Lol I know that was wonderful very unexpected I didn't expect it to be a real person that was kind of creepy he started me that must be fun seeing the looks on people's faces and scaring people he must love doing that I would love standing there seeing how people react
The double loops are the remaining peices from the Rollercoaster called the dragon. It was one of the more iconic rides there. It was very rickety and it had the over the shoulder restraints. You would slam side to side and your head would bounce off but it was such a fun Rollercoaster. I'm gonna miss it. And those log flumes you saw are from the old log ride that was originally located where that green Rollercoaster (called The Monster) is located now. As the video progressed i was just naming off all the rides I saw and just felt so happy you took your time to come to Iowa! I hope you enjoy your stay and I hope you experience the Iowan kindness!
@@Grtfhftf it was my first Rollercoaster that went upside-down so it had a good place in my memories. I am glad it shut down because it practically gave you a concussion lol
On the Underground, they used gravity to propel a dark ride. The Calico Mine ride (built and operated by Bud Hurlbut) at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, Ca (opened Nov 1960) uses the same design. The ride car/train is lifted to it's maximum height via an inclined chain lift and once at the top, the car/train uses the force of gravity to complete the entire track ride. The expectation of a drop is due to years of riding roller coasters... Another well done video...
Oh me too! There was one time during Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens they had a scareactor hidden behind a park map and he'd slide the map to the side and scare whoever came up to look at the map. My friend and I stood there for maybe 15-20 minutes just watching and laughing our butts off at people getting scared. Some would scream and run. Others would just jump a bit. So entertaining.
Hi Jacob 🙋🏽. WOW ZOLTAR REALLY SCARED ME FOR A SECOND. WHO KNEW THAT HE WOULD BE IN RARE FORM. THIS IS TOTALLY FREAKING AWESOME ‼️ THANKS FOR THE INVITE TO JOIN YOU ON THIS VENTURE. ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR DAY ‼️
I love Zoltar the real man! So cool! And Jacob, please don't ever ride anything you don't wanna ride. If you go flyin' off a coaster we're gonna miss you!!!! 🎢😄💜
That Zultar really startled me, he was great. I’m glad you didn’t have to ride that Green roller coaster. It looks like it would scramble your innards in a bad way, ugh. Nice park!
For what it's worth, one of my favorite Dark rides was at Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO. It was called "Fire in the Hole". Lots of really neat animation in it!
The best part was that Lady's reaction to Zultar. So unexpected. I liked yours too! I liked the Amusement Park. A lot of different types of coaster rides.
I’m the first person to write on this video and glad that you had a great time at Adventureland Jake. Those classic dark rides would always be a classic!
Jacob, I have zero problems with you NOT riding coasters. I love that you show them so people can see what they are like. A lot of parks won't let you ride with a GO PRO unless you can get their permission to do it. I like riding old style regular coasters where you just go up a hill and down a hill. The others screw with my equilibrium. Love your videos. Love parks that have a chair ride so you can get a nice view of the park. Zoltar freaked me out! Zoltars are always animatronic.
This was my childhood theme park! Growing up in Iowa, my parents either took my sister and I to Adventureland or Six Flags in St Louis. Thanks for the memories!
I'm from Iowa been to adventure land a lot and the underground has always been one of my favorites the story is just so cute and cheesy. You have to listen to the story.
Love these videos carpetbagger even though we can't go to places like these it least we get to experience it with you keep up the good work :) Also that Zoltar was awesome
Its been probably 13 years since I've been to Adventureland. It's really neat to see how much the park has grown since then. The torn down coaster with the double loops was called the Dragon, it was fun but it would rattle your neck on the final turn. Anyway, thanks for the nice video man
I would’ve never thought I’d see my home park on here! I’ve been going here ever since I can remember. Glad you had a great time and I actually discovered some things I never knew about this park from this video. Great video!
I really sat here and asked myself "Now how long am I going to sit here and watch this grown ass man ride this toy bull?" Longer than I even would have guessed.
It is so endearing that after avoiding the rollercoaster, Jacob decides to go for a kiddie ride. I agree with others that have commented. That is the best 'Zultar' ever.
I will never ever rag on you for not doing coasters. I absolutely hate them too, so don't worry about it. You give us so much great content that we can deal with not seeing you scream on a roller coaster. BTW, the 3 minutes on the bull was the second best part of the video, right after Zoltar.
