I've just become a founder of this game. Something I've never done before but this game being Sci-fi & the people behind it gives me faith! Nice to see you post again Dantics!
At some point we are going to run across a game that the ex Bioware devs that carried the soul of the og company show themselves. Hopefully this is it.
this is looking great, but we as gamers have been fooled before with minimal details and CGI. Lets not overhype the game before we actual see a demo. Let's not pull another Starfield hype train
@@GarethOfByzantium that is your opinion, with three words it isn't much to go on, but do you. I disagree of course, Dantics IMO overhyped Starfield and when the game finally came out, it was underwhelming IMO compared to all the hype around it. I understands the need to make content but I think people need to be more critical on what is actually provided from developers and spew less speculation. I don't mind the a difference of opinion if the counter points are explained.
@@Dantics I think the expectation for Starfield is what really caused "some fans" of the game to be disappointed after they actually experienced the game first hand. With all the Hype from many different sources gamers expected greatness despite the fact the studio is known for buggy games that were developed on an old creation engine. I understand the need to make content and I would be interested in this studio's track record in the video game industry. Keep pumping out content and as always I will check out what you are posting.
Thanks, Dan! I see a lot of amazing potential and what strikes me the most is the beginning of your video talking how these ex BioWare Guys were given complete freedom with little to no oversight. Now if you do that and support that, and then the individuals, you did this for have a incredibly strong passion and care for authentic immersion/escapism… Holy shit! Talkin larian/bg3 levels of role-playing no apologies, immersive authentic escape! I am getting that sense of space, exploration, and living quality that Mass Effect gave me back in the day. Will definitely be keeping an eye on development of exodus, and your videos concerning it as a good source to do that. Don’t plan to get ahead of myself, but the potential backed by the right priorities… Is being indicated here. I hope that maintains because if so… Hell yeah💯
Let's just hope that the ESG score hunting doesn't screw up another game. 'Cause then we'll have a Mess Effect... And patience? I waited over a decade for CyberJunk 2077. A lot of good that did...
It’s not BioWare. It’s a brand new dev team founded by ex-employees, most notably James Ohlen, and has severely vets from them, and other studios on staff. With one of the biggest names being Drew Kapryshyn
To me,it FEELS like they said "let's make me Andromeda but improve it" witch isn't bad tbh Andromeda should have been it's own thing. Edit:the ship even looks like the sr tempest from Andromeda.
I really hope, but doubt, they'll add life sim aspects to this. If you are only ever passing through you can't connect with the worlds you're changing. having a few weeks downtime to build up a connection with the world before taking off again would be good after each big change. You could go on dates, provide your services to serve in many different ways. All while knowing that you'll be going back out soon and any connections you make will be temporary and subject to significant change.
Seems quite ominous, almost impossible to fathom such creative content in a $60 video game. I'm bloody rooting for it be a groundbreaking, & cutting edge space faring game!
Im officially done listening to devs talk about what amazing 🤩 technology they’ve implemented into their game 😂 ty bg3 for showing me what a game should be instead of the half made games we constantly receive save your buck
Looks good. The animiatoins still seems a bit off, but I assume that will get polished prior to release. Very excited to see what Drew Karpyshyn has cooked up for us.
This looks great looks more inspired closer in style to me Andromeda,I like how they are tackling story telling hopefully it actually pans out that way
Good video Dantics, while I'm given reason to doubt the writing in the game because they've featured some poor ESG level writing already. However this game is being made by competent people. Can they make a good game with WotC's backing? How hands off are they, are they the reason for the poor ESG writing? Well we won't know until the game releases, but after the massive flop that was starfield I really need a good game.
Thank you for these video on the upcoming Exodus rpg. I love the Mass Effect series (even had fun with Andromeda), so looking forward to this new game.
It's elo-heem with the stress on the last syllable, like from the bible. Below I've quoted from the book of Exodus. Elohim is often translated as God, but in reality it's plural, gods. 13 Then Moses replied to Elohim, “Suppose I go to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The Elohim of your ancestors has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ What should I tell them?” 14 Elohim answered Moses, “Ehyeh Who Ehyeh. This is what you must say to the people of Israel: ‘Ehyeh has sent me to you.’” 15 Again Elohim said to Moses, “This is what you must say to the people of Israel: Yahweh Elohim of your ancestors, the Elohim of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, has sent me to you. This is my name forever. This is my title throughout every generation.
The daughter example isn't Interstellar story at all! XD That said, it COULD create really interesting stories, as long as those ex-bioware devs were in Bioware in the ME 1 and 2 era, not crap like Andromeda.
This looks really cool however I find it kinda funny that you said u have open world burn out so this games scripted storyline will be refreshing. What is funny about this is since there so no release date by the time it comes out(which i would be surprised if it was anytime in 2024 more likely in 25) means you could have played storydriven games so much you have burn out for those types of games when it releases. My point is this is so far in the future I'm just going to file this info and move on for now otherwise I would drive myself crazy. Im actually really looking forward to the starfield expansion who knows maybe it could change everything for the game guess we will see.
I've learned not to get overly excited for anything anymore within the entertainment industry. These days, marketing is poured into entertainment productions more than the actual creative aspects of the entertainment industry. Exodus' trailer looks really nice, but I will wait for the game to come out before I form any judgment.
Call me skeptical but the whole "time dilation" thing is probably a linear fixed instance where things change because you are progressing through the "levels" as intended, it's not some immersive sim design that gives way to a sophisticated emergent "living" ecosystem where the setting evolves irregardless of the player (like Stalker).
I agree, abusing gate travel would be impossible for devs to keep track of. More realistic than skeptical id say. 😊 I'm 99% sure it's going to be linear, triggered events (similar to ME2's sequence where the crew gets kidnapped after a particular set of missions). Which is totally fine, I just think they need to clear that part up because yeah there's no way they can account for players skipping through eons by going back and forth into gates lol.
