Just to jump quickly when you eventually die and have to start again.
The second phase is probably the hardest. I can't even see what this guy is actually doing, and don't get me started on the camera. Please, Lord, have mercy on everyone.

The second phase is the easiest. You have to attack him until you get a deflect from him. At that point you deflect him 3 times and repeat the cycle. If you sit next to him 100% time you get 2 scenarios. first is the ashina cross that he cancells, pushes you away and does a slash. Second is a thrust attack. It's the most scripted and predictable phase if you sit on him.
Elden ring and dark souls are so much easier then this game lmao
@@bogdanrotaru6101 I think you're talking about the 1st phase, genichiro isn't considered as part of ishin's phases
For anyone trying , the double Ichimoni for Tomoe does not always work . If he does his overhead slash while you jump, his combo will one shot you. So instead of trying to get a perfect RNG run, just learn to beat him normally. It's faster and it's not that hard (compared to what you faced to get here).
I agree. So much faster to just stay on his ass and defend accordingly.
Whirlwind works better since it's faster, but it won't give you the same amount of posture damage and will take longer. It's just safer.
You must be playing an earlier patch or something. They saved the cheapest for last.

Yea imagine if that happened in gauntlets of strength
for lightning reversal, all you need is to jump (make sure the lightning strikes you in MID-AIR) then just press attack. No need to block. So basically, make sure you attack in mid air before falling to ground
if you can't do this, it means your timing is off ( you landed before you attacked). So try to jump a bit later than the previous
Yea but when I used to try it the timing was mostly always off so block and jump then lightning reversal is a safer option and you don't have to concentrate on getting the timing right but anyways thank you for letting other people know ❤️
@@Soul._.Seeker Eh personally for me the jump attack lightning reversal is easier probably because I got more practice with it
At one point, the game tells you to jump, THEN block, THEN attack for the lightning reversal lol.
Yes you take more chip damage and have less time if you don't block

Use mortal blade on genichiro and ashina 1st phase and quickly switch to ichimonji single in last 2 phases. Do not use double ichimonji because ishishin will counter attack if you do so in the last 2 phases . And always hold RMB to block because your posture will recover faster and if you miss to deflect , it is okay you will not get any damage.

I might try this Genichiro strat. I HATE that this fight gets repeated if you die. For whatever reason I have more success with Isshin's first two phases than beating Genichiro. Him respawning may be one of my few gripes with Sekiro.
I am new player here, haven't gotten to this pont yet but it sounds insane they didn't put a checkpoint after Geni....(I got trashed by Owl in Hirata for 6 hours straight...so I will take on Isshin eventually lol)
Don't feel bad. Genichiro had to go get himself ANOTHER Mortal Blade just to defeat you, so technically, you're the main boss.

Definitely not a cheesy way to do it. You just have a lot of skill my friend. I’ve been at this guy for three freaking days. I can do that step counter, mercury, counter, or whatever it’s called on every boss but this guy I can’t get the timing right
The mikiri counter is easy just spam circle or b when you see the Kanji start to fade
Three days is nothing:) I spent a week after finishing game, than I spent a week two years after, and than I spent 3 days 3 more years after and finally beat him. Don't surrender!

I'm stuck on Isshin Second phase. Gen kun os Just deflect and hit, his 6 movem ent combo dont try to mikiri It.
Isshin is you deflect 3 times and hit twice, Double step his Sword draw and ichimongi and hit him with The Double ishimongi
If you're struggling with Genichiro at this point it may be time to rethink game of choice people
Genichiro is harder than Isshin.

Maybe they patched it in some update, I have the older version without the gauntlets and also I just saw other videos with this boss cheese with latest update and they were doing the same thing instead with mortal draw so I don't know!

