@@smittenthekitteninmittens2679 I've been listening to Coheed from the start, which is why I'm listening in the first place. After I listened to it I formed a thing called an "opinion", and that was that this album is an embarrassment. Why are you here?
As a father with an autistic son... This song means so much to me already. These lyrics really hit home for me. Thank you Coheed, for a beatiful tribute to our beatiful and unique children.
This entire album absolutely OWNS. Every song is so laser-focused, doesn't overstay its welcome, leaves you wanting more. Banger after banger, over and over again, until we land here - where they UNLEASH. I can't stop listening to the whole thing. It might be my favourite album of theirs, TEN ALBUMS in. They are unstoppable.
I will always keep saying this, Coheed and Cambria saved me to no commit suicide in the most darkest hours that I lived added to the fact to get my third child, my beloved Lilith, both gave the enough strength to fight against all the evil that was covering my soul at that time and here I am now listening and living the best time that I ever had!
That's wonderful, glad you're still here. The lyrics in this album have BIG parental feels and make me want to start a family. Coheed has definitely gotten me through some badness.
I have lived this as well. More than once I decided to not take my life because I had coheed tickets and wanted to see them one more time. I'm glad you're still here friend.
I was sitting here listening to this song thinking that "the moment" hadn't happened yet on this album. You know the one. The moment when the music sets you back in your seat. The last breath of air as the earth comes trembling down. Mother superior. Caged, locked in perpetual motion. And it turns out they saved all that magic for this song. Just about moved me to tears. Love this band
I'm in tears. My son attempted suicide a few days ago. We love coheed and this song makes me think of him. God please let him be ok. Thank you for making such incredibly moving music for so many years now. It's gotten me through a lot. Thank you

That transition from “Shine your love on all this crazy, oh…” to the “Who says you gotta wish to get older…” section is so powerful. I also love “I’ll be watching you, armed to the teeth / Don’t you go poking while the lion, he sleeps.” Such a gorgeous example of parental love and protectiveness.
Yup. It's unreal. Moves me to laughter, tears, peace.. I could definitely imagine this playing out load like.. soundtrack to life vibe yk. Loveeee so much.
2:30 is amazing. Maybe the best lyrical breakdown in Coheed's entire discography. The only other ones close are the ending of Gravity's Union and "And she screamed 'Claudio'"

I got the good kind of whiplash from all the directions this song goes in. Its probably one of the most experimental songs they've done and its awesome.
That bass line walkdown from 5:54 into "but life get's tough" is magical. The way it continues from there onward is absolutely captivating and the last section is beautiful. Took a few listens for this one to get to me but it's close to being my favorite on the album now.
Lyrics like these hit so hard after having children of your own. It's hard to describe. The first time I heard it, I was working out and starting crying in the middle of the gym. Lmao. Such an amazing song and album.
I’ve thought for a bit that Coheed really popped off during the pandemic. This solidifies my thoughts. While other public figures complained about or went recluse because of the difficult circumstances, Coheed really made the most out of them. They interacted with the community a ton through social media, gave us an awesome collab when live concerts were not really happening, and now have given us this gem of an album. For many of us who are in our young adult years and have had a difficult quarter life crisis as the pandemic made the years roll by, a song like this, that ends with such an upbeat tune and reassuring message that we will figure things out at our own pace, is kind of exactly what we needed. What a conclusion to an astonishing album! A base of C&C, with notes of an operatic show, a dash of Porcupine Tree, hints of Dream Theater, uproars of A7X, but a totally unique outcome. This and 'Shoulders' are my favourite songs to listen to right now.
The moment at 5:27 is so emotional. The characters have been flailing helplessly between denial, despair, and rage. Finally, Claudio sings, "I'll take you home, this child of ours," his voice trembling with pride.
The definition of a spectacle. The album is great, and this song is a flawless endcap to it. It might also be the first time in my life where I've felt like an album ended on a cliffhanger and then cut to credits during a song, which is unique but extremely cool that they were able to convey that feeling.
