    Second market comic books are like selling drugs, "it's not how much its worth, its how much you can get for it."

    You're 100% correct about newsstands being read by kids. I was going to the 7-11 once a week after school, grab a slurpee (free refills back then) and sit for hours reading the comics that were there. They returned almost all of them every week for refunds. No sticky fingers though, the coolest part was telling my friends the stories at school and watching their imaginations run wild. They lived further away 8-10 miles from school, & didn't have a chance to sit & read comics, let alone buy any.

    Thank you so much for including prices. Nobody does in comic videos. Would be great if you could tell us approx how much to acquire them but I get why peeps don’t.

    Love it when sellers call out newsies when every issue was a newsstand. Like Star Wars 1 in “newsstand” - they’re ALL newsstand. Like people refer to mark jewelers books as newsies - they’re ALL newsstands.

    Marvel stop printing newsstand in 2013, DC may have stopped somewhere around October of 2017. Independent publishers put out newsstands as late as 2018.

    Nubia is the first DC Comics black super hero from 1973. But Friday Foster predates her by one year, appearing in a solo issue by Dell comics in 1972.

    What about the newsstand 9.8 copies that were graded before cgc started recognizing "newsstand "?

  • @davidsamuelson2089
    @davidsamuelson2089 10 месяцев назад

    Dodnt know CGC made any census for a spawn newsstand unless the cover or insert was absent. Like spawn 9 is called out. But the others aren’t.

    Great content. The Dr. Doom "prototype" in Tales of Suspense was actually published after the first appearance of Doom in FF5.

      They had the same published date. But also one thing to note is just because it was released doesn’t mean one didn’t come out before in terms of them writing and drawing it. Similar to x men 266 and xmen annual 14 for the first gambit

    Random question out of curiosity but what is your favorite scary movie.....jk.
    What's your favorite modern comic right now? Art, storyline, covers etc.

      Scary movie. Event horizon is scary. But I also like the new IT movies. The last comic I read was the last Ronin.

      @@ComicBookInvestments I was just kidding about the movies when I went to ask you the question the scary movies line popped in my head. Lol. Event horizon is the one where they open the portal to hell in space right? That's an oldie but goodie. Last Ronin was really good. Besides that the current Batman and Ultimate Spider-Man is all I like. Thanks

    Well, you being a Hulk fan as opposed to being a Thor fan, it's to be expected. But we forgive you anyway. 😁 Glad you figured out the sound problem. As far as the newsstand situations, I myself have to somewhat disagree (with the community). Working in comic stores growing up, there was kids as well as adults in the comic stores manhandling comics on the racks; trust me on this. Why the community thinks comics were handled more delicately in the stores than the newsstands is a mystery I cannot fathom.

      @ComicBookInvestments  10 месяцев назад +1

      It’s the hulk fan in me that is how it fixed the sound. The Thor fan ruined the sound, sabotage! Now that cgc census shows newsstand vs direct. It will be easy to tell going forward. How many 9.8s there are

    im confused, do you primarily just want people to consign with you? you have books listed that are being sold at other platforms for lower prices. like the tmnt 1 first print 7,0 sold at comic link at auction for a little over 8k. but you got one .5 higher listed for 15 on your website. why in the world would i buy from you, if you dont keep up with price trends?

    • @LasVegasCollectibles
      @LasVegasCollectibles 10 месяцев назад

      I agree with your statement for fixed listings. Auctions have worked out for me buying and selling.

    • @ComicBookInvestments
      @ComicBookInvestments  10 месяцев назад +5

      So my website is like eBay in terms that anyone can list their own books. So not every book is actually “mine”. Some are from other sellers and consignors. For fixed price listings it’s free. We take 0 fees. But you have to do the work. For our auctions. Then you consign with us and we do everything and we charge 5%