I think you missed the fact that this is not an open world rpg. The game is structured around premade missions, just like the old mass effect games. As a result, they control the number of choices, and the possible outcomes. Much more managable.
One of the biggest draws of Mass Effect for me as a player was a customizable Shepard. I'm glad that we will have that here, while also having it be fully voiced. Any chance they retained the talents of Jennifer Hale again? If not, I'd love to see someone like Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, or Aubrey Plaza voice the character. My first choice will always be Jennifer Hale, though. 💖
Good video, I am hopeful for this game 👈 I been Mass Effect fan forever, thousands of hours into me1-3 at least. So think this new game will be perfect, to we get more Mass Effect 😎
Interesting - but I don't know if the time-dilation-mechanic is worth it, especially since you probably can not simply travel back to a hub-world whenever you want, because of the time-dilation!
They're probably sticking with the reality of physics, specifically general and special relativity. If you travel near light speeds, time dilation occurs, no way around it. They could do something like a warp drive like a lot of scifi has, but time dilation being a core game element is kind of unique and pretty interesting.
Just shooting into the breeze here, but did anyone else think of the book Charlotte's Web when they heard the piggys name was Charlotte? P.s. pretty sure the name is a typo error on my part...my pardon for the mistake in spelling.
Thia game has no release date yet. Not even an rough estimate. So there is a good chance this game will NEVER come to fruition, and if it does, it will almost certainly be very different that what was shown and talked about here.
This concept could either lead to an absolutely brilliant game or an utter disaster. The big thing is the scope, and how much time they can manage to get from the funding they have. I'm thinking that this done well could be a 3 season television show, or more like 7 Seasons with the new _normal_ of 8-12 episode seasons as opposed to the old 26 that was the standard for 70 years. That is a *LOT* of content to fit into a game, and then we have the insane amount of variables the concept itself brings into the fold by it's nature. How is that accounted for? These people are writers and story tellers first so having the consequences for each situation needs to be scripted in, dialogue needs to be recorded, numerous sets of assets that may never even be seen in hundreds of hours through numerous playthroughs would be needed...it's got to be a very daunting task, even if they do lean into keeping to 2 or 3 options per individual response/quest outcome when you also factor in 2 possible outcomes for each quest layered on top of one another over and over again. It's almost like playing a city builder sim, but instead of an AI-like algorithm controlling things in the background you're actually playing in the world states that you help shape. I'm really, really looking forward to playing it, and Drew Karpyshyn is one of my favorite writers in general, not just in the video game sense. James Ohlen is also a really nice guy (I met and interviewed him at GenCon 2001 along with Derek French and a couple of others) who has helped or led many of my favorite titles ever made. BG2, which was, and still may be the high point of gaming *_for me,_* to KoTOR, NwN, and of course ME1, 2 and DA: Origins along with Mr. Gaider (love that dude, what a class act, though he is obviously not part of this particular studio). Hopefully they manage to get the game out in 3, 4...6 years from now? Again, something this potentially deep is also something I really couldn't give an expected release date for, even from a fan's perspective. Even if they could bang out all the required assets in 2 or 3 years given the AI tools artists now have at their disposal along with the freedom UE can give developers, they still have to fill it with meaningful content. Look at Cyberpunk 2077; Night City is *HUGE.* I'm currently about 200 hours into a playthrough and being a little more _exploratory_ than I had been before and they probably only filled about 5% of the available real estate with things to do when you take the vertical aspect of things into account. Now this game will not have to worry about having cities that detailed, never mind filling them as I am under the impression it will be linear with open _hubs?_ But, with the varying world state possibilities and the sheer plethora of stories they can tell, I could easily see this being a 6 or 7 year dev cycle game if things run smoothly. Oh well, I look forward to seeing how things progress over the coming years. The most difficult thing will probably be not getting frustrated (as a fan) after 3 or 4 years pass if there is still no release window (which is better than being frustrated by delays and the studios having to leave more than they are comfortable with out, or even worse, working all that time just release an uncut diamond that still needs shaping and polishing which everyone thinks is just a lump of coal).
I really need a good space RPG, and this looks amazing. Starfield was a disappointment, and I'll have to wait a couple of years for mods/expansions to make it worth playing again...
If we get to choose who gets sacrificed first. It's going to be any strong independent woman forced on me. Just like Ashley. Though Ashley was somewhat likeable no way will I choose her over Kaidan ever.
this game looks beautiful, I can't wait to get my hands on it. Mass Effect Andromeda was the biggest letdown. I played it to the end but I was far from impressed. I can say this, I'll never play it again. It's not even good modded.
The ex bioware dev you are talking about, said this game isnt going to be an rpg at all...and that he wants to distance the game from mass effect as much as possible. This game will be a sci-fi, action/adventure.
This crap is always laughable. No one handcraft levels. From simply seeing the levels one can see how many procedural generation is used. They say that to make non developers think highly of them, but this is non sense.
So they're making a game using a theory that can't be proven...Time Dilation is just that, a theory and nothing more. I'm waiting for someone to make a hand crafted open world that allows almost limitless exploration...basically a game that would take 1000 - 1500 hours to complete, then I would be happy.
I'm all for inclusion of hard concepts like time dilation to a sci-fi narratives. And I'm ok with the hand-waving away of actual sapient aliens with humans so advanced and biologically different they might as well be. Frankly the whole thing has me cautiously hyped, many fresh ideas. What I'm fearful of is the wisdom or lack thereof that WotC and by extension Hasbro will display when it comes to supporting development of a "AAA" game. Not exactly veterans, these two. Not gonna shell out anything just yet, cuz all I'm seeing is a lot of CGI and a few heavily scripted proof-of-concept slices.
BioWare had some serious talent. I hope these guys are given freedom and support to be creative.
Well its owned by Wizards / Hasbro so minor miracle if it makes the finish line
I've just become a founder of this game.
Something I've never done before but this game being Sci-fi & the people behind it gives me faith!

