I'm really happy that you read all comments, and care about us. For next ME, they must bring all old characters (whomever available) and new aliens companions (as you said we have enough cool human companions). And as I said before there is some strange fog in these posters and trailers (specially that poster with mask wearing turian) it can be a result of the crucible shot.
I enjoy your content and theories about M.E. as well as look forward to more releases.

I notice that you had a picture of Shiala to represent possible Asari companions. For me, Shiala would be the perfect Asari companion considering her story arc from her ties to Benezia to the Thorian and her fight to help the people of Zhu's Hope. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this to happen.
I'm obsessed with her and would absolutely love to see her return!
Her biotics are unstable, so I don't know how useful she'll be as a companion.

The scrapped idea of a Batarian hacker companion, is that referenced by Garrus? Garrus mentions that when he was on Omega helping out the citizens as Archangel, he had a little crew, and his tech expert was a Batarian.
I'd also like to see pretty much every companion as romanceable. I also agree that Liara should only love Shepard, Shepard is her one and only.
I'm with you on seeing aliens that are not of the humanoid type. One of my oh-my-god moments was when an Elcor turned around to talk to Shepard, Mass Effect 3 Elcor Mounted Tanks.

I wouldnt mind Liara being romancable tbh. We know asari have learned to live with the fact that they will outlive most of their partners by a lot so choose to stay with the time spent with them instead so I think it would be cool to see a post 600 years Liara that still remembers Shepard but is open to new relationships, and it would make sense for players who didnt romance her in the trilogy

I would not turn down Wrex and Bakara's kid as a companion. I would happily fight alongside Jr as part of his or her Krantt.

I know there is a strong pull towards a human protagonist. But I wouldn't be mad if we had the option to choose another race.

Same here. Liara has got to be my favorite character along with Garrus in a close second. But I don’t know if I could get used to having Liara in the game and not being able to romance her (assuming you’re not playing as Shepard)
Unless we get a descendant of Sheperd I think it's unlikely since he canonical died in ME3

What I would like to see in the next game is not only being able to pick our squad mates, but also pick our ship mates too. Having a volus as a shift quartermaster where you get access to black market stuff would be awesome. And just because I think it’s hilarious, a Elcor communications officer. Kinda like the loyalty, mission stuff they would give you access to certain things or certain worlds would be amazing.
Now I want this too!
An Elcor companion with a mounted gun would be awesome.
I wonder if Geth prefer fantasy style video-game type clothing since legion was implied to be a gamer via the Shadowbroker DLC
Grunt and Samara were my favourite team mates so I hope I see them both again. To be honest, happy with any combination of the ME3 team. I enjoyed Andromeda so if they do throw in some of the characters from that side, wouldn't mind that either.
I wish we get to meet Liara's geth bodyguard in the next game. He looks so fancy ✨

The vibe I get from N7 trench coat guy, is antagonist. Makes me think that instead of being an N7, our playable character will be fighting against them.

I'd love to see Urdnot Shepard as the Krogan squad mate but the thought of an older Grunt is just too enticing. I want to see my lil Krogan buddy as a clan leader 🥺
if it really is a continuation of the trilogy ,i doubt that its a continuation of the synthesis or control ending.Its probably the continuation of the destroy ending since not only is it the most popular ending among players but also makes the most sense if we are ever gonna get shepard as the protagonist again.If this is really the case then the synthetic creatures we see in the concpet art(geth,etc) would all just be robots with no intelligence since the destroy ending kills all of them,which means we wont get to romance any synthetic life in the next installment.
I completely disagree with the destroy ending because that means the catalyst was right and at some point organics will try to destroy synthetics again which is why the catalyst was created in the first place. The control ending is actually the best ending due to the fact that it allows synthetics to live while also proving that organics and synthetics can live together without trying to destroy each other. Tali points out that with the help of Geth the Quarians who are still alive can be readjusted to their home world environment in a matter of a few years so they won't need to where their masks any longer. So having Geth alive rather than destroyed is the better ending overall
I’m all for the romance with a Geth. But…. Can we get a romance with a Krogan? That could be a significant way to deviate from the characters we’ve had with Wrex/Drack/Grunt. It might be too close to the thing with Char and the Blue Rose of Illium, maybe. But think about seeing a Krogan character who maybe is dealing with still being unable to have kids even after the cure due to some incurable infertility and because of that, they lean away from interacting heavily with other Krogan out of shame. Becoming more close with your main character, to the point of romance, could make for an interesting storyline.
Maybe Yahg or Elcor tank like companion . At the end of the day i just want to build Tali home on Rannoch .
A romanceable batarian would be a dream come true.
I'd also love to see a Raloi companion. Maybe there are only a few of them that are immune to that disease they carry and can travel off planet. They could be sent off world as diplomats and such, but your companion leaves that behind and is shunned by their own race or something. There's a lot of room with the lore we have to make them unique.

