This is the first time in a long time that stock os is actually a preferable option to custom os at least for the moment. Just the little things like closing the screen to shut the device down or using the power button to switch movement settings on the fly
I installed the stock OS mod and MinUI with a set of apps that allows me to exchange operating systems without changing SD cards, and if you are wondering why MinUI simply allows me to install Nintendo DS Steward in its latest version and man, it was totally worth it NDS plays 100x better now, and the stock OS mod was to use custom themes
for your fast charging tip, it wont damage the device, in general most devices pull, the charger doesnt push amps into them. this is from the reddit for the Rg35xx devices 'The device will only ever pull 1.5A (@5V = 7.5W) maximum, a charger with a lower current will charge slightly slower, a charger with higher current output will not send more than 7.5W at any given time.' this is why you can have a 100+w wallcharger with say 3 outputs that have devices and if you take 2 out the wallcharger it doesnt suddenly push 100w into a device which can only handle 20w as the device is the one pulling the power. A high voltage charger will push into the device and damage it (most decent fast chargers have higher amps (current) to achieve a higher wattage) probably going to deep into it but you can look at amps (current) and volts in the sense of water to make it easier, so current would be the flow (the amount of water going past a point or electric) and volts is the pressure which pushes the water/electric (thats the simple way to look at it) thats why you can have a highish current and a very low voltage that wont kill you, because it doesnt have the ''pressure'' behind it to push deep enough into you body and same the other way, low amps(very low), high voltage, it can push into you but doesn't have the ''flow/volume'' to do real harm. thats a simple version but also too much info for what I wanted to say xD disclaimer dont play with electric! and the current is what kills you
Tip 9 can be done globally if you open the RetroArch program alone and go to configuration and save configuration file. I have to say I use MuOS so maybe this isn't possible on stock, but I think it is.
Hey, Javi great video, thank you for sharing. Something I'm battling with on my RG35XXSP is enabling MAME cheat codes. I know how to enable cheats in RetroArch but MAME is a different story. I do not even know how to bring up the MAME menu. I already scoured the internet for a solution but only managed to see it done for a MiyooMoo device, not for Anbernic. Also, the button combo to bring up the MAME menu for the MiyooMoo does not work on the 35XXSP for obvious reasons
You can use fast chargers it’s completely fine, the charger itself limits the wattage put out into the device. As long as it’s a name brand and not some random Chinese crap you’ll be ok
So, in the other videos you told us to disable filters, but without any filter performance is down. Other people recommend enabling barely visible filters as the solution. Any help on what should be done if after diactivating them performance in all games is laggier?
Haha... dang, dude... watched part 1 and you mentioned the ONLY thing you shouldn't update was the controller profiles. I went ahead and updated the cores, and now my Ozone menu is screwed up (font is way too tiny and none of the scaling options work). Ah well. My own fault. Going to have to re-flash the firmware to the SD card I suppose 😅
@@JaviPlayRetro no worries. I found the videos quite helpful otherwise 😂 resetting the config didn’t work. Just going to have to try and reflash I suppose. I love using xmb on my iPad and phone screen when using RetroArch, but on the “H” it just does work for me.

To turn off FPS use Menu + Y. To make it shutdown instead of sleep head into your main menu. App center/TF1/Apps and turn on quick shutdown and the second screen on quick shutdown will allow you to enable shutdown when closing the lid. For more tips check out part 1
Is there any way you could post your completely customized stock OS including all of these little settings on Github, kind of like the "modified stock OS" that is popular? Or would the retroarch settings not be able to be shared like that? I would love to just be able to copy your favorite settings all at once like that. You seem to know it best compared to any other content creator I've seen and have preferences that will align with most people for the best overall experience. If not Github, maybe a private google drive link or something like that? Regardless, thanks a ton for all that you do Javi!
how do you set up your 8bitdo controller to work seamlesly with your SP? I had some issues when I tried. Also, can you set up a song to be played while in the main stock os menu? I would like it to play the ps vita theme :D

I have watched so many videos on RUclips from different youtube channels but still not really sure what will to pick . So please recommend me something like a overall good handheld under 100 dollars. please reply ?
Any of the RG35XX family are great options all under $100. You have the H, the Plus and this one the SP. My personal favorite is the sp but I think the H is the best for most people becuase its horizontal and has joysticks

@HemantaRajkonwar85 Theres no one right answer. Some people will appreciate different things about different handhelds. I say get a Miyoo Mini Plus and put Onion OS on it. Thats probably the best software experience you can get on these. If you dont mind a little worst software but want more power go with one of the RG35XXs.
*HELP* just got mine. The screen won't say on.😮 I press power button, the screen turns on for a second or two then turns off again. If I I leave it flipped open, the screen will randomly turn on, sometimes turn off right away again or sometimes it will stay on for a minute. every few minutes the screen will turn on for a second or two then turn off again without me touching it. Random.
Probably a problem with the flat cable that connects the mainboard with the display. You could open it up and reconnect the cable. If that doesn't help you should return it. That's not normal and there is no software fix or setting that will help.
I had the same problem, it's not the cable. It's the magnets that should turn the screen off when the lid is closed. I opened it up and just wiggled the pins(?) to put them into place. They are on the board to left of the Select button
@@semirionu thanks for the reply. The other thing that I soon realized after screen issue is that it would not charge. I tried multiple, high quality chargers. Mine randomly started working a day or two after I got it. The screen and charging works. Strange.

Try reseting the retroarch config

The battery blew up on my rg35xx. I have to play it on charge
2 things: you can remove the SD card 2 even with device on, tiny best set is not the best set... Too many roms are missing
