How do you get him so quiet when you hit him with the axe? I'm doing exactly the same thing, let him jump, evade, hit him with the axe. The difference, when I do it, he is already hitting me even with the axe smashing him. So damage for both sides, try again, same story but I'm running out of health. Try to run away to heal, he just out pace me and kills me. If I try to counter his attacks normally I get to last phase but nearly death. I'm starting to hate this game

So I go into this fight ready for a challenge but confident I'll eventually overcome it. After 5 days of trying I'm just not having fun any more...
Haha. That's why in the video & Thumbnail I do say this is the closest to cheese you will get. This technique with the axe is really consistent and does serious damage for one of the hardest bosses around.
How does Ishin is so passive when he gets with the axe? When I try this, he literally gets possessed and almost one shot me. I'm getting to the 3rd phase without being hit easily. Get to the phase he gets the lance and he just gets possessed

some people search for cheese hoping they just find the easiest method to get something done. But you're right. no exact cheese for the glock. Just taking advantage of the game mechanics here.
I can easily beat Genichiro without getting hit. I can get through phase 1 of Isshin without getting hit. But, the second phase strategy just does not work for me. Have tried roughly 40+ times. I can get the double axe off and then he just swings through it as he jumps backwards every single time and just annihlates me while I'm dodging to the left. I'm on ng+ though.
yh sometimes he's faster when he jumps backwards and he hits you. if he does this, take the hit and roll back and take the chance to heal. then wait for another opening.. he usually leaps in the air or does some sort of slam attack, you can just dodge to the side and start axing him again.
There is a MUCH easier strategy than what's shown in this video, but it takes more time. Just put on mortal draw or empowered mortal draw, run away from his second and third phase and block his bullets. Wait until he leaps at you dodge forward to the left, then mortal draw once, and run away again. Rinse and repeat. This video is way more complicated than Isshin actually is. Everyone claims that Isshin teaches you that you cannot play like other dark souls games and you have to learn to parry. When I first beat Isshin, I didn't even parry once.
I used the Ichimonji double strategy for the phase 1 where I block 3 attack and continue with the Ichimonji, 2 times then Mikiri counter his thrust or step dodge and Ichimonji. Then I get fumble in his phase 2 and loose all my healing😂😂. Still trying since this morning
For first phase the best cheese ik is when you get close to him you can make him perform a chain atk where he only does one move you one normal atk,parry,1 normal atk parry
Can you make a guide for inner isshin? I've mastered beating isshin but inner is on a different level. he can only be beaten by pure skill and a good luck
just side dodge at the right time. axe does huge posture damage so i'd choose to axe him after the dodge. you can also parry it but its not really worth it.
dumb question but how do you Dodge to the left side properly? which binds, I think sometimes I make it not correctly because After 2 Hits he Track be Instant
as your axe attack animation is ending, wait like half a second, then just dodge diaganol up left, so that you appear behind the left side. if he ends up hitting you bcz he's too fast, move back and heal, wait for him to jump in the air, then dodge to the side and repeat
personal preference. Lazulite does more damage even he blocks. and I'm not interested in burning him anymore bcz he dies really fast if you get the lightning reversals too.. but both are viable options
I am also struggling with the phase 2... I can get through the first phase almost 100% of the time, but the second is much more challenging. is it just spamming evade left to move as fast as possible after the second axe hit?
I personally wait half a second before i dodge left after the 2nd axe. i wait to see what isshin does. if i see him jumping, then i dodge immediately after the axe, if he's not jumping,, then i wait half a second before i dodge.
nice. as long as it helps. phase 3 is pretty much the same as phase 2, just that he does lightning too. but if you deflect the lightning, he dies even faster.
There's no perfect cheese for one of the hardest bosses there is in isshin.. but just know that the axe for sure is his biggest weakness. I just try to show the best way to use it.. but you still have to practice each phase. you have to do the job quick to stop him recovering his posture.

I’ve managed to get to the point where I’m able to beat Genichiro and Ishin phase 1 without getting hit and without using the axe, but then phase 2 is just woeful. What video did you use?
@@nickrobinson5780 I will see if I can find it. But basically the strat was just run far away from him whilst going round him. He does like a double jump and thrust thing that’s very easy to dodge. Just have to run in and hit him once and run away. It’s dishonourable but a kills a kill 😂
I’ve done it! I’ve finally done it!! I’m so stupidly happy right now 😂. Thanks for all the tips! I can finally move on with my life.
Talk faster so I can hear you
I love you