So if you want to defeat isshin with everything expect sprit emblems try it

1:02 1:37 these attacks are actually blockable, the one at 1:02 is actually pretty easy to block, just block twice quickly when he unsheathes and you can see his blade flash

@@koi3824Yes, honestly it's pretty easy to block. The only problem is you're gonna take damage, because of it. I think i already tried it but just try it yourself to make sure 😄

Hardest boss so far but really helpful. Was stuck with this guy for a week.
Some of those attacks aren’t unblockable you just got to wait for the glint of his sword and then block twice when hes unsheathing and for the overhead swing you can perfect block than he’ll always go into an unblockable attack and you can punish by getting behind him
This ain't cheese. This is just how you are supposed to kill him, which I can't do yet
I mean you could say that it’s more of a way to make him do some attacks which give more openings but yea still need to atleast know something of the game if you have made it this far!
@@Soul._.Seeker Yeah, actually I'm enjoying fighting him. Could make it to the 2nd phase with no damage at all, just bout time to beat him. Owl Shinobi and Father were a pain in the ass. Lady butterfly as well. Had to cheese them down in order to advance. The rest been a good fight.

Just beat this guy today after I think at least 10-13 attempts. When I did beat him I only used one goard. So much satisfaction from beating him. I aggressively clapped for like a solid minute straight.

My only problem with sekiro is never knowing if that red symbol is a mikiri counter or a jumb counter,I simply don't understand the body language
It doesn't really matter. if you have good eyesight and a good reaction speed, You could easily spot the difference

It's not the fact that this is a hard boss, even though it is. What makes Glock Saint one of the hardest fromsoft boss fights is the fact that he technically has 4 phases (3, but you still gotta beat a buffed Genichiro too). And one slip up, you're done. It's also one of the longest fights in all fromsoft games averaging around 10 minutes per attempt if you make it to phase 3 or 4. So if he gets you, starting over feels like such a let down lol.
good video but better to know that his ashina cross and ichimonji arent unblockable, they can be easily deflected if timed correctly, plus i think its better to deflect his ashina cross instead of getting closer to him and attacking, cus after you deflect, you fill his posture a little more and you get to attack him 2/3 times until he deflects again, this way you always keep him busy and avoid him recovering his posture, which ends the first phase way quicker, being extremely aggressive is the key
Ok I just want to say I've been playing since this game came out and I got to the end within days of getting the game and I've never beat isshin untill now because of your video. Ive been play dark souls one for years and years now also have acouple thousand hours in it. And this boss was the hardest bass out of all souls games I've played. Good video helped alot

I actually got sekiro in 2021 and still play the game almost everyday because I love it and also have like a few hundreds of game hours. Well dark souls 3 is a complete different story for me I got that game in 2018 and I also still play that game sometimes. I have like 2000 game hours or something. @@Soul._.Seeker thank you man. I've never experienced anything like this in a boss battle in any souls game. I wonder if Elden ring will have any thing like that. It was the same for me I started playing on 2018 give or take maybe 2016 but I stopped playing for a bit because the only advice I got was play as deprived. ( Best advice I've ever got lol)I got round 2000 hours give or take in dark souls 1 also . 100 hours or so in DS2. And my probably 150 hours of dark souls 3. every fight I've went into felt the same I was get into it and feel all that I did when I beat innshin but my body would go cold and start to freeze but with this one I died so I rewatched your video and used all that your shown in the video along with being pretty angry I couldn't beat him and instead of my body going cold I started getting heated and flustered my cheeks and my chest were burning up more and more as I fought innshin. I honestly think me heating up was do to embarrassment of not being able to beat him for so long. But I was able to use what you provided in this video and able to unleash my full unfiltered hatred for innshin and able to abuse him with alot of attacks. So as I got close to his final health bar and breaking his posture i was half health with no more heals and revives. I said to myself please just let me beat him and started holding my breath and pushed him. As I broke his posture and did my death blow wolf was so close to the edge of the cliff and look like he could fall at any second. I was spamming the attack button after he said the words good jod. There was instant relief and I love this game and boss. And my only thoughts looking at his memory text was I have to make a comment here and tell my one friend