My park. Yes! A totally under-rated park. The defunct Dragon roller coaster is only partially removed. Dragon Slayer replaced The Dragon. The Monster (the green roller coaster) replaced the Log Ride. You forgot to ride the A-train. Great video thanks for coming to Iowa. Other great things about Adventureland you weren't able to see was a full Awesome Circus, 34 year long running Magic Show by Ben Ulin, a most fantastic water park, the oldest coaster - the classic Wooden 1978 Tornado, and huge ferris wheel, and the Outlaw wooden coaster- a quick smooth wooden beauty. And the Zoltar is totally Brand NEW. My son and I can't wait to see it!
I visited Adventureland back in 2015 when I spent a week with my eldest brother and sister in law when they lived in Churdan. I wish I knew the names of the rides we went on, but we did end up spending more time in the water park with it being so sunny and hot out.
What a great adventure. Very unique park, the Zoltar had a Joe Gatto vibe and the ride inside the Arcade was cool. The green coaster looked like something wacky and of course at the 11:16 Mark- Bad Bob. I want to have a beer with Bad Bob and hear his tales 😎 Great video
This has been my amusement park growing up, living in eastern Iowa. I love that you covered this park in your video. Many great memories made here. Unfortunately they have been under scrutiny lately for some fatalities involving the rides. But it is certainly the best, if not the only amusement park in Iowa.
I am a season pass holder to Adventureland, but I've never seen that Zoltar or Robotman. That green roller coaster is the Monster and it is awesome! (But I never found out why there are dinosaurs in the ride area.) Sorry about the Underground. There are lots of people who are hoping for a redo of it in the future. It would make a great modern shooter type dark ride. Those "planters" were boats from the Log Ride that was removed (got too hard to keep it up and running) and the Monster now sits in that place. It's a great smaller park that has really made strides forward in the last several years.
I live down the street from Adventureland and have season passes. The Underground is my favorite ride. It is cheesy, but fun and the smell reminds me of the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland (I was born and raised in Anaheim, so I went there a lot as a kid). What I understand about Adventureland's Main Street is that the owners (it's a family owned park) consulted someone who worked for WED and building Disneyland and got permission from the company. I don't know how true that is. Anyways, the Monster is my second favorite ride and the Dragon Slayer is quite "spinny." It's ok. That robot and Zoltar are new. When I was there a few weeks ago they weren't there then. Glad you had fun! We love the water park too and are planning to go after work tomorrow. ☺️
My fam and I might be going there around June 19th, (to kinda keep our grandma's bday off our mind, cuz her passing has been really hard) and I'd really like to invite my friend. I bet she'd like it.
You sure got your money's worth on that bull 😅 And I'm with you on those high swings! NOT AT GUNPOINT 😨 Can you imagine getting stuck at the top in a high wind?!😱
23:57 Fun Fact where The Monster roller coaster is today there used to be a log flume with logs that said “ADVENTURE LAND” on the front so these logs are most likely from that ride.
Things in this video that were awesome................. The Zoltar encounter Robot on a Tricycle Hearing the theme from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly Jacob's commentary as always!!!
The Underground is built where they used to have a deep pool for a high diver that performed. I live in Iowa and have been to that park many times. When it is dark they light up the Monster roller coaster with cool green lighting. There used to be a log ride where that is. The old roller coaster you saw part of was the dragon. It was replaced this year by the dragon slayer. There is a nice six flags park near Chicago in Gurnee Illinois. I love your videos. 👍
Thank you for the awesome video and for lining in that long queue for this video, Mr. Carpetbagger! I was surprised when Mr. Zoltar moves even though I already saw some people got scared of him in the background! 😂 Mr. Robot was pretty cool too! Awesome actors!👏 I'd love to meet that Mr. Zoltar one day😊 And Adventureland seems like a fun place🥺 It's been ages since I went to a place like that🥺💖
There used to also actually be rain drops when he road this but now it’s just a lot of wind and you get really really scared and there’s like lights that like flicker and it’s terrifying😮 you guys should go ride it now HAPPY 50th BIRTHDAY ADVENTURE LAND!!!
I didn’t expect Zoltar to be an actor lol that is wonderful
It scared me for a second.
Lol I know that was wonderful very unexpected I didn't expect it to be a real person that was kind of creepy he started me that must be fun seeing the looks on people's faces and scaring people he must love doing that I would love standing there seeing how people react
Brilliant
The best! FN trippy on BIG!
I was like "that Zoltar looks.. different.."
Ok that Zoltar thing is absolutely incredible, they need that in every theme park
Thats because its an actual person behind the glass not an anamatronic
If it was in every theme park it wouldn't be as cool.
The Zoltar guy is great! :D
Definitely did not see that coming. Kudos to that actor.😎
Scared the crap out of me!
HOLY JEEZ! That's the greatest Zoltar machine I've ever seen! Such a unique experience!
The Zultar guy actually startled me lol. Wasn’t expecting that
I’m glad I’m not the only one the “Zultar” scared 😂