I'm personally for sense of logic. No magic cryoshit which somehow save Shepard/whoever with not such a lifespan for 600 years. Liara - OK, Grunt/other Krogan - OK (not Wrex since he's already too old even for Krogan) Any AI person - OK, since AI's actually immortal.
But i repeat again. NO MAGIC CRYOSHIT PLEASE!!!!

I still think the Asari in the bar with the Geth is Peebee. Looks like she has be black markings across her eyes. And it would also make sense she'd be working with a Geth due to her love of alien tech.

I'm glad you also feel the characters should have their own 'romance/sexual' wants instead of being able to "we'll bang OK" anyone *we* (as the main character) look at...
It'd be hard to not have all the previous characters available for teammates. Andromeda team mates banter felt a bit too 'forced' at points and moments when you'd expect them to comment they didn't appear to have any input at all...Nomad journeys.
Loved the on ship chats though - talking to the crew for their individual perpectives on current situations was great and with that, if the interactions aren't scripted/done well, it won't matter who or how many buddies we have... Eg, they could've done so much with Jacob but they dropped the ball.
Anyway... it'd be interesting to learn how they deal with the Crucible... or would an alternative timeline work best for us all?
how i see it is if that isnt grunt he might still be alive but that could be one of eves and wrex sons

In the teaser trailer, the character in the N7 armor is obviously an Asari. Which to me, says that we'll be playing as "Shepherd". Liara and Shepherd 100% had a kid. Just before the final fight to get to the Crucible in 3, Liara and Shepherd "Embrace Eternity" one last time. Which is how Asari have children with their chosen partner. To me, that is the only possible reason they showed an Asari in N7 armor. The only reason an Asari would be allowed to join N7, given that N7 armor is only for human special forces, would be if they were the child of Shepherd.
Im really liking the content. You make some interesting points and fun theories taking the most advantage of the very little info we have. I just finished my summer replay of the trilogy so its really nice to have such good content about the future of the series

Absolutely adore your videos! Since you've asked for feedback, I'll shoot - The graphics you've made for this are stellar! They are clean, easy to read and useful! You're fairly concise and honestly I wouldn't have a problem with a lil bit of rambling. Your voice is great for this type of content - clear and steady. I generally really love your theories though, they're very reasonable and you always acknowledge if your ideas are more far fetched or don't have as much ground to stand on - which is great! Overall, the thing that has me coming back is just the passion for this amazing game series :D
Also a total side, but I really wish we got that Batarian squadmate - it's so interesting! Fingers crossed for 5 having one! Regarding romance/sexuality and such in the new game, I really hope they take design hints from Baldur's Gate 3 with polyamory and the complex, full relationships you can have. Also I hope there's some kind of explicitly non-binary character - We were robbed with how they did Jack dirty

I absolutely agree, I think aliens especially offer a way to explore genders and it would be really interesting to see them actually do that. Fingers crossed!

I LOVED the game. It had so many bugs, but it had so much possibility! Plus, at the time, I'd never felt more like a superhuman in any game I'd ever played! Lol
I wonder if Liara gave our buddy Glyph a geth style upgrade
As i see it, the andromeda settlers could have built a sort of supergate - with the help of Meridian - looking to reconnect and possibly seek help from the milky way - against the scourge, the Kett or even the ones that klilled the builders. That being said, with my theory it is possible to have Ryder in your team, even to travel between the cluster and the milky way (don't forget we never really "stepped foot" into the andromeda galaxy, they stopped short of that). And i think Grunt is wearing Wrex's armor since Krogans tend to have some connection to symbols of their strength -armors, weapons, the like and Grunt is Wrex likely successor.

Considered how Liara is, I would most likely assume Javik would treat her like some kid. + I can't get over her trying to attack him for speaking the truth about Thessia. Javik had every right to be angry at asari withholding vital informations of his people from entire cycle.
@@cracmar03 why not? Lol seriously though, I felt like if you were paragon, Javik sort of softened up. He agreed to help her write the book about Protheans I think. Hard to think that if you allowed him to watch the shard, that he will commit suicide after the final mission :(

