Merv Watson Claudio is very common here in Philippines. I want my son name to be unique. So Coheed is my best bet. It may be common there but its very unique here. :)
There's a definite 80's feel to the song. Maybe the production value is supposed to have an 80's sci-fi feel too? Think about when these guys grew up and what influenced them. People need to chill about the effects I think its super charming.
It's no where near as good as cheesy 80s sci-fi b-movie feel. Go back and watch some 80s sci-fi like Escape from New York. This is more like 2010s everyone has a DSLR and is a filmmaker, really bad student film feeling to it. It's awful. If the band wanted cheesy 80s sci-fi, the filmmakers failed them big time.
To those complaining about the makeup: I personally feel like that is the EXACT look they were going for -- Like a REALLY cheap and cheesy scifi movie.
I mean, If it WASNT on purpose yes, I can absolutely agree with you -- but with a band that has had WAY more complicated effects (Here we are Juggernaut) I feel like this wasn't a mistake. Especially with the line "Oh pretty angel swinging from your cable". idk I may be overthinking that but I dont think so -- idk.
I don’t want to be super negative about it. I like the video overall. While the video for Here We Are Juggernaut certainly has some more in depth effects and polish to it, it definitely doesn’t show us an example of them having access to someone proficient in SFX makeup. I can’t think of a video from them that really does. Why then would we assume that it’s a choice here? They bought a cheap prosthetic and applied it poorly.
He finally found a way to put the electronic ideas behind "Prize fighter inferno" together with the actual coheed prog rock sound. Bravo, My Dear Claudio. Bravo.
Its almost like people are too retarded to realise that it was intentionally made on low budged and here I thought it was obvious. Sorta like turbo kid.
I'm digging the video. Not sure why people we're expecting some Marvel-movie level budget for a music video. It's still better than the 99% of pointless music videos out there with girls just dancing in a club.
Bryan Foster they posted the video on the marvel website, so people were expecting marvel quality. However, they are now on roadrunner records which is a big step from their previous indie label's.
The amount of people flexing about their coheed love is hilarious. I love it. We are all a big happy family and if you found them this year or at the beginning it doesn't matter the truth is that coheed could be our generations greatest band (closely tied with The Dear Hunter of course) :p

She was the quiet one and I had the mouth
Until she fell to me
We escaped through the alley in the back
Judge told me, "Creature, don't you dare go back!"
But I couldn't dodge the ringing in my head
The lonely, subtle voice, through the echoes as it said:
"Please don't leave me here, my love"

Oh, pretty angel, swinging from your cable
I fear, my dear, the end is near
So run, run, run, run, run like a son of a gun

To obey and follow to the letter
I fear, my dear, the end is here
So run, run, run, run, run like a son of a gun

There was something I forgot to tell her then
Between the kiss and "knock 'em dead, kid"
"There will be no other like you"
Now I can't keep the guilt from my heart
The stuttering emotions keep me fixed to fall apart
And I know I'm leaving all this sweat in our bed
A broken heart bleeding with a gun to my head
[Chorus]
Oh, pretty angel, swinging from your cable
I fear, my dear, the end is near
So run, run, run, run, run like a son of a gun
Did anybody teach you better?
To obey and follow to the letter

To me this is the perfect song for starting to move on right after a breakup. Setting the lyrics aside for a moment, the music alone has this perfect feeling of like, the end of one journey and the start of another. And the track's place on the album is appropriate to that end as well. Even though it's the second song following the prologue (almost all Coheed albums make up a unified narrative story), it's really the true opener of this album's story, taking place after the Amory Wars saga, where we are introduced to our characters, which are the real hearts of the story. The Dark Sentencer introduces the setting. The intro reminds me of the beginning of a SNES RPG like the early Final Fantasy games. Going back to the breakup stuff as potentially applied to the real life of the listener, the lyrics talk about the end of something which acts as a call to adventure (the beginning of any hero's journey). God I love Coheed.

My daughter loved feathers when she was 1 Year old... Now we are listening to this track after 11 years 🤗
The best Heed song I've heard in years. Welcome back, boys.
Darth Pili you did hear the dark sentencer, right?!? It was much better than this one.
opinons are a bitch like that right?
Now this is Claudio’s Voice in its purest form! I’ve literally been waiting all my life for this!! 🖤💙💜
Claudio is reminding me of Holly from Red Dwarf in this so much! ha!
Well i mean you need an IQ of 6000 to make such amazing music
Vickyy Music red dwarffffffff hyppeeeeeee love you vickyy
does that make the tooth guy Rimmer and the other Lister?
I felt the Zordon Mode. 🙃
Oh gawd here comes the ear worms for the next few days. Goodjob coheed. Masterpiece of everything theyve learned.
I love the cheesy 80s sci-fi B-movie feel to this
djoey thallkin this is more like late 90s ripoff of bad 80s.
I get a strong "the last dragon" vibe from this!
SONG OF THE YEAR I AM CALLING IT
pressed like before music started
Their music has been and is so powerful it brings me to tears when I'm jammin' them...C&C forever.
I liked it a lot. Wish there was more clearer scenes with the flashbacks tho. :)
Welcome Creature... To the Dark Sentencer.
To those complaining about the makeup: I personally feel like that is the EXACT look they were going for -- Like a REALLY cheap and cheesy scifi movie.
FxG Scrubby Peter or 80s type scifi with the 80s game sample, its soo good and nostalgic
ThatZombieDude low budget sci-fi and high budget low-fi. So fuckin' good!
I completely disagree. The majority of this looks respectable. Why can’t we just admit that portion of it is poorly done?
Bravo.
He also did so with a lot of songs on the Afterman...
Love how aesthetic fanboys are totally missing the point. Welcome back boys!
Ikr its like they don't understand the nostalgia yet still want the old coheed???
Make up your minds already! Haha
No shit lol. Soon as I seen it it was "fuck yeah, throwback" feel.
lol @ everyone bitching that this doesn't have the production value of a Marvel movie.
Its almost like people are too retarded to realise that it was intentionally made on low budged and here I thought it was obvious. Sorta like turbo kid.
OH MY EARS!! This is just BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
I'm digging the video. Not sure why people we're expecting some Marvel-movie level budget for a music video. It's still better than the 99% of pointless music videos out there with girls just dancing in a club.
Bryan Foster, you understand. It's good that some people still have taste. Carry on, my good man.
Thank you for actually getting it, sir!
Ocelot A Favor House Atlantic.
Bryan Foster they posted the video on the marvel website, so people were expecting marvel quality. However, they are now on roadrunner records which is a big step from their previous indie label's.
Bryan Foster are you suggesting the thong song video is anything less than a masterpiece?
Love this video....and this world.......
I feel like part of the charm of this video is the 5$ budget.
The amount of people flexing about their coheed love is hilarious. I love it. We are all a big happy family and if you found them this year or at the beginning it doesn't matter the truth is that coheed could be our generations greatest band (closely tied with The Dear Hunter of course) :p