It's not a cliffhanger, but the end track of Color Before the Sun did something similar. "Peace to the Mountain" absolutely feels like an end-title crawl after the initial couple minutes, resolving the unspoken story of the album.
This song may honestly be my favorite off the album. The whole album is amazing, and has many bangers, but this one just hits like a heavenly truck plummeting down from the sky
This song and this album. Absolutely amazing. This saga has got me completely hooked. I can't wait to hear the rest of this story. Bad man, Ladders of Supremacy, Beautiful Losers, and this song just completely drove it home for me. I love it.
It's been a long road from those early albums to now... The level of composition and quality remains so unbelievably good, it's like you keep raising the bar. I love the callback to Old Flames at the end. Absolutely Stunning.
There's no way you honestly feel that way. These songs are so disappointing. My fandom doesn't blind me. Comatose and liars club are the only great coheed songs. The rest is intolerable.
Anyone that goes through life without experiencing this song, hasn’t truly experienced life. Thanks for always being there to make life as good as it can be, Coheed!
This is like a movie! I can imagine the characters scenes in my head while listening to this score. Damn Coheed! What did i do to deserve? Deserve this wonderful song
This is the song I am going to introduce to anyone wanting to discover Coheed for the first time. It has every “style” of a Coheed song mixed into one beautiful, perfect symphony. Can’t keep it off repeat!
I'd actually advise against it, I think this song might be too overwhelming for someone who is not familiar with Coheed and this type of music in general. This song does have a lot of different styles, and that's the problem, you put this as the first song for someone and they're not gonna be able to grab any hold of what's happening, unless they're a seasoned Coheed / prog fan. If they are, then go for it, see their face getting slapped by this. Otherwise, ease them into Coheed first, and save this as the ultimate climax I think this song is meant to be. I unfortunately bumped into this new album with this one as the first one I heard and I'm guessing this is definitely the last track, I listened to couple of the other tracks as well but I need to make some time to go through the whole thing tomorrow from start to finish in order. I'm so freaking excited, 4 tracks, and the stupid grin did not disappear even for a second.
This is absolutely AMAZING! Closing in on my favorite Coheed song of all time! This took me back to being that 14yr old kid in 2002 discovering Coheed for the first time. Gave me chills! -THIS- IS COHEED!
"We don't know what to do, we don't know what to do..." just hits new parents different. All that fear and uncertainty that'll you be a good father and that your son will be okay... It just HURTS, in a beautiful way. I can't begin to imagine how this song feels to parents with autistic children. I never believed it was possible to love something SO FUCKING MUCH.
The entire passage between 1:43 and 3:16 is probably the best piece of music I have ever heard. Absolute masterclass in songwriting and guitar work. Astonishing
There has been quite a few times Coheed sends you on a journey at the end of their albums like 21:13, the final cut, and on the brink which are some of my favorites. They got away from that for awhile but I feel like this song slots right back into that role and I'm all for it.
i realized today that there is no word for when the goosebumps get too intense. i needed that word to describe the last two minutes of that monster of a song.
@@SHA8UTIE I've been listening to Coheed religiously for 14 years now. I know every song by heart, could name every album and every song in their discography in order. Each and every one of them have a special place in my heart. This is their best.
No lie, I get chills every time I listen to this one (And I've listend to it 6 times by now lol). The raw power and emotion in the performance is intoxicating. After just the simple taste, I think I'd actually die of sheer joy to get a full on Coheed musical.
Honestly 6:28 feels a little Bohemian Rhapsody, and I kinda hate that I feel that way because I love every bit of this song and Bohemian is...overplayed at best.
I really appreciate the art videos in this Vaxis series. It gives us a lot more of an immersive experience, and helps us put the lyrics together while we wait to get our hands on the comics. Thank you so much for that. Killer album, as always. Love you all.
this song is beautiful. i read alot of comments and, like many, it has such amazing timing in my life, the lyrics just line up so well with current life events im dealing with. its so symbolic and beautiul, i feel like ive been waiting my whole life to hear this song.
What a way to finish the album, absolutely incredible. I love the mix of musical styles across this album, it sounds completely unique but unmistakeably Coheed.
