Some may think its too big or too heavy, but looking at other "portable" epgpus, they didnt include the charger when counting the weight like the onex egpu, currently, fatal problem with these 7600mxt egpus are 1. constant driver conflict with amds own igpu, 2. due to size constraint, their fans are insanely loud normally over 70db measured at 10cm distance while sgw is about 50, still kinda loud imo but acceptable and temp is controlled very very well, max load for hours only at 65 celcius, while 7600mxt egpus often cant stablize their max tdp. About the company, they are a behind the scene supplier for many mini pc brands or other electronics enterprises so they have first hand resources especially on these mxm nvida cards, they saw in this egpu sector they got 2 unique advantages that are first they can offer a price no other companies can for brand new mxm cards, second because the mxm form factor when upgrading to high end gpus the size of the dock literally wont change unlike other diy solutions where you can only buy bulky desktop ones or expensive second hand mxms stripped from laptops that also require you to install your own cooler. So they decided to come out and do this project.
This is a cool video and it inspired me to build my own. I just built an EGPU for my Ally X with the 4060 Ti for all parts and enclosure for $610. Bought a like new graphics card on eBay. Some on Amazon. Some on AliExpress. The Ti model will perform better than this one a bit and benchmarks get to 12500 instead of 11000 or so. Love the video and thanks for the review. You can do it better and cheaper. Geez… you could do a 4070 or 4070 super build for $748 which is what this cost after tax.
Looks pretty great, with they’d offer a 4090m version. Using a $100 USD eGPU from Aliexpress with an old 2080 Ti and old PSU which is great but this is far more portable.

Hi, I'm interested in this eGPU, but I want to make sure it's not too noisy. Can you confirm if the noise level is bearable while gaming or if it's annoying?
Of course you can do that, but look at how big that would be. This is about being compact but still offering more power. Also it’s not a 4060 mobile, it’s the desktop 4060 chip. (only real difference is the base clock and boost clock)
I don’t have a 4060 to put in the Razer Core unfortunately. But of course the Core is more flexible because you can put ANY card in it. This SWGzone eGPU is more about the compact size while still being modular to a Degree.
@@kalista37 my bad I thought you were asking about the original Ally. You just need to download the NVIDIA Drivers for the 4060. (Do you mean 7840u drivers?) Idk what 7780 is 😅🤷🏽♂️

I want to put this eGPU with my Asus Rog Ally X on my PC monitor or on my TV but I don't want the noise to be excessive or annoying for me but something similar to what I have on my PC and PS5 or Xbox Series S
@@BarelyAverageDude I find it hard to believe that it is quieter than a PS5, because it is very quiet and in another video of this eGPU the company puts a microphone nearby and it gives about 78 decibels, which is quite a bit louder than a PS5, I believe a little more that the sound is similar to a traditional PC, but not a PS5. I must also tell you that I asked on the TechTablets RUclips channel in a video of this eGPU but the V1 version with the RX 6600m, and it literally mentions this: It’s like a gaming laptop, so it’s pretty bad when going full tilt so gaming on it is LOUD. That’s why it seems quite contradictory to what you say, either it is loud or it is not, and I want reliable information to know that I buy a product that is not as loud as my game playing.
i can't take their marketing seriously. Random no name brand, marketing images of the device plugged into the side of the screen of a macbook. like what kind of nonsense is this? I'll pass on that alone. I'd rather just grab an egpu enclosure second hand and throw a second hand 3070 or 4060 in it and call it a day. Hell I've seen second hand enclosures with gpu included for decent rates from people who setup egpus for the laptop but upgraded to a desktop with a better card and are just trying to recoup some cash.
@@RedMageGaming 😅 marketing budget was probably spent making the product. 🤷🏽♂️ But jokes aside it actually is a dope device. As for being "no name" you gotta start somewhere; can't come into existence being a household name. That's why it's my job to test these things. 👍🏾
Question! So for the Lenovo legion go, do you have to uninstall the official legion drivers to use this EGPU? I wanted to buy the onexegpu but it says you have to uninstall the legion drivers in order to use. I want an egpu that’s just plug and play, is this the one for me??
@@Gunzavage you don't have to uninstall the legion go drivers because this is using an Nvidia GPU which has totally separate drivers. I just paid $720 for a 7900XTX, and now all I need to do is get the adapter for the dock.
Of course you can do that, but look at how big that would be. This is about being compact but still offering more power.

Not sure the exact decibels, but it is not an annoying fan noise or else I wouldn't use it.
I would say keep the og Ally if you have an xg mobile

XG Mobile was only 2 lanes of bandwidth on the ROG Ally anyway so this is a side-upgrade since you are no longer vendor locked to a proprietary interface.
