- AdventureLand no longer exists but much of the property is still unused to this day. Lets take a walk to see if we can find any remnants of a time gone by.

Worked there as a summer job in the "cave" -- as the train passed through we did alternating 'monster' and 'sleeping beauty ' skits. $1 an hour and all the hot dogs you could eat!

I see teasel's in those woods. It's the large spikey plant. I wish I could find those by my place but no luck.
I remember the ad on the back of the TV Guide from the Trib.
Did it go out of business because of Old Chicago & Mariott's Great America?
It was compitition from other parks but unfortunately it was also due to gangs and young punks causing people not to come to the park anymore and goto the newer parks with newer and more exciting rides.

I heard the two Muffler men statues are now standing in front of the Greenhouse of Crystal Lake.
I have heard that as well but don't remember who it was (maybe it was AmericsnGiants) determined that they were not the ones from Adventureland. It seems the ones from Adventureland were cut off above the ankles. The ones in Crystal Lake don't show any sighs of repair around the area cut to remove them. They are still around somewhere and one day we will know for sure.