i think it would be cool to discover somewhere in the milkyway or one of its satellite galaxies where a colony of protheans that escaped on a sleeper ship that escaped during the reaper war or even more interestingly before as a lost colony expedition. now regressed to a preindustrial state and may have genetically diverged given 50 thousand plus years. the asari and humanity could go full circle and help uplift them or not. another thing is i am surprised there not more species that have more diverse offshoots. like shiala could be the progenitor of a green asari subspecies with unique abilities and are there more mutations like the ardat yakshi. give me an albino asari with unique abilities. Was Saren a turian offshoot with his unique pronged horns? so much can be done the species we already have.
Totally agree and I hope they explore this in ME5 with not all aliens looking the same as the same race
Does the success of Baldur's Gate 3 and the praise for the characters and their voice actors give anyone confidence that Mass Effect 5 could get a similar response?
Sort of. EA and BioWare are almost certainly looking at BG3 right now just based on it's success alone, but whether they will learn the right lessons or just do their best to copy BG3 is anyone's guess.
I don't think so. Remember many studios mentioned Baldur's Gate 3 is an anomaly, not a regular thing, not a standard either. Triple A will work very differentely. BioWare most likely must wait on response to Dreadwolf to know it's future. Needless to say I do not think even for second any Larian game had influenced DA Dreadwolf, let alone ME franchise developments. Voice Acting in BioWare games was fine .. I never noticed some jarring issues.
I think ME 4 must focus more on fixing franchise then any other outside noise like BG 3. Andromeda's failure was directly tied to disaster of 2012 with ME 3 ending after all.
I'm easy when it comes to companions, BioWare. Surprise me. I just want a good game!

I'm hoping we get at least one romancable Krogan with at least as much content as Miranda/Jack. The cowards at BioWare severely underestimated how much the fandom wants it to happen. And to think, they had the audacity to twist our balls with that Wrex body pillow, but never deliver on an actual romance
I really think the krogan we see in the first shot is wrex not only because of his armor it looks like that krogan has wrex's red crest that is on the top of his head. I think we will be able to get pathfinder armor for out mc and that is what we are seeing not Ryder but out new mc in pathfinder armor or maybe it is winter armor.
We have to understand the Bioware way with main characters. Bioware and Lucasfilm share a common way of doing things. There is an emphasis on family importance and famous family lineage. This means one of two things. 1. There is a possibility that Commander Shepard, in a big or small way, will return. 2. There will be a new generation Shepard. This follows the same idea as Star Wars The Old Republic (Revan survived 300 years later and had a family lineage of Satele Shan and others).
One thing I wish would happen but I doubt will ever happen is,
Being able to play as a different race then human.

I do hope we will have a few companions that are descendants of the former companions. Such as Wrex, Tali, Or Garrus.
Also, in that party overhead image, we could have it where you have 2 Andormeda and 2 Milky way out on the field.
An idea I came up with is bringing back EDI but in a human body
Because if they’re going with Destroy being canon then I think it could be a good way to bring her back without it cheapening the consequences. I feel like the way to do it is that although her consciousness would be destroyed her memories and personality could still be in her systems and the alliance could make her a human body using the same technology that Henry Lawson used to create Miranda.
This is just an idea I came up with but I think it could work regardless of how far into the future the game is set in

Great work! I always wanted to be able to play as other races like Drell or Asari without having to play multiplayer. That being said, I'd like to be able to play as Mass Effect's Alien races in the next game.
Would love a wise cracking geth prime companion that sounds like a partially stereotypical over the top lady of new orleans due to being part of the contingent that went to new orleans during the post unification of rannoch in the reaper war and for whatever reason is partial to it or still wise cracking female vocalized regional quarian accent.
I'm a bit puzzled about where Javik is. He's such an important character with unbelievable abilities (reading minds and communicating memories through touch, etc.). Liara wouldn't let go of such an important asset as him. And then I heard about those early concepts of Legion and saw that knight-like Geth next to her, and I'm like:
Are they going to do the funniest thing ever and turn Javik into a synthetic?
I know this organic mind to synthetic conversion could sound far-fetched, but I read those Cerberus news about the Huerta case and VI preserving brain functions, so... who knows what space-magic is awaiting for us.

Hey, has anyone considered that for part of the game? There may be a section where you have people partially living in a VR world like in the book ready player won the TV show peripheral if you go back as far as when they remade Battlestar Galactica to show you how we got to the point of the synthetic robots taking over pre-Civil War, when they were being originally developed, and people would live in VR worlds and work in VR worlds. so what if our main character went into a VR world and the cloak was part of their endgame disguise, or the persona that they carried on, but disguised their face, so that anybody that’s looking at them, would only see a random law-enforcement character, instead of commander, captain major, whatever, whoever our main character is so that that way they could keep some semblance of secrecy
I agree about the Shep + Liara exclusivity thing if Shepard doesn’t return. That final “Gift” in ME3 was everything!😢❤ My head cannon was that Liara got herself pregnant consensually😂
I could easily see them taking a page out of the Allan Wake and Last Of Us sequels, and giving you dual protagonists. There's elements of both Andromeda and OG in the teaser materials. Running a dual story slipping between (a survived/resurrected,) Shepard and Ryder could be exciting, satisfy a great deal of unresolved questions from both galaxies, and up the stakes over "the galaxy was nearly destroyed" from the OG trilogy.
i dont think turian legs are much of a concern for me, reverse joints in armored core are awesome
A Volus companion biotic god would be the best, but for real I remember Volus on the online mode of ME3 and it was so fun to see them in action
i cant wait for this game and how they involve the geth. i loved legion and remembering the first poster and that they always been a core part of the plot, i wana see how they fit in this new game

