio brings to every album.
ruclips.net/video/I7UjlrhZ57Q/видео.html a must hear:)
A masterpiece and still not close to their best
@@jacksonbrickmedia939 Absolutely, the best is still to come; this is just one more masterpiece to add to the list 😁.
omg this sounds like a Good Apollo track, this is amazing this is just what i wanted, wow this is so goood
That's what I'm saying I'm like older style coheed? Yes please
I felt some good Apollo and no world vibes
I say it exceeds an Apollo track.
That was what Claudio announced. He said that the new album, end of 2018, was a continuation from the Good Apollo albums!!
I can only imagine being 9 and hearing this band...
yeah my cousin who was about 17 at the time introduced me to them really early and the white stripes in the same day pretty much
Al Goody I was born in 86 and heard them at 19 and have been in love ever since! They make solid, wonderful and bat shit crazy music.
Age isn’t a factor here. The older ones had the privilege of years of greatness, but the younger generation gets to binge the shit out of it. The only tragedy here is when people don’t get the chance to hear them.
@@jesseecadle8016 well said!
This album better have alot of "Ooh wha owws" "Awhoah-ohs"
So far , So good!! YES!!!
*CROWING SCREAM INTENSIFES*
RAAAAAAEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Directed by Christopher Nolan
...Mother Superior?
Good lord it's like all of their albums in one song. Like a celebration of Coheed and Cambria.
WELCOME HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME!
Had to close this on my phone.
Blasting this through my speakers instead. Thank you Coheed for being a part of my life for over a decade.
I can't wait to have the webshop crash on me while I'm trying to order the limited vinyl variant of this album.
SAME
Its funny 'cause its true.
Same.
Those RoadRunner records servers better be ready. Coheed is about to prove once again that their fanbase will destroy any webpage
After all these years these fools still can't get management that can handle their known demand.
Song starts at 0:00
Publio Zinj thanks
Just isn't the same without the buildup. Song shouldn't be butchered with an edit.
@@getschwifty5537 you can't have the dark sentencer without the prologue. It's a law. Look it up.
Thanks man
Appreciate it!
Within the minds of these musicians I lay my heart. I've always loved that Coheed has always had so much depth in their music. I'm a cherisher of quality, what can I say. Over and out Captain
Whats going on, someone hold me Im freaking out. Am I actually listening to a new coheed song right now? I might actually cry.
Who else got their face melted off this tour!?! Best coheed show ive ever seen!!!
Saw them last night in Austin. Opened with this song. Best thing I’ve ever seen/heard.
Saw them at Exit 111, the best show of the entire festival. Gojira close second and I'm a huge gojira fan. Coheed absolutely blew my mind. Heavy, tight, and they looked like they were having a blast.
Today is a good day.
New coheed, and there’s 10 everloving minutes of it!!!
Welp, looks like it's time to listen to their entire discography for the billionth time again.
LOOKS LIKE COHEED'S BACK ON THE MENU, BOYS
By the way, did anyone catch the narrator's name?
It's either Vaxis or Vaxus.
Claudios piano arrangements never fail to make me well up with emotion and cry, not out of direct sadness but immense emotion.God bless Coheed for their art
Those are Josh's
@@destinedtogame got a source on that?
@@destinedtogame only asking because i have only ever seen claud play synth and piano and especially when it comes to arrangements involving the story and prelude/interlude tracks going back a long time. Not doubting Josh can do it, i just need to do some more research on piano parts i am thinking of in order to confirm
I saw Claudio and his family walk by today in DC, then this happens. How awesome?!
Metalwolf360 Where in DC?
Kedar Gurjar On the sidewalk near The Boy-scout mémorial statue which was by the south side of the White House. The boy-scout statue was behind us and there were food trucks n stuff parked near the sidewalk.
Metalwolf360 Man that's awesome. I'm originally from DC. Did you try to approach him at all? I woulda had to have shown him my Coheed tat and thanked him for all thr amazing music he's created.
Kedar Gurjar I didn’t really wanna bother him cause he was with his family and I was shaking at the same time, lol
Metalwolf360 I've met him at three of the eight times I've seen them live. Absolutely humble, shy awesome person
Anyone else find themselves slamming their fists into the air uncontrollably right after he says "Vaxas"?
Rickey Graham lol totally caught myself doing it as I read this
I slam them against a nonexistent table when the “Hey!”’s start up
My fists are in my pants, and I’m a happy man...