That was my first ever rollercoaster 🎢 I'm so sad to know it's shut down, but I totally get why they closed it
wait someone liked the dragon
@@Grtfhftf it was my first Rollercoaster that went upside-down so it had a good place in my memories. I am glad it shut down because it practically gave you a concussion lol

I would just watch Zultar scare people all day. Worth the price of admission.

It's wild seeing you visit somewhere so close and familiar to me!!!
My hometown park! I really appreciate you making the trip up to Iowa, among the endless miles and miles of corn we have some hidden gems.
Zultar got me. That was dope.
Hi Jacob 🙋🏽. WOW ZOLTAR REALLY SCARED ME FOR A SECOND. WHO KNEW THAT HE WOULD BE IN RARE FORM. THIS IS TOTALLY FREAKING AWESOME ‼️ THANKS FOR THE INVITE TO JOIN YOU ON THIS VENTURE. ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR DAY ‼️
Zoltar deserves a raise.
Love this! Everyone is so nice and Zultar and robot were Super Awesome!😊
ABSOLUTELY LOVE 💘 this park !!!!! So clean & friendly. Thanks for making this know to me !!! Had a blast with you Jacob 💕
Wow, my childhood. I don’t remember the actors when I went back in the day haha. Awesome. Thank you for coming here. The nostalgia is wonderful.
This parks got good entertainers! Genuinely funny and good at picking on guests (in a light hearted way) off the cuff really good!
Loved the "Talking Tech with Bot the Robot" segment.
he reminded me of ultron
I love Adventureland! I went there several times when I lived in Des Moines, IA.
I love Zoltar the real man! So cool! And Jacob, please don't ever ride anything you don't wanna ride. If you go flyin' off a coaster we're gonna miss you!!!! 🎢😄💜

That Zoltar was awesome!! Startled me, he was great!!!

I do like the small main street theme there! The Zoltar thing was great!

@@DISHMAC I am from Iowa and I would argue Six Flags Great America is the place to go. Adventureland is cute but it’s not a fair comparison.
Jacob's nothing but a big kid living his dreams and recording every moment of it..... Well played Jacob.. Well played indeed!! 😉
Ya but how? Lol i wanna know how to afford this life
You riding the bull was priceless! 😂👍🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️
Growing up in iowa i have so many fun memories of Adventure Land and The Underground! Thanks for this awesome video!
I grew up going here as a kid and still get a season pass and go every weekend with the exception that something comes up
I'm from Iowa been to adventure land a lot and the underground has always been one of my favorites the story is just so cute and cheesy. You have to listen to the story.
Love these videos carpetbagger even though we can't go to places like these it least we get to experience it with you keep up the good work :) Also that Zoltar was awesome
Okay okay I lost it when the "moonshine" ended up being a butt, I did not expect that but it has made my day infinitely better.

