      Hello there.
So, have you mastered the drumming rudiments and are you able to perform a proper 2 stroke drum roll?
Do hope you don't mind me asking, but had practise pad and sticks, DVDs, tutorial books, a couple of lessons and practiced for eons. Had a kit and COULD learn grooves and beats.
      Even John Bonham/Bernard Perdie shuffle!
However, ultimately gave up due to failure to satifactorily master the rudiments.
      Regards -
      Mike

Dude! Fantastic video and series! I'm a home general contractor of 25 years with sausage fingers and never played a musical instrument in my life until now. I received an old, beat up piano as partial payment for some work and decided to finally give it a try. Your videos, printable aids and a little dedication have led me to actually making music!! I'm a super slow study, but you took the mystery, wonder and dream of piano playing and made it understandable, achievable and FAST!! WAY TO GO!!!!!

I've been learning piano for the last 11 months, and have learned to play with both hands, too. I discovered your Four Money Chords yesterday, and found them straightforward, but such a welcome change to the normal tunes that I've been playing. Tell you what, Zach, the difference is you.... you and your enthusiasm for what you do!! Now I'm looking at the Simple-but-mesmerizing-piano pattern, and it's such a blast to pick up on an entirely new challenge. At age 73, I wish I had longer fingers, but it's great exercise to get my clumsy hands working! Good on you!

you are the best piano teacher for beginners that I EVER HEARD ABOUT. It is like piano for completely dummies (just like me) and it rly works. I tried everything else and i didnt have ANY coordination.
Now I finally could pass the stuck phase that i was with the piano. I couldnt learn it at all, but your lessons guide me through it and kept me motivated, it was super helpful, I did them in 2018, im back now to try more of your amazing tutorials and methods, because im feeling stuck again. I have hands coordination now, I know scales and chords, im looking for improvisation and also ill try to get better at rhythms and patterns with the chords, i do like this video tho, it seems "easy", but you did put it in such nice way increasing the difficult that makes me wanna try the entire lesson.
    * Ill put the time that i took to learn once I try the lesson
to finish i just want to say thank you for your videos and all the effort you put on it believing anyone can play the piano. I do love your methods

Been playing 3 months (self taught) took 10 mins for me. Sounds like bragging but not lol. I learnt (and still remember) how to play a few songs as a kid but that's it.
I think having the blessing of being able to playby ear helps a lot. Actually there an app that can train you too play by ear. Well worth it 👍🏼
This channel is unbelievably good, I mean I feel I should be paying to watch these vids 👌🏼

This is awesome!! I learned in about 45 minutes then took a break for an hour an for some reason played better the second time but, I'm a boomer and I only started this last weekend so Im pretty slow 🐌 This is a awesome lesson and very useful. The fact that it uses simple progressions instead of trying to play each measure note for note ( which is hard and quite frankly, frustrating for me ) makes me feel a greater sense of accomplishment and sounds great. Thank you so much for the lesson and the cheat sheet 🙂👍

First part I learned right away but then I have experience as I am a voice teacher and performance coach and I studied music in college. Zach, I have been following you for the past 2 years now, you are so awesome and an exceptional✨teacher! I am even one of your piano university students, but I must confess that due to some ‘life’ stuff over the past 2 years I haven’t been able to put my focus towards my music and becoming a better pianist, etc. However I am happy to say ...to use the Johnny Cash song “I can see clearly now the rain is gone...” and so I came here to RUclips this morning to look up your ‘secret sauce pattern’ that I had ‘accidentally’ come across a month ago while watching your amazing tEDTalk (people! Go check it out RIGHT now it’s SO inspiring!) but found myself instead here on THIS lesson. I just wanted to say...YOU ROCK⚡️ and thank you for being a TRUE-to-the-heart💘 exceptional teacher and Super Human! And btw... your periodical text messages with videos to inspire us to practice are working.. and you always bring me a smile and a chuckle! Ty!🤗

I started playing by ear with just the major cords of this progression for the song “Stand by me” by b.b. king, when I was 10. I’ve since used variations in right hand playing style for those chords and applied it to many synthesizer jams but never ventured past that with the minor cords. Really appreciate this video. I was looking for something slightly outside my comfort zone with that progression that would give me more options and this was right up my alley. Thanks again!