Top of their game right now. What I’ve heard of this album so far is amazing. Been a fan for a while, but it seems like Claudio has “perfected” the style of song writing he has been capable of all these years. This song is a masterpiece and I’m only halfway through hearing it right now for the first time.
Time (time) Time has a funny way of playing jokes on you While you're waiting for what you think you know Will happen next is never what you could've come to expect And so it goes, ooh and so it goes Deep inside his eyes I see myself As I wonder who he'll turn out to be Is that a question that needs answering right now? And so concludes this chapter As my parents unravel the entangled threads of my reality Not of design but by accident My perception in question As I leave the infinite for the present And rise a window of the waking mind Here's a simple story And I hope I tell it well Of a boy locked in a place His mind, the very cell Imprisoned with his wild visions Of every time in space There's no one in this world quite like him The thing that complicates it Is his parents and who they are The law they made to run from Beyond the house of the stars The birth must be in secret So no prying eyes can see There's no one of this world quite like him Our pride and joy are you there? Are you in there, safe and sound? Tell us what you need, so we can help you We don't know what to do We don't know what to do Patronizing doctors with their diagnostic leads Carry on your query It's blood the boy, he bleeds But you can't see him like you So a monster he must be There's no one in this world quite like him Vaxis son Do you hear us? Do you feel us? Vaxis, Vaxis, Vaxis Vaxis, can you see us with your eyes? Vaxis, can you hear us with your ears? Is this right to calculate his moments? To find what's normal is being normal What's right? What's right? Can you feel it? No Can you hear it? No Time, I'll take you home This child of ours I'll take you home With all my love I'll give you the world And keep no secrets from you So life gets tough But it's no excuse or your fault My brightest star Shine your light on us all Am I wrong or did he save me? Shine your love on all this crazy Who says you got to rush to get old? Figure it all out or you'll be left in the cold Little one, let them, don't follow, just set them free You can do it on your time So you know I'll be watching you, armed to the teeth Don't you go poking while the lion, he sleeps My boy, it's okay to cry I'm telling you time Who says you got to rush to get old? Figure it all out or you'll be left in the cold Little one, let them, don't follow, just set them free You can do it on your time So you know I'll be watching you, armed to the teeth Don't you go poking while the lion, he sleeps My boy, it's okay to cry Time
This one absolutely throttled me the entire time, just had me hooked from beginning to end. I know Coheed will ruin me when I listen to his longer pieces like this but I can never fully prepare myself for how much it truly matches me where I am in my life.
The thing i like about this song mostly is the fact at the end it loops back to the first song of the album so having the whole thing in repeat is nice.
Hearing this song live was such a treat. The slightly odd pulse of the bass drum during those verses beating into your bones. And at 5:00 when everything is happening all at once and out of this wall of overwhelming sound, you hear Claudio's voice: "CAN YOU FEEL IT?" It was probably one of my most memorable moments at any concert
I like to think im a snob when it comes to covers, but if I had one wish for a cover album performed by Coheed and Cambria, it would be Pink Floyd: The Wall. 😍
This... it's beautiful. Words fail me, and cannot do this justice. The orchestral outro of Old Flames really topped this off. I've no other words at all. Just listen.
All the different parts of this song takes you on such a journey, the beautiful piano work is so uplifting and a joy to listen to over and over. I’d like more of this mixed in for vaxis 3
This was so amazing live with the Quintillian Speaker display in the background. Was at the show at the Complex with the swarm of bugs rofl. You guys are legends. Been listening and going to Coheed concerts since 2005 or so. This WotWM tour was powerful, more like an experience than a concert with all the effects tying into Act II of the Vaxis story. Can’t get enough of the journey, and look forward to the future!
Oh dude I was there as well lol. That part at 5:00 was a cool experience live, I felt like I was being crushed by the wall of sound, and Claudio screaming "CAN YOU FEEL IT?" Such a kickass concert. It's sad that Mothica didn't get to play, and even sadder that for the life of me I can't remember the other band that opened 😂

This is the song I am going to introduce to anyone wanting to discover Coheed for the first time. It has every “style” of a Coheed song mixed into one beautiful, perfect symphony. Can’t keep it off repeat!