Yo, I live in Iowa and I've been to AdventureLand many times! Glad you stopped by. It's a rather small park but still quite fun.
Looks like some good Coasters! Maybe one of these decades I'll make it there .
Yay you finally came to iowa!!
My same reaction lol. AdventureLand is a fairly small park but still a lot of fun!
I would’ve never thought I’d see my home park on here! I’ve been going here ever since I can remember. Glad you had a great time and I actually discovered some things I never knew about this park from this video. Great video!
This is my home park. Thanks for riding the monster!
HEY!!!!! He's moving up he's got sponsors on his videos now lets go keep it up my guy.
I really sat here and asked myself "Now how long am I going to sit here and watch this grown ass man ride this toy bull?" Longer than I even would have guessed.
Glad to see Adventureland getting more attention, great stuff
Same, proud of my home park! 🙂
This takes me back! I would ride the underground over and over.
My son and I rode 9 times without getting off one Friday night a few weeks ago. LOL. A few times by ourselves.
Watching you ride the cow made my day! It just went on and on and on and I laughed out loud the whole time.
I miss going every year. A Midwest classic
It is so endearing that after avoiding the rollercoaster, Jacob decides to go for a kiddie ride. I agree with others that have commented. That is the best 'Zultar' ever.
Love The Underground. I wish they’d refurbish it. Get ready for Lost Island in Waterloo next summer!
I will never ever rag on you for not doing coasters. I absolutely hate them too, so don't worry about it. You give us so much great content that we can deal with not seeing you scream on a roller coaster. BTW, the 3 minutes on the bull was the second best part of the video, right after Zoltar.
You rode The Monster! Proud of you Jacob!
Really? You think he did?
Oh wow! I used to live really close to Altoona, glad you made it there!
Iowan here, spent a lot of time at Adventureland over the years. Underground was actually closed the last time I went in 2019.
My park. Yes! A totally under-rated park. The defunct Dragon roller coaster is only partially removed. Dragon Slayer replaced The Dragon. The Monster (the green roller coaster) replaced the Log Ride. Adventureland at night is a different world also. Worth a look on youtube. Even more magical in person.

Funny thing is, that cow doesn't normally make that noise.
This place looks great. That Zoltar is wonderful.
That place is great. Worth the visit just for the Zultar. That shooting gallery is one of the better ones I've seen on your amazing channel.
Was not expecting the zoltar to come alive
As a Native from Iowa I love this theme park. My favorite ride is the Tilt a Whirl. However that’s only one of all the great rides there.
Jacob, it’s sad you had to experience this park at it’s worst!
It was great in the 70’s and 80’s!
That live Zoltar startled all of us.
Man you had me laughing when you rode the bull 😂😂😂😂
You sure got your money's worth on that bull 😅
And I'm with you on those high swings! NOT AT GUNPOINT 😨 Can you imagine getting stuck at the top in a high wind?!😱
Ha ha Carpetbagger photo bombed by the sky ride helpers !!!!!!!!
C Bagger, you should of gotten on that crazy roller coaster!
Thumb up for that green roller coaster ride Jacob 👍🏼

Wow i did not expect that with Zoltar that was really cool
this guy is a genuine pisser "can't get me on that at gunpoint" CLASSIC!!!
I haven’t been here since I was 9! It was for a birthday party and I was terrified of the dark ride lol. I closed my eyes every time we rode it.
Neat little park and Zultar was so cool!!
YES! This is my forever favorite ride!
That was probably the best Zoltar that I have ever seen! That was awesome!
Thank you for the awesome video and for lining in that long queue for this video, Mr. Carpetbagger!

Another Great Adventure! Reminds me of Fantasy Island! On Grand Island NY, near Niagara Falls! Thanks for sharing !!!!
Great place. One of the Best!!!!
The Zultar guy has the best job! Love it!
Thank you for making videos, enjoying them very much.