Thanks to you ! Comment on an old video as a beginner who started one week ago keyboard (got some musical background behind me, i play guitar, didgeridoo and handpan but without any knowledge in music theory and getting stuck in the learning process) and decided to learn som music theory before really getting into it. I should admit that it is very easy to understand and starting to play by self when all the pieces clicks together. Even without much practice, the lesson is understood in a matter of minutes. And i can also apply it to guitar, which a huge benefit.
I'll be able in a near future to speak properly the music language.
Don't skip theory and just experiment with this and you will have fun very quickly. With any instrument. And take the time to find an instrument that fits you. You'll learn so much asside the techniques.
Thanks again for the videos :)

I am a bloody beginner and played the guitar once (but at some point I gave it up... and yes, I was thinking about changing the instrument earlier)
I just tried out the first chords and it gave me hope cause I love music but I just failed in doing what I want and now I think I could try another instrument and learn piano and keyboard.
After that very first video I managed to do some other chords from another video (I mean "the sad, catchy, road" one).
Now I looked to this song and yes I paused for now cause I have to bring it together first (and I feel like my hands are not into it right now)... but I'll try it tomorrow. I am motivated and I think in around a few days to a week I could manage it.
I am not good in reading notes and so I have to thank you that you enable people like me to make good sounds too.

THIS WAS AWESOME. I haven't taken piano lessons since I was a kid. I didn't enjoy it very much. Not because of my teacher, who I loved and appreciated, but because I was forced to learn it. I've gotten the learning bug for piano now and figured, "If I can just learn the various chords, that will get me further than I could ever imagine". I went through a couple of videos by different people, and then landed on this one. After this one instruction video, I just played through all of LET IT GO. Slowly and a bit choppy, but I did it. HA! I'M SO EXCITED. Thanks so much, especially for the cheat sheet! I just loved this!

It took me less than 45 minutes to learn the first lesson. However, I haven't perfected it yet. Also, my challenge is playing soft. I will get it soon. Margaret

Great video!! Super informative and easy to follow, I’ve been wanting to play piano again, I had lessons when I was a kid but I hated it. My teacher was so mean and it was all play by ear and no sheet music. She would hover over me and poke me with a sharp pencil if I messed up, i knew like twenty songs, but as soon as my mom said I didn’t have to take lessons from her anymore, I literally forgot how to play, like a mental block... I moved to Fort Collins Colorado a year ago and they have pianos placed all over the city in the summer, I’d love to sit down and make some music. I’ll check out your website too, thanks my dude!! You make it easy to understand!

Hey Zack, great job. I just wanted to point out that in the guitar tab (at 12:09), you'll notice that the capo is on the 1st fret. Therefore while playing in the Key of G on the guitar with the chords that appear in the tab you are actually playing in the Key of Ab (Fm) (since the capo shifts everything up half a tone), which is the key the original song is recorded in. Just wanted to make that clear in case beginner piano players wonder why playing the Em on the piano doesn't sound the same as the actual song (where it's actually an Fm).

I helped friends to move piano and left alone whit it sitting so decided to open RUclips. This is first video and it took about 10 minutes to learn that part where you say to comment. I’m no musician and it’s sketchy, but it’s really easy doable ;)

Took me a half hour or so to get my fingers coordinated together to get through it once without a mistake. Then after one round of it all, my right hand fingers just freeze like they suddenly forgot what to do. LOL. I'll let it rest until tomorrow's session and see if my fingers don't smarten up a bit overnight. I'll have to work on this lesson for a few days to get it down. My brain goes, "Hey, I get it! That seems soooo easy!" Then my fingers go, "Nope. Not gonna let you off that easy. We all like to do our own thing!"
