Confirmation that Sheppard is still the protagonist. I know a lot of ppl would prefer to move on. But to me that's like Halo moving on from the Master Chief.

We can only hope they respect solid, well-tensioned storytelling and don't dilute the experience with such poor procedural generation again... And have characters as potent as the original trilogy, who are not completely de-sexualised. Oh. And fuck off Disney corporate wankers!

idk if anyone has said this yet but I've always thought the Mass Relay being built in the concept art was a human "Mass Relay Ship". Just think about it, wars fought in this game's universe rely on Mass Relays for any meaningful fleet movement. If the Turians know of every Mass Relay leading to their controlled space then the best tactic in a war is for small patrols to monitor all known Relays and the moment an enemy fleet is detected you sent your fleet in response. But now with the Reapers dead/gone any race would be scrambling to reverse engineer all that reaper tech. The Council would have to regulate it or even outlaw its use but with the galaxy in chaos most races would want to fill that power vacuum and who are the new kids on the block? Who might be a bit cocky because within just the last few years they have went from saving the Council to providing most of the security on the Citadel to SAVE THE UNIVERSE... or thats how some humans might see it. And what better way to secure your place in the galaxy than to build your very own portable Mass Relay that can jump your entire fleet anywhere in the galaxy, like in orbit of any homeworld. Liara does say the Council underestimated Human defiance in that audio teaser.
That sounds cool. Would the ship be able to use itself, or would it still need another relay? If it can't, then it would be limited by the slower form of FTL that is used to go in between systems without relays. That would heavily limit its usefulness.
it would functionally be just like every other Mass Relay if it couldn't transport itself, not really game changing. I imagine it would generate a mass effect field bubble large enough to take it and any nearby ships to its destination and back. Or it's like a fleet carrier, in the video it does look like it has hangers, the #s on the side, if its big enough it could carry an entire fleet inside itself.@@ALLMINDmercenarysupportsystem

The Reapers could reach any point in the Milky Way space
@user-wr7mb3ic7m I didn't think about that. It definitely would be a hole in the idea. If it were possible, then maybe they were purposely made not to be able to use themselves as part of the plan to have organics grow in more specific directions and areas? This assumes it is possible, though, and no indication of this has been made in lore as far as I'm aware.
It's already november 7 here and i'm so curious about what we're going to see today!

I want Shepard to return. And I think that's how you make sense of the trilogy. You have Shepard awaken the hero he/she deserves to be. For 2 games everyone outside his team thinks he's crazy, then the 3rd game everyone is dying. It would be nice for a change to have Shepard being praised instead of questioned.
Act 1. Have Shepard awaken to a grateful galaxy in repair. Catch up with all the old characters while introducing new counselors, leaders and plans. Have Shepard be at his best with all the love and accolades, no matter your coloured ending.
Act 2 Shepard helps rebuild connections with lost colonies that were forgotten or unreachable due to the war. Learning of war crimes, survivor stories, maybe a whole species that was shown or not in the first trilogy but was seen as unworthy of ascension and the fall out from that.
Act 3 Shepard learns of the arks. Has to confront "the benefactors" left behind followers and discover their plans for the Nexus. Answer how dark energy plays into the new story.
Leaves mass effect 6 open to go to either galaxy or both.
Nice laying out of the info we have! After 10:06 (okay it's Remnant, good) + 10:26 (the original relays have been repaired; I missed that info) something made click for me: I'm pretty sure this mass relay is being built to connect the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxy, which basically bring them together without them literally physically merging like in some of the art as this would not exactly a good time to be around. If they send us in at that time, we'll be having years of evacuation runs as our main mission. Might get a bit boring. ;) With the hypotheses about the new mass relay the obvious question is: Why? ... Probably something originating from the Milky Way caused the Scourge and or they found out what caused it via the weird Geth telescope and they want to help fix that: Probably 10:56 somehow caused that.

The moment where the Relay is in the process of repair is only in Control, Blue ending.
As far as I remember the story in MEA, Jardaan had a split. Their faction was divided into two factions. The faction that used the Scourge was called the Opposition.

An excellent and timely summary. Personally, I'm not excited, I'm pessimistic and am keeping my expectations low. I hope I'm wrong, but I expect N7 day 2023 to be PR boilerplate - "we're so excited to be working to bring you the next Mass Effect!" - and maybe a minor teaser or two. Minor as in, a picture of a rendered internal bulkhead from a new ship, or Liara's new footwear. I think they won't share much simply because they don't have much to share.

