Thanks Zach, for the video my wife and i are in our late 60's. Both of us never played the piano before. But this late in life i thought i would never play but my wife got sick and she needs to do things that she never done so her brain can create new pathways for learning. One of the things she can do to help her is play music. like the piano. So here we are I am her coach in trying to help her in something i never done. So i am slow but i am trying. Also i am not good on this computer eather. I just love your playing and my wife likes it too. So thank you for trying to help us. Tom & Genevieve.

Hey Tom & Genevieve, wow such a great story. I applaud you for helping teach her - I know there have been a lot of studies that suggest playing an instrument can help keep the brain working and learning, so it's a great thing you're doing. So glad you're enjoying the lessons, and keepup the good work

Holy Crap! I can't believe how easy you made this. You are a great teacher. You are right, other on-line piano teachers show the chords really fast and then say now go do that. Well, I can't go do that. I even paid a lot of money for a year of one of those courses trying to learn to do this and did not learn a thing. Got very frustrated and quit, then I found you. You know how to actually teach, that is a gift not everyone has. I now attend your Piano University classes and am learning so much and the cool thing is the lifetime membership was cheaper than a year with the other one. I just went and played what you showed in this video and I am extremely impressed with myself, it sounded like I knew what I was doing... and the best part is I did know because you broke it down for me. Thanks and looking forward to part 2!

I'm just starting out playing the keyboard. I've watched a lot of videos on this subject. On youtube there are probably 5 good teachers. This is one of the best guys to learn from. The best part is you're not boring. You don't drone on and on. You stick to the fact that you're teaching newbs. I don't need to be drilled in music theory. I have books to read about that.

Not only is your piano explanation clear, your accent is so easy for me to follow. You see, I'm from Argentina, and I learned to hear a British accent, that's why it is sometimes difficult for me to understand the different accents of the United States. But your English is like a glass of water to me. As we say here in Argentina Thank you very much for being like you are!
I also want to add that your voice is so full of energy and passion that it motivates just listening to it

Hi Zach I just purchased a keyboard and just starting to play. I am a drummer in my younger days And am also learning bass guitar. These are the benefits of having a room open up when your son moves out to make a music room!
I am so enthralled with the sound of piano notes and chords it is actually soothing to hear those
Sounds come out.and really enjoy how you make so easy to understand. Especially chunking.

To the people who are watching this, you will never find a teacher as good as Zach. Most people teaching in the internet know how to play but that fact does not translate to knowing how to teach. Zach is a great piano player and a tremendously gifted piano teacher, he really knows how to teach.

    • @becomeapianosuperhuman6765
      @becomeapianosuperhuman6765  3 года назад +1

I don't at the moment!! But I can come out with some soon. Here's a quick overview:
Maj7 chords is a major chord, with a major third on top. So a C Maj7 is CEGB. Fastest way is to first find the major chord, then add the major 7th by going one note down from the root (so one note down from C is B)
      GMaj7 is GBDF#
      FMaj7 is FACE
Maj9 chord is just a Maj 7 chord, but thhen you ad the 9th on top. To find the 9th, just go two notes up from the root. So:
      CMaj9 is CEGBD
      GMaj9 is GBDF#A
      FMaj9 is FACEG
      Hope that helps!