definitely could be especially since they're not pictured in any other media yet!
I can explain the legs. Digitigrade stilts are used in costuming to create non human leg shapes, and sometimes motion capture artists wear them to get the right leg shape for the characters that they're playing.
They don't all look the same though. have a variety of makes and models, and the actors themselves can assume different postures while wearing them so they can assume a pretty wide range of body types. Some people hunch over a lot to make more monstrous characters, while others keep their stilts short and walk straight so their posture looks more human. I think the later would be ideal for turians and quarians. (Though quarian leg shapes aren't really achievable for human actors because they have a second joint directly below the knee so quarians might just have to make do the way that previous mass effect games did.)

Honestly i would like to see how the geth are relating to other species, especially the council races (because of the battle of the citadel) and how arkward their relationships could be (especially with humans on the traverse and eden prime) and if they make a geth romance I genuinely wonder how it begins and how it becomes more "natural" at the end (cause i mean the geth may have free will now but how organics think and feels could be an interesting challenge for them to overcome, damn i want to see now a geth clerk having to deal with an npc that doesn't want to understand that it can't get a refund)

A race I've always thought would be a fun companion is an elcor. Sure, they have the dry delivery of their speech, but I think they have a lot of potential for the role
Why do they all need to be someone we’ve seen before? It’s more likely they are all new characters. Especially if there’s a time jump.

I just had a thought of something that might be one of those parts of the story that you hear in the background speakers I’d like to Sadel or something as one of the announcements like in massive Andromeda. Would you would hear that water Porter in the background giving stories about, the worker who has lost in space and they’re waiting until they can contact the Milky Way Galaxy to let them the family know before they give any details to the public but I could see the government having announced that everybody needs to participate in essentially required population rebuilding after so many populations were decimated so I could see Lara maybe arguing with this under her throat, as she walks through a city that she refuses to donate her body or her material in such a barbaric and I’m romantic way when the only person she would’ve wanted to be with is Shepherd. Or maybe something along the lines, if you are trying to find Shepherd that she wants to hurry up and track him down before somebody in government makes her “donates” to the cause of creating more sorry
I just want a new Brothers in Arms and Mass Effect. That DON’T FLOP 😭
This all makes sense if we just accept the prologue will be set post ME:3, with Liara, wrex and the Geth we hear Liara talking in the dated audio log searching for Shepard, which we are shown in the Geth poster and in the teaser trailer. (Here we have the mudskipper in both scenes) And then later, for the main game we have a time jump to the 2800’s, and Liara and the same Geth getting the andromeda distress signal, who we see liara with in the N7 poster. That’s where the rest of the game will be set.
I think much faster travel between Galaxies will be established for ME5, i think it will take place in both the Milky way and Andromeda but focusing primarily on the Milky Way
4:36 the ones at the bottom seems to be Andromeda iniziative, and one has a iniziative Pioneer squad (as liam's) and the other One seems vetra to me too, while the krogan might be any urdnot but i'm coping in grunt
I think that as placement It Will be placed in Andromeda and that the new shepard might go to the galaxy with the last arch that has not started to travel (with grell and quarians)
You know what I would love to see, a return of the Friend/rival system of Dragon Age 2. I liked how you could form unique relationships/friendships with characters despite fundamentaly disagreeing with their beliefs compared with is you completely agreed with them.
But what I really want. I do not want a single one of the companions to be from the previous games. I want the new Mass Effect to be a new story. I do not want it tied down and limited by the previous games forced to deal with "what if this character is dead?" and I do not want the game to completely ignore players decisions and said "everyone lived no matter what you did"
The problem with Andromeda is not that you did not have the old companions back. Every bioware game sequel has always featured new companions (not all, but at least some companions) who were great so lets keep pushing that.
I agree on all this. I also really likes the rivalmances in DA2 as well

This possible protagonist/ pathfinder is possibly the OG pathfinder from andromeda. He seemed a well respected big deal before his death to leave andromeda's hero in charge. They way they talk about him is reminiscent of how Sheppard and specters get talked about.
Has anybody said that the woman with this mysterious Garrus figure is Helena Blake yet? It definitely resembles her iconic bun hairstyle. I know that means sparing her life is canon, but that's who I think it could be.
Helena Blake was a lot older by mass effect 3 so I don't think it's her
@kalaelizabeth I don't think it should be ruled out completely, though. I feel like Bioware intentionally turned her back to us to show off that hairstyle as a hint. If this game takes place shortly after ME3, then I could still see her in Omega either as an underboss to Aria or a social worker (depending which route the player took) as she wouldn't be too much older. Let's just say it's an anomoly. 🤓 😂
