He sounds like one of those guys that flaunts his money around and then wonders why he attracts women out for his money.

This! It is insane to be asked for 4k 3 months in but why was she so confident he had it. Why was he spending so much on her on trips? It's like he buys love and then gets mad the woman sees him like an ATM.😂

This would be a huge red flag, actually a series of red flags. I’d nope out for sure. Too much pressure too soon.

Her second post calling out his scams makes me wonder why she was dating him if she thinks he's so awful??? They both suck

Sounds like she was okay with his shady business dealings and scams until she got tired of him - or found someone richer. Sadly, I have no sympathy or either of them.

love how he conveniently left out the fact that he asked her to come on the trips, and she paid him back within 2 months. they’re both just vicious though. them living together under the same roof would’ve been an absolute disaster, so i’m glad the true colors started flying 🚩

Good thing this ended. I read the title and just kept hearing, "I bought a whole HOUSE for you!"
"Babe, can you please try to get around to putting my desk together today?"
"Seriously? You're nagging me right now...over a DESK?! I bought a whole HOUSE for you!"

I get Narc vibes from this guy, can’t explain it except experience. That would explain his calm yet mean post. It was written to make people think she is crazy, and it attacked her character, which she didn’t do to him, until he wrote his reply.
    Just run girl.

It is because he is so cool and collected. My experience with narcs is while they ate on top they are unphased no matter what happens. They are so good at making you look like the crazy one for having emotions during an emotional situation.

I feel like I'm in the minority, but I felt OP was the more reasonable in the long run. Barring the post-breakup dirty laundry, OP was pretty reasonable with her reaction to ex-gf buying the house and everything involved up until the breakup.
What bothered me about ex-bf was that he was bringing up negative traits about OP that were immaterial to the issue of the house. Like the $4000 she borrowed (that he still gave her and then proceeded to buy a house for the two of them to live in months later), her issues with her parents, her getting kicked out of her apartment - those things had nothing to do with him buying a house 9 months into the relationship. Frankly he sounds insecure and feels that his only value is the money he can provide; hence his suspicions of OP being a golddigger.
Frankly, I think ex-bf did this in a bid to pressure her into a deeper commitment sooner. People often feel indebted to people who buy them extravagant things, and this felt like an extension of that.
Either way, they didn't need to be together

I had to listen to this one twice because there was so much information being thrown around.
I don't think it's possible to really know for sure who's more right or wrong between these two, but it seems like he's the main AH of the two.
The Main thing that made him look bad was the degree to which he left out a LOT of vital details, particularly about how she paid him back so quickly after he loaned her money.
He clearly told that story to make her look like a gold digger, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all. There were a lot of other things he said to paint her in that light, but it appears like he was pretty dishonest about that aspect of their relationship.
That in itself makes me think he's the untrustworthy and inaccurate story teller of the two.
I think she told things in such a way to make herself look better than she was in reality too, but her side seems to be much closer to the truth than his.

They sound exhausting. I think they're both toxic just in different ways, essentially different species of vipers--similar but still incompatible.
I hope everyone around them see the red flags and avoid both of them.

He is a HUGE RED FLAG! He wants you as a trophy. Eeew! He is a control freak. I hope you block him everywhere.
    Edut:
This is the problem with internet. Hi response sounds too perfect that I believe he is controlling and he jas on his mask. Now he is making her look crazy and he is the sane one.
I think I will stand by my comment as my intuition isn't wrong.
Yes! I was right. He definitely is in the wrong. You two need to keep away from one another.

All this guy did was talk about money in his response. He's literally just ranting and bashing her on Reddit because he's mad that he can't respond. I'm not saying either one of them is being 100% honest but his is just him lashing out. Yet his response says she explodes and she was the problem. I feel like they are both trash and do the same shit to each other.

Notice how she demeaned a room in his house. The lied to people saying " my SO at the time told me that he bought me a house" knowing it wasn't true . Op said they talked about, then changed to he never told me (gaslighting). Red FLAGS - He didn't get my permission to by a house with his money. also Op " I don't want to move in with him yet, But I should have a say in the house he buys". Op's logic "my space is mine, your space should be mine. That monster bought a house for himself". Op paid for nothing then tired to take a room, because "I will move in with him in the future. The biggest red flag Op named all the reasons he was a crappy person. Called him a thief, liar, con artist, manipulator and etc, Then said " you attract what you are". Op just admitted he was right about her. Op " I never took advantage of you " also Op " You were obliged to pay for me".