Depends on the person I'd say. I love the idea though. My uncle would love this, he introduced me to Rush.
Dude. Me too.
I can tell part III will be like this song and I'm so excited! I just hope it's not 4 more years until then!
Beginning of the song giving off wonderboy vibes. Middle of song giving off city hall vibes
Astonishing
All he said.. was "HERE'S A SIMPLE STORY! And I hope to tell it well..."
And I got fucking chills...
Well, I think we can all agree he told it well :D
There has been quite a few times Coheed sends you on a journey at the end of their albums like 21:13, the final cut, and on the brink which are some of my favorites. They got away from that for awhile but I feel like this song slots right back into that role and I'm all for it.
I am weeping at the instrumental arrangement at the end, it just HITS it's so beautiful
Holy hell. Just discovered this. I havent listened to Coheed in more than a decade and this song just wrapped itself up in my soul.
You have some catching up to do. Welcome home!
This song has brought tears to my eyes 4 separate times 🥺 it is beyond words I can string together to explain. Best song made in years period
The concept songs from Coheed will always have a special place in my heart.... forever C and C.
i realized today that there is no word for when the goosebumps get too intense. i needed that word to describe the last two minutes of that monster of a song.
One of my absolute new favorite Coheed tracks. This has broken my top five, maybe top three
This song is such an experience. Love the orchestration, gives me strong dear hunter vibes. Love it!
Yes! Coheed’s “A Night On The Town”!
Yes!
Uncontroversially the best song they have ever released. The gap between this and their next best song is absolutely cavernous. Speechless.
Absolutely correct.
Deserves to be in the prog ballad pantheon
It's an amazing song but that is a pretty big statement to make...
@@SHA8UTIE I've been listening to Coheed religiously for 14 years now. I know every song by heart, could name every album and every song in their discography in order. Each and every one of them have a special place in my heart. This is their best.
NAH.. that's a stretch.
@@Fullcollapse1 It's not really. I would contend any song you can come up with isn't as good as this one.
No lie, I get chills every time I listen to this one (And I've listend to it 6 times by now lol). The raw power and emotion in the performance is intoxicating. After just the simple taste, I think I'd actually die of sheer joy to get a full on Coheed musical.
2:30 that bust in to the story is so dope. They got so creative this album
I've always said Coheed was so orchestral because of all the many moving parts and shifts in every song they make. But that last part; chef kisses.
We witnessed a historic moment in progressive rock with this one, fellas. 5:00 and 6:28 are both something else.
Honestly 6:28 feels a little Bohemian Rhapsody, and I kinda hate that I feel that way because I love every bit of this song and Bohemian is...overplayed at best.
I hear a lot of Haken - The Mountain in this, in a great way.
All I want is for the next 3 albums in this pentalogy to release so they can start making movies on them.
I really appreciate the art videos in this Vaxis series. It gives us a lot more of an immersive experience, and helps us put the lyrics together while we wait to get our hands on the comics. Thank you so much for that. Killer album, as always. Love you all.
this is the best song and claudio if your reading please make this the vibe for the next album
this song is beautiful. i read alot of comments and, like many, it has such amazing timing in my life, the lyrics just line up so well with current life events im dealing with. its so symbolic and beautiul, i feel like ive been waiting my whole life to hear this song.
What a way to finish the album, absolutely incredible. I love the mix of musical styles across this album, it sounds completely unique but unmistakeably Coheed.
This song reminds me of Tommy, such an epic ballad guys, I love listening to every second of this album!
This was the absolute PERFECT way to end the album. Absolutely beautiful work of art. Thank you for this.
Always one among the fence.
SO LIFE GETS TOUGH, BUT ITS NO EXCUSE OR YOUR FAULT. Thank you Coheed.
Rock opera glorious to the highest levels..
This song twists and turns so many ways.. beautiful.
To Claudio and the guys this is beautiful and it brings a tear to my eye. Love the call backs. You told it well!