If they're doing both galaxies... @10:31, what if through the use of remnant tech, things learned from the Kett, and also technologies garnered via the destruction of the Reapers somehow allows for a relay between galaxies to exist?
Maybe a new Milky Way Galaxy Andromeda Mass Relay... because Helleus is just one cluster.. can be easily added to a game based in several clusters in a Milky Way Galaxy based game.. with access to Helleus cluster too as part of the game progresion... (600 years after the Reapers)
if it is me:me then maybe it's Mass Effect Mass Exodus, and the new relay is an attempt at an escape away from the Milky Way

Definitely play Andromeda and give it a shot but go in not expecting Shepard. It's definitely it's own game. But it will for sure have connections to the next game
If the game is set anywhere near the 82nd century and they don't bring back the particle small arms from 3 and Andromeda or some other energy based regular guns I'll be very upset unless they have an incredibly good explanation. I wonder if the Normandy crew puts themselves into stasis somehow because I'm pretty sure even Liara and Grunt would be long dead of old age by that point without some form of intervention.
They have to make me care about Andromeda, I literally feel like shutting down everytime I hear ME:Andromeda

If you look at the n7 day message, there's extra O and l added to a bunch of words. If you record the letters as binary and then convert to text, you get "Epsilon".
Kala.. at 10:11 that new mass effect relay is being built...in Andromeda. When I heard you saying those words that is what came to my mind based on the sequence of the questions being answered by Mike Gamble. It makes sense the Andromeda Initiative WOULD be able to make/create Mass Relay. This has me VERY excited about the next Mass Effect game. I have a feeling it will be most unexpected. They could connect to the furthest relay on the edge on the Mikey Way Galaxy closes to the Andromeda Galaxy due to the sheer power it must need, perhaps? SO many questions.

Great video, clear they are not going to abandon any Mass Effect fans. I am still praying no-time travel. I love stories created for time travel as a core part, hate it as a rescue trope. Still believe per announcement on the Nexus, that MW was not as far as people were told, definity not 600 years.
The more I think about mass effect 5, the more i am excited about it. A new era and history period.
I just started the series last week started with andromeda I’m not to far in but decided to go back and play the legendary edition to experience the trilogy before finishing andromeda which so far is a 8/10 the first one ME1 is a 6/10 so far mainly because of the dated game mechanics like no jumping and controls like A to run also my favorite abilities aren’t present the energy drain and shockwave tech and adept powers
Even tho I'm a fan of Starfield I really hope that mass effect takes that route. A few barren planets to explore for Easter egg haunting and random missions, sure. But i wanna see bombastic settings and cities, not just another settlement that needs your help.

There is going to be a Remastered Legendary before the release of Mass Effect 5? Please, Bioware, make some serious changes!
1. Let Shepard live at the end of ME3, especially if Shepard will not be in ME5. One of the reasons I think players can't or don't want to let Shepard go is all the hard work and emotional effort put into the game only Shepard die (not once but twice). Have Shepard become the new Human Consulor or have Shepard and the LI of choose to help rebuild Earth or another plant. This would give the fans closer and make a proper passing of the torch to Ryder
2. More dialog. The interaction between Shepard and EDI in M3 was AMAZING! It was different each time, unlike with other crew members that eventually just locked into a cycle. Especially annoying, was you finally commit to a relationship, and you get the same old response, such as Liara's "Hello Shepard" or Miranda's "I'm just tying up some loose ends..." Plus, give Shepard option for calling out stupid comments. Like with reminding Javik that his cycle lost for being inflexible then ranting how much better his cycle was or Jacob when he insults Thane by saying he nothing but a mercenary loyal to his next paycheck. Dude! Jacob is a gun for hire getting paid by Cerberus. That's a mercenary.
2. Give Femshep at least a few romances that don't end with her betrayed, belittled by them trying to prove they are suddenly better than Shepard or them dying like Thane. Plus update the clothes for both Shepards going from ME2 to ME3. Everything gets changed but that.
3. Please stop disrespecing ME2 crew members. All they seem to be in ME3 other than EDI, Tali and Garrus is so they can be added to Fleet strength points Also let them attend Thane and Shepard memorial ( if they dont change Shepard dying at the ME3). Give Miranda immunity like Jack, Kusumi and Jacob get. It doesnt have to change her storyline except She will then only Cerberus will be hunting her but not the Alliance and Council. If Shepard is in a relationship with an ME2 crewmate let them be part of the battle to retake earth. Easy fix just have Miranda or Jack reboard the Normandy with Hackett as the battle is set to begin.
4. This one is more personal for me. Dishonorably discharge James Vega. I am a Marine combat vet.
Bioware seems to have taken every negative Marine stereotype and wrote it into Vega. The military code of conduct charge is
Conduct Unbecoming of a Marine.
1. A Marine is not allowed not yell at, insult, purposefully get drunk, or strike superior officers.
2. A Marine does not endanger lives and then brag it was to "Save then the day"
3. A Marine is not supposed to be unwanted to be allowed to make unwanted sexual advances or take sexual advantage when someone is drunk. ( If bioware was trying to make a social statement about a very real issue in the military, then NOT letting him get away with is the the way to do it)
DON'T award Vega an N7
hope we do get a crossover game to be honest. Andromeda aint my fave game by a long way but some of the characters deserve another outing.