(Yes I read everything) you are right this boss is the most unique one Including Gherman from Bloodborne (if you have played it) Ds1 is good and I also have like a few hundreds game hours. Surprisingly I have played Ds2 more because it seemed wat harder and it took me about 50 hours just to beat it once. The heating up part is completely normal when you are facing a beast lol. It took me about a week just to beat this guy and that was also just by luck because he gave me the most openings possible. I have heard that Elden ring has Meleinia who is a complete beast way worse than Isshin because of the slow combat system in Elden ring. @@Soul._.Seeker no problem I love talking about the souls borne games so talking to another who shares that love of the games is fun. I also had a lot of luck during the innshin fight. Especially at the last 20 seconds or so I was one hit and just praying none of his attacks reach through my defense. Now I'm going to go bully old man innshin lol
Indeed, Genichiro's moveset was too unpredictable and was actually harder than Isshin's first phase. Yes, his posture bar filled really fast if you managed to catch him with an attack spam, but that's what it means to be a glass cannon. One mistake and one life is gone, which was essential for Isshin's later phases.
Isshin's first phase was pitiful, bait his long range attacks, spam mortal draw, quick two attacks, block, back away and repeat.
However, phase two Isshin is among FromSoft's hardest bosses.
After 5 days and probably dying 300+ times, my safest bet was to bait his jump get behind him quick, mortal draw, pray to be able to jump away or deflect, then repeat. This was very boring but it was the safest and only method with which I could actually land a hit on him.
Third phase I did the exact same thing, never even bothered to get the flash attack reflect.
I've gotta say I've been hurrying to finish the game, and was extremely burnt out by the time I've done great ape and owl.
Had a similar problem with the True Monk, the divine dragon was a joke of fight.
I then cleared some of the Ashina invasion mini bosses for fun.
But Genichiro and Isshin were the most cancerous boss duo.
The game ended for me with the same feeling it started - wtf did I just play?
Reading all that was a roller coaster lmao.

@@kyleclause that’s just sekiro for you like when I played it the first time I was pretty upset with the game and now look at me I have more than 1000 hours in this game and my whole RUclips channel is based on it! My favorite boss is probably isshin the sword Saint just because of how cool he is like damn bro, it also just feels fair fighting him for some reason. Hardest is probably demon of hatred because it’s literally a boss from dark souls thrown in sekiro which made me die the very most possible times lol!
@@Soul._.Seeker lol I agree the demon of hatred had me hating the game for a bit. I had to cheese him not gonna lie. That’s the only boss I have yet to beat in a fair fight. Even the cheese method took some practice.

What is your attack power here? Im only at 14 and do lots more damage. Problem is I always get greedy at the end of phase 2/ start of phase 3 😂 This guide actually showed me what the hell he's doing, now to finish this game finally. Thanks!
I am actually new game +7 here so my attack power is around 60 that’s why I do so less damage. Getting greedy is a natural thing in fromsoftware games lmao! But your welcome I am glad I could help ;)
To be quite honest, he seems to have changed in a year, most of his attacks don't cancel and he doesn't block, he just hits

how the hell do you perfrom Ichimonji double so fast after jumping off his head? I've been stuck on this boss for days now and its not even fun anymore
I just do it normally. There is no trick to this or a glitch it’s normal fighting but just at the best openings possible. I know and I understand the fact that it’s not fun anymore but once you beat the game the real fun starts believe me!

Idk how tf did i do it but i first try the whole isshin and genichiro tomoe fight. I farmed so much before fighting isshin and i killed demon of hatred before isshin and it took me 4 trys there. I have atk power 45 and 9 prayer beed necklace with 9 gourd. I didn't even loose single hp in genechiro fight and i used divine confetti in phase one of isshin and phase 2 i used (spirit fall that reduce the vitality dmg ) and also on top of that isshin just spames thrust bro the mikiri counter is the cheese for isshin phase 2 and phase 3 bro the lighting reversal took 30 % of his Heath used fire cracker to distract him used one draw of mortal blade and divine confetti with 3 Na ands done wtf my heart is racing soo fast. The only boss i fry try in this game is isshin lol I cannot believe. I shouldn't have farmed for skill point for 5 hours for 3 days.😅