My god this song is something unbelievable.
Top of their game right now. What I’ve heard of this album so far is amazing. Been a fan for a while, but it seems like Claudio has “perfected” the style of song writing he has been capable of all these years. This song is a masterpiece and I’m only halfway through hearing it right now for the first time.
What a freaking beautiful masterpiece! Wow! You have outdone yourselves with this one for real!
Time (time)
Time has a funny way of playing jokes on you
While you're waiting for what you think you know
Will happen next is never what you could've come to expect
And so it goes, ooh and so it goes
Deep inside his eyes I see myself
As I wonder who he'll turn out to be
Is that a question that needs answering right now?
And so concludes this chapter
As my parents unravel the entangled threads of my reality
Not of design but by accident
My perception in question
As I leave the infinite for the present
And rise a window of the waking mind
Here's a simple story
And I hope I tell it well
Of a boy locked in a place
His mind, the very cell
Imprisoned with his wild visions
Of every time in space
There's no one in this world quite like him
The thing that complicates it
Is his parents and who they are
The law they made to run from
Beyond the house of the stars
The birth must be in secret
So no prying eyes can see
There's no one of this world quite like him
Our pride and joy are you there?
Are you in there, safe and sound?
Tell us what you need, so we can help you
We don't know what to do
We don't know what to do
Patronizing doctors with their diagnostic leads
Carry on your query
It's blood the boy, he bleeds
But you can't see him like you
So a monster he must be
There's no one in this world quite like him
Vaxis son
Do you hear us?
Do you feel us?
Vaxis, Vaxis, Vaxis
Vaxis, can you see us with your eyes?
Vaxis, can you hear us with your ears?
Is this right to calculate his moments?
To find what's normal is being normal
What's right? What's right?
Can you feel it? No
Can you hear it? No
Time, I'll take you home
This child of ours I'll take you home
With all my love I'll give you the world
And keep no secrets from you
So life gets tough
But it's no excuse or your fault
My brightest star
Shine your light on us all
Am I wrong or did he save me?
Shine your love on all this crazy
Who says you got to rush to get old?
Figure it all out or you'll be left in the cold
Little one, let them, don't follow, just set them free
You can do it on your time
So you know I'll be watching you, armed to the teeth
Don't you go poking while the lion, he sleeps
My boy, it's okay to cry
I'm telling you time
Who says you got to rush to get old?
Figure it all out or you'll be left in the cold
Little one, let them, don't follow, just set them free
You can do it on your time
So you know I'll be watching you, armed to the teeth
Don't you go poking while the lion, he sleeps
My boy, it's okay to cry
Time
The amount of musical wickets this hits while maintaining a sense of song is unreal
Best song they’ve ever made
Song of the decade. It's only 2022 but I've called it, sorry.
You are underestimating our Claudio.
@@DarkeLourd vaxis 3 might have it
my first thought after finishing this song is that it's THE fucking Bohemian Rhapsody of all Coheed. holy shit
coheed has at least 1 "bohemian rhapsody" in each albums all unique to each other and other songs
Someone needs to get these dudes the make full length soundtrack to scifi movie
I like to think im a snob when it comes to covers, but if I had one wish for a cover album performed by Coheed and Cambria, it would be Pink Floyd: The Wall. 😍
Holy fuck I, NEED THIS
I haven't Hit the replay button on a song so many times since the crowing. This is coheed at their best.
This... it's beautiful. Words fail me, and cannot do this justice. The orchestral outro of Old Flames really topped this off. I've no other words at all. Just listen.
I'm really excited to see where this story's going.
All the different parts of this song takes you on such a journey, the beautiful piano work is so uplifting and a joy to listen to over and over. I’d like more of this mixed in for vaxis 3
So without a doubt Coheed is the greatest artist to grace the surface of our generation hands down. We don't deserve them. 🤍
Absolute game changer.. the last minute and a half literally makes ya cry. Great addition to an already untouchable library.
I seriously cannot get over how good this track is. It honestly feels like they managed to condense an entire album into a single 8:38 song.
Absolutely goddamn beautiful.