Same here! Hopefully grand rpg fans will be eating well in the coming years.

Absolutely 👍

We can only hope!
Alone that there may finally be a game that may give you a pig as a companion would make it an amazing game for me. Best companion animal possible.

Very interested in this game. Hopefully they get it right
Looks promising.
Also pleased to see a return to 'pigs in space', something we've not seen enough of since the heyday of the Muppets. 😂
So is this what Mass Effect Andromeda was intended to be? Seem to be a ton of similarities, hopefully better implementation. Cautiously Excited.
I truly hope they can pull this off, but from what you shown me so far I am all in.

I'm so in. Loved Mass effect to death. Game looks like it's spiritual successor. And the trailer was so awesome too!.
OK, this sounds good. Like Mass Effect Andromeda, without the Mass Effect and without the EA meddling. Alright, I'm in!
I don't know why, but I really enjoyed that overview. Thanks.
Seems interesting, we'll see if they pull it off in however many years until it releases.
If you guys like this game, I recommend House of Suns by Alastair Reynolds. It's basically space opera with near lighspeed ships only.

Thanks for the info Dantics
"Exodus" I feel like this is a shot at Bioware in addition to the ME-esque art style

The gaming industry has caused me to become a very distrusting and skeptical gamer.

where do you get these things " 15 pints of galactic leprechaun gas" :))))))? You are great as always at presenting this stuff!
I see a logo of wizards of the coast in the game's website....I would be very VERY cautiously optimistic about that.
Took up the founder opportunity.. I look forward to seeing something with the Mass Effect soul of old perhaps gracing us in a few years.
I hope so too!
It is worth to wait this game created by Ex-Bioware devs. Do not disappoint anyone who expect this game.

