Flash. I have been a school teacher for over 21 years. (Miss being with the kids due to Covid. ) I have been searching for a piano teacher that allows me to actually just play piano without all the music theory. You are an incredible piano teacher. Thanks for all you do. PS My son took 5 years of piano lessons starting at 7 years old and hated it. I am hoping he starts watching your videos and picks up the joy of playing piano.

Zach, i've been wanting to learn piano forever. now that i'm retired, i'm so glad to have come across your videos on youtube. Not only are your lessons easy to follow and make perfect sense, but they are fun to watch even when i'm not near my piano. After watching a video all the way through, i can't wait to get home and practice the new techniques you've taught me.
And i'm starting to think about them when my head hits the pillow at night.
That can't be a bad thing. Thanks for all your hard work putting these lessons together. I sincetely appreciate it.

BATMAN! I love how you don’t over complicate things with technical terms. I can learn a scale and feel rewarded and continue to learn. I’m not really interested in learning songs I’d just love to improv.

Zach... YOU are my SUPERHERO !!! WOW,!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity in sharing your amazing teaching expertise with the world !!! I have learned so much from watching your videos this past week than I learned in my lifetime playing piano learning one note at a time! You make it so simple to understand ! Thank you thank you thank you !! I’m 64 years young so if I can learn ANYONE CAN!

This is awesome Zach!! As a complete beginner, I wasn't sure where to start. Everything seemed to difficult although the videos clearly stated BEGINNNER, until I stumbled across your videos. The way you teach fundamentals like hand coördination and strategies to learn, move and play smarter is inspiring. I went from zero to more than I had hoped for in a mere week and it has been loads of fun. Thanks so much for doing what you do best.

You are by far the best teacher ever ❤ thank you so much . I can lose a couple of hours just playing !!! Not good for the housework I am not young (64) but just shows that it's never too late to learn a skill if you are the teacher. Seriously thanks again x

Thank you Zach. There seem to be a good deal of repetition of concepts of four. Four notes in each grouping c, e, g, a + f, a ,c, d + g, c, d, e. The rhythmic patterns were also helpful. Long, short, long, short - Short, long, short, long - Long, short, short, short - Short, long, long, long. Repeating each exercise four times. I am sure you have done a great amount of research figuring out leaning hacks. Bless you good sir. Only a couple of minutes in. For years I have only been playing a triad in regard to the a basic 12 bar blues or 8 bar variation. Learned more in a half hour using your method than I have in the last 10 years. That says a lot!

Beast. Brains, Brawn and Blue. B cubed. I have been using the "jellyfish" technique for years and a variation of the short not going down the keys. I watched you TEDx talk. Great inspiring story. I am wondering what chunking and short-term sucesses (enjoying something early on/reward) will do as an archetype for teaching myself as well as others more efficiently. Perhaps one day I will learn how to write a proper sentence. Thank you again

So im writing this in my own words so im not just passively watching the piano tutorial. The way i get the left hand to follow the four note boogie is to alternate the tempo and repeat each different mix four times each. Short short long short etc in all manner of combinations. That will help in sink in to the muscle memory when i return to the simple 4 /4 time. And before that i gradually added a note and repeated in increments until i had the whole measure. Zac you're very energetic and id drink the...ah but to learn the piano this is a cool aid. I wish you and all your students well. Thank you.

wow so stoked to have found your videos Zach i really cannot Thank You enough for putting this together.
fact is i had no ambitions to learn piano, i absolutely Love harmonica and after decades believing myself "musically hopeless" i learned to play a good old fashioned train song on diatonic just a couple of years ago.
so as a musical noob i got myself a keyboard a short time ago to assist my ear while tuning my bent notes on the harp.
and now here i am playing a little of my favourite genre for harmonica on piano!
it's insane Brother, what a crazy Life, i am grinning from ear to ear and probably feeling just about as awesome as spiderman when he first started slinging his web and knew he'd never get bullied again!
i really cannot Thank You enough.

No real super hero favorite. Thanks for this pattern! Very useful (and easy)! I would like to see your finger positions on the B flat version, though. I mean. I get the C one, but I'd like to see how you transition to the other ones and where your fingers go for those. I'm having specifically an issue going from the final E in the B flat pattern to then move to the F note for the next chord. I'm using my middle finger for the E but then I need my pinkie for the F? Not sure how to do that.