Shit! Me too! Lmao!!!
Lol I was banging on the table when i read this.
This is the longest song ever to only feel like it’s 2 minutes long. I wish it went on FOREVER!
I get you, this is the same I feel with "Coma" from Guns N Roses, is like 10 minutes long and for me is just a normal lenght song, amazing from start to end... Have a nice day.
This is so good but you must hear “Whispering Wolf” or “The Wave” by SLT 🎶🐺
Thank you, for all of you coming together to create this magnificent song. For the last few months I've hit a rut in my enjoyment from playing guitar. I recently started learning how to play this song, and its revived my enjoyment from playing. I can't play it perfectly yet, but once I can, I feel like I'll be confident in my playing to resume writing again. You are all fantastic musicians and deserve every ounce of praise you get for your talents. Fan since '04, I was 13 when I first heard "33". Crazy to think its been 14 years, but here we are.
Got any tabs?
Julio. This is for you. I'm sorry you aren't here to listen to this now but I promise we are still one among the fence my brother.
Thank you. I miss my brother so much.
He would love this.
RIP Julio
My heart. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm thankful to be able to continue to contribute to the artists that were cherished by those departed. May calmness and closure find you soon, Bret.
Teared up for you, stranger. I'd party with you at a concert fo sho.
Of the 1000+ songs I listen to, I used to have a hard time picking out an absolute favourite song.
...USED to.
I'm surprised they didn't call it "The Sentencing Sentencer"
hmbarn01 we can’t have the willing well, the writing writer, AND the sentencing sentencer!
Would that make us all The Commenting Commentors?
If the Writing Writer has a Sentencing Sentencer, will they need an Editing Editor for Claudio’s weird ass references?
And The Telling Truth nearly killed me, this is deadly
Will we ever be able to reach The Final Cut of these puns?
Slaaaaaaayyyyys. Coheed season is best season. 🔥🔥🔥🔥💀🔥🔥🔥🔥
You look like Travis .
I love how his music tells a story I listen to Coheed and Cambria every time I draw and make my manga and write my novels
Doctor: you have ten minutes and three seconds to live
Me:
ChicagoMadePunk09 bro no, I could have sex like 5 times in that time.
Why not both?!
"Welcome home, take of your clothes, here comes a loooaadd"
That gives me enough time to dislike this comment and still have 10 minutes to spare.
@@squirtlesquadblastoise7166 hol up
Welcome home boys
Aaron Smith it's great to be back :')
This may be Coheed's Magnum Opus. It's absolutely brilliant! The songwriting, it's hook after hook! The execution is beyond words. The production/engineering is top notch. It's literally perfect!
ruclips.net/video/I7UjlrhZ57Q/видео.html a must hear:)
So many F-bombs! Claud is mad again.. oh god this is gonna be gooood!
Comment of the year :) Nice :)
10 minute Coheed track? Thank you. :)
10 min! I t must be good!
Raimundo255 I just used up all my data for June to get two listens in on my way to work lmao
Fuck it Shawn, it's worth it!!! HOOYEAH!
I feel the need, the need for Heed.
Thank you for this 😂
You know, I still remember 2008.
JIRWINKO's Game Den What was the first song you heard?
Paul Westfall Blood Red Summer
JIRWINKO's Game Den yeah, that'll do it. Sounds nothing like the rest of their music lmao. It's probably the lightest and poppiest song they ever wrote. I still love it now though. It's a slice of catchy pop fun
JIRWINKO's Game Den psp demo disc?
Ursoc yep!
Welcome back, coheed. Can't get enough of that build up. It's a nice change from the same notes that opened every preceding album. Bring it c&c!!!
This is the best Coheed song I think I have ever heard.
This is my first time listening to C&C. Im excited. Ive heard a little of the lore and I love scifi.
Long time fan, this is the best stuff you've put out since Good Apollo. This is a truly amazing song, Eppard is an animal.
I'm not high enough for this. It's been years since I first heard this album and I'm still not ready
This is so good but you must hear “Whispering Wolf” or “The Wave” by SLT 🎶🐺
I cried a little , I love you guys
I would like to preorder the "Take All My Money" deluxe edition.
You guys need to give me a warning before you give me a heart attack. That was amazing.

so i been listening to rap almost my entire life time and when i first heard of coheed and cambria my mind was opened to everything after that.
Gotta listen to all of Coheed. Give Pink Floyd a try too. You haven't lived until you listen to Darkside of the Moon.

@@jojoversus1100 i thought this takes place after NWFT? Could well be that there’s gonna be some universe changing stuff to come!

Time to Jack our Manhammers. Coheed is back! Welcome HOME, Children of the Fence!