I'm definitely into the story.
stoked for this and Im pretty sure its pronounced EL-LO-HEEM. cheers
Sounds awesome and interesting, how long would be playtime?
No idea honestly. Has to be decent sized though.

Good video, I am hopeful for this game 👈

Fingers crossed! More games like mass effect can't hurt
Interesting - but I don't know if the time-dilation-mechanic is worth it, especially since you probably can not simply travel back to a hub-world whenever you want, because of the time-dilation!
Elohim is ancient Hebrew and means "the council of El" or those who serve God.
ONLY TIME WILL TELL YOUR NOT TRICKING US ANYMORE
My only issue is that it's thousands of years in the future and they still haven't found anything to protect against time dilation?
They're probably sticking with the reality of physics, specifically general and special relativity. If you travel near light speeds, time dilation occurs, no way around it. They could do something like a warp drive like a lot of scifi has, but time dilation being a core game element is kind of unique and pretty interesting.
Maybe it is a hard block of reality....
Just shooting into the breeze here, but did anyone else think of the book Charlotte's Web when they heard the piggys name was Charlotte?

South Park Banker: "...Annnnd it's gone!"
Holy crap this looks and sounds amazing. I hope this is as good as I imagine! I also hope this developer blows EA’s BioWare out of the water!
Looks awesome! Take my money!
Dude, don’t give me hope. I can’t handle another Andromeda again.
I will try my best to make sure you at least get exodus or ME5 as a winner.
I really need a good space RPG, and this looks amazing. Starfield was a disappointment, and I'll have to wait a couple of years for mods/expansions to make it worth playing again...
I love making cruel, unconscionable decisions in games like these and getting my whole team pissed off.
The pig named Charlotte is a reference to the book, Charlotte's Web.
Thats where og bioware went
If we get to choose who gets sacrificed first. It's going to be any strong independent woman forced on me. Just like Ashley. Though Ashley was somewhat likeable no way will I choose her over Kaidan ever.
There's something off about all the human faces. They all look related, but slightly off lol
Gameplay please, please, please, even if alpha game. I just need to be reassured there are no Starfield faces in it.
So THIS is where all the talent went....I was wondering after the train wreck called Veilguard just what had happened to all Biowares true talent.....
Looks too good to be true...
this game looks beautiful, I can't wait to get my hands on it. Mass Effect Andromeda was the biggest letdown. I played it to the end but I was far from impressed. I can say this, I'll never play it again. It's not even good modded.
First game like this that allows me to have a kid and they expect me to just leave them 😂😂😂 oh hell no
What video is the pig from?
From their website, it's embedded.
Is my face still tired though?
lol collect 15 pints of galactic unicorn gas to hand in 1km away on foot. or whatever u said. so true. hahaha.
Someone probably already responded with this, so forgive me if that's the case, but it's pronounced "Ello-Heem". It's the Hebrew name for God.
Seeing as how I've recently dumped Electronic Arts due to their crappy app, this looks like a good replacement for Mass Effect.
The moment I see sub classes I think microtransactions
I’m more interested in games that haven’t promised crap because these developers be full of crap
Eh, looks pretty, but until I see substantial gameplay...
Isn't this an Andromeda sequel?
The ex bioware dev you are talking about, said this game isnt going to be an rpg at all...and that he wants to distance the game from mass effect as much as possible. This game will be a sci-fi, action/adventure.
Fuck the tech, I couldn’t leave someone behind, if anything, you take the tech and leave me
That non binary character can do what Elon said
This crap is always laughable. No one handcraft levels. From simply seeing the levels one can see how many procedural generation is used. They say that to make non developers think highly of them, but this is non sense.
Meh, too holes you can drive planets through.
Give me a cat girl
I hate these shooter games with RPG elements.
So they're making a game using a theory that can't be proven...Time Dilation is just that, a theory and nothing more. I'm waiting for someone to make a hand crafted open world that allows almost limitless exploration...basically a game that would take 1000 - 1500 hours to complete, then I would be happy.
Breathtaking graphics, boring gameplay, stupid story and thousands of bugs as pre-order bonus 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Sweet baby stink
wokeness incoming
After Anthem, I don't trust bioware at all