there two type of wind attack and im just so confused which one is a horizontal and which one is vertical, try to jump and it's a vertical, try to dodge and it's a horizontal
Yea I really don’t know how to identity it now it’s just like a instinct for me. Tbh after fight this boss for like 100 times because actually beating it I kinda started learning it’s patterns. That’s how Miyazaki makes these games 💀
@@Soul._.Seeker oh and the part when you said try to come close to isshin, i remember when isshin is in that pose, he can do a cross slash, so if we come close to him, he will do that red word attack instead of that cross slash?
@@youzo573 yea most probably just because of how the AI works. If you get far he will try to catch up and if you are close he will just hit you with the red sign attack! If you have any other questions just ask ;)

Good guide. Really usefull for New players. How about try to make videos about some mods (lmtsr, resurrection, for the sake of ashina, etc.)? Cause there are not much guides about mods as that have to be.
That’s an amazing idea but I play on PS4 which means I can’t play mods unfortunately. Once I actually get a good laptop which supports these game I will install mods and make tons of videos hopefully! Thanks for the nice words and for the idea ❤️

Do you have any tips so I don't get stressed about isshin? I've been trying for a while but I ended up getting stressed.
Getting stressed while fighting isshin is normal because how quickly he moves. So for that you can back off a little and wait for him to attack once and then you get one hit and dip. Instead of aiming for the posture bar aim for the Health bar, it will take a long time like 16 to 20 minutes but it should work if you don’t mess up while doing it. ;)

if you played perfectly w/o yk ako's is better for vitality dmg but for beginners Gokan sugar u should use 10000% means ur posture bar lowkey near infinite lol so can practice more freely w/o death xD

My issue is that they keep changing it up when I get used to the move set, the video is one thing but it doesn't show the randomised attacks like I experience when actually playing it

You will need ichimonji double a Shinobi art and also the ability to use Shinobi art mid air to do that.

Idk for my second phase Isshin plays entirely differently than the video. He starts doing this 20 his combo on my even though im being aggressive towards him.
Now very cheesy, but it looks exactly how I fought him except that trick that you can jump wind AOE on his head

honestly the best advice is to stay on his butt, and try to get him into a corner

The game is more fun when you kill bosses with skill as demonstrated in the video
It truly is and that’s the beauty of this game.
This is definitely not a cheese kill. Its rather an agro fight, where you trigger certain attacks that give you a window to do some good posture damage or vitality damage. Its good fight, but dont bait viewers saying its a cheese.
It is kinda of a cheese because there is no existing cheese for this boss! This is how close we get. You can also try running around the arena getting few hits and then repeating. It will take like 30 min but if you want it then here is a cheese which is harder then the average fight!
Those the first phase of ishin still work?
You mean genichiro? Or Isshins first phase because it it's Isshins first phase then yea that still works! For Genichiro people are saying it got patched so maybe it doesn't work anymore.

I just realized what you were asking, I haven't played assassin's Creed rough yet but I used the original assassins creed theme from ezio (which I have played) maybe it's the same because I have also played assassin's Creed Odyssey and origins and unity and all of these also had the same music!

Don’t worry man it highly depends on skill. For example, I beat guardian ape first try in my first play through and suffered for more than 2 weeks for isshin. But nowadays I suffer with guardian ape for like a few days but beat isshin first try! As you can see it also depends on luck, So don’t worry man. You will finish the game easy!
Isshins Ichimonji double and ashina cross are blockable
But those are posture wreckers

But if posture not breaking because perfect deflect IS easy, then you dont need a "cheese" nor a strat in the first place. You have already beat the boss

First of all it's not only the theme of Assassin's creed rogue, It's the original theme song of the assassin's creed series. Second of all, just because I love that theme. The dark souls cover with the theme just looks and sounds amazing and I thought it would be a cool outro! 😅

Yea Ig you could call it that if you want a “cheese” then just run around the arena hitting once or twice and do the fight for 30 min. Or you could try to learn the patterns and counter them like I showed in the video! If it still doesn’t work then I am sorry I couldn’t help you.
