Zach - I am a 63 year old person that always wanted to play the piano. Your simple way of taking small pieces at a time really works for me. Also, explaining music definitions in simple terms is very helpful.

HOw is it going with your piano playing? Your comment was 2 years ago but it inspired me 11/20/2023 and I am 53 years old. Are you still playing? Hope all is well and you are playing the hard ones.....I am getting there and this channel is a great teacher for learning piano or just improving on technique.

I get it. I used to play piano a lot, I even taught beginners when I was in high school. Then life got busy with a job, a family, a house and all life brings. I didn't play as much and now I am very rusty starting almost from scratch. When I learned piano as a kid, I learned how to play by reading sheet music. I never learned music theory and always wanted to. Now I am 63, semi-retired and getting back to the piano playing I have always loved. I am so happy to be learning about the chords and piano theory. I think I am really going to enjoy this. Thank you so much!!!

I literally bought a keyboard off marketplace yesterday, I’m fortunate to already be retired, so I have been spending hours on it, I can’t believe howeasy you make this!

Toru Syed. Zach is a great teacher but he has expenses too in teaching for free. So we should take not only his "Free courses" but the other courses he teaches which are not free. He is great in those courses and takes you step by step. It it much faster than taken the "free courses" If you can't afford it watch his "free courses". But if you can, help him out as you would also be helping yourself.

All my life, I've been wanting to play piano, since I was a little girl...I've taken lessons and lessons and lessons and to this day all I can remember is Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge and the inside is F A C E ... that's all I ever got from those lessons...I started last January to follow lessons on RUclips and I somehow started getting the jest of it - UNTIL 2 days ago, when I finally bumped into your site...OMG, it's all making sense, it's all coming together...WHY???? When I did search for beginner organ your course Kept popping up, and caught my eye. Very impressed with the course and it has helped to unlock understanding of chords
Have had my organ awhile wasn't motivated several keys were dead in the water but we're my excuse for not trying, did diy look Inside organ reconnected 1key blew all dust out on other three, problem solved..
It's been 3days now, the cheat sheets caused me to look closer and practice.
On the black keys notice some chords same black key can use the note ahead are afterwards in minor, chords using your formulas.

Thanks Zach, I am classically trained, but I want to be able to play at my church that probably uses lead sheets or something similar for contemporary worship songs. Your videos are really helping me learn what I need to so I can play in this new way. I got it :)

I like your enthusiasm, and the idea of "BOOM", excellent idea. It makes counting the notes much easier.

Great teaching Zach. I have had to run through the lesson several times but it's becoming clearer.

Zach, thank you very much for your video and for clearly telling us how to count the Major & Minor Chords, and prepared a cheat sheet for all of us. You do a great job for all of us.

Thank you for these amazing videos! I am learning so much in such a short amount of time! I just hope learning to "cheat" right off the bat won't cause me to learn bad habits and make it harder to learn the correct placements of the fingers for the chords. You are an amazing teacher and make this stuff crazy easy to learn! Thanks for helping me learn an instrument for the first time! Always wanted to learn to play an instrument and now i can! 😃 thanks again! Seriously by the end of the videos you really feel like you got this 👍

Zach you are amazing. I've played guitar for a while now, and always wanted to learn the keys. You explain everything perfectly and in multiple different ways. in one day my music theory knowledge grew so much. I'm super stoked about learning to play this instrument! Thank you so much for the wonderful work you provide!

@@burnetteanderson1348 Keep watching it over and over again and I'll get easier. You won't find any teacher who makes the piano as simple as Zach. Don't give up. Keep on listening, watching and playing and you will do OK. Good luck.
