I knew my Lazulite Axe would come in handy some time soon! I'll try this tomorrow... EDIT: took me a few tries to get the timing and everything right but in the end it worked! Also mortal blade was a life saver as my spirit emblems weren't enough. THANKS SO MUCH @Retro !
ooh good to hear it still works. Started playing about a month ago and lots of the cheese methods on RUclips don't work anymore because they're on old patches. Gonna give it a shot tomorrow...been stuck on Isshin for two days and honestly I just want to finish the game at this point, especially since Hate Demon took me like sixty something tries to beat. Seriously though, more people need to play this game, it's awesome (and better than Elden Ring imo)

I ended up using the cheese strat the first time I fought Isshin and then I absolutely owned his a** fighting him normally the second time. Actually I found out the guardian ape can be cheesed (sort of) I used Sekiro Guru's method and it basically makes him loop the same attack. Pretty easy. Cheers, mate!
I had the same issue for a while. Don't give up though but don't continue on either if you start getting frustrated. I have bad ADHD so it took me forever to coordinate myself to any real consistent level bc my mind would wander mid fight and I would start missing my cues, marginally, but enough to get whooped a bunch. I eventually would just try the fight once or twice a night and started to wrestle with myself if a person like myself could even do it. That being said when I finally beat him I've never felt more reward from a video game in my life. Not only did I beat him but I also won a battle with myself. I have just decided to play through the game again a couple years later and have blasted through it (new game bc I got a different profile now) this time simply bc I know I can do it. You can be confident too but it won't be easy. You'll have to earn it like the rest of us. Good luck and Godspeed Shinobi!
Elden ring is way easier then this,, Level up a bit and beat the horse guy with golden halberd and you can breeze through the game Or do the mission to get bloodhound fang (both extremely early items that will carry you through the game) I like halberd better cause it breaks through enemies poise and shields
works fine.isshin saw a video"how to cheese any player" .i kill isshin with the flame axe with 13 atack, in 2 try(with this method,with another he kill me more 60 times)
@@lizardpeople Memorize his pattern. Maybe you are like me. You need more death to get used to it, but Sometimes I can memorize it by watching the videos like this.
If yall run out of spirit emblems dont use the axe on Genichiro. Spam dodge and jump/mikiri him while buffed. He dies fast and has low posture. This will give you more than enough emblems for Ishin with Tanto
This works, even with sparking axe. Took me a few tries. Remember to back up your game. If you're backing it up on PSN, turn off auto back up. Better yet, save it to a USB drive.
I actually struggled the most when i tried to use others methods. I spent a lot of time learning how to kill without relying on parrying which really screwed me in late game so this fight was particularly challenging. However i did have to git gud for this fight. If i incorporate too many tactics i start to overwhelm myself quickly so swapping prosthetics and downing candies midfight usually screwed me more than helping. I eventually beat isshin by unequiping all prosthetic tools and only equiping my healing gourd. I made myself learn to react to the moves and get the parry timing down to avoid having to fool with the d-pad or switching tools in the small windows given. The result was becoming so much better at the game and eventually coming to understand that the struggle was the reward.

Thanks so much man. I was a bit stuck and the axe happens to be my favorite prosthetic in the game. So your method was perfect for me! Got it after 5-6 tries. I used the blue sugar most of the time, allowing me to tank the damage and keep the pressure on.
I hit NG+5 or 6, and 3rd phase he wasn't taking posture damage like before. I kept doing it the way I did it before and I had to take his health down with ichimonji double, because I was saving Mortal Draw for 4th phase. So. After that amount of time, I've got 1 flask left for 4th phase. Axe prosthetic IS the answer. TYVM.
Worked for me. Last phase was actually so chaotic that eventually had to bury the axe and approach traditional way. No idea how the hell I beat him but I did.
I'm still working on him .... Been prep farming for resources. Might take me a few days unless I get gud suddenly. I can get to isshin 2 relatively consistently, but gotta learn how to manage that spear of his
On Isshin's first phase, you do the double axe, then hit him twice, and then dodge left/behind him to avoid all damage. Then after he misses you, rinse and repeat with the double axe/2 hit/ dodge. Better to have as many flasks for the final 2 phases as possible.
An improvement to this game would be the ability to challenge each phase of this 4 phase final boss. It gets so repetitive and annoying making it to phase 3 and wanting to just focus on that battle to try and figure out a clean strategy without getting wrecked than having to respawn and do phase 1 & 2 again . Also fist play through sucks if you’re trying to get higher attack power . The grinding is so slow to get the skill points at the antechamber area . Each point you get , caused the next point to take even longer and longer . From Soft games are basically boss battles and skill point grinders.

@SEN-NoVa no clue what he means by the bar, but you can cheese the demon by jumping on the tower and over to the walled area, which will cause him to walk off the map
Another great way to beat him is to break his posture by deflecting everything. 😂 joking of course (although that does work) I tried cheesing and couldnt get it timed right. For whatever reason i had better luck learning attack times and eventually beat him after what felt like a billion attempts. What an awesome game.
Bro why did it not occur to me to make a cloud save, before this fight I only can get the snow ❄️ now used all my statues up and the two rice balls I had 😂😂but I was legit thinking what my axe would do damage to cause I tried it on the owl father fight and blasted through his first phase so I’m gonna try this strat tonight wish me luck boys will update if this Strat still works in 2024 😂 (Update)- guys it worked the axe worked, I did die a couple times tho, but I did a mix up , Genichiro I used ako sugar and same Strat, second phase I used ugo sugar(not sure I spelt that right but the blue one) and same Strat with the tanto and the axe I tanked him 😂
it's actually called "items exploit" haha...this is the only way I know that could easily dispose of Iishin and Owl Father...this was almost the same method I used during my first play through back in 2019...never thought so many would call it a cheese these days
@@Retro471 Love this method. The confetti for flare is awesome. Beat him today on my first try with this knowledge and an extra prayer necklace I was missing. Didn't have to buff in every phase but I'm sure you were going for efficiency. Such a cool fight and your method gave me the confidence to beat him.
Cheesing can be fun. Especially if you already beat them normally. Only cheese that's not fun are the glitch ones. Demon of Hatred cheese should've gotten patched a long time ago.

This is how I also killed him on my first time, however after beating him I can now just kill him normally which is weird

Don’t use antechamber. Ashina outskirts- stairway is the way to go.

You can do it with just one of them on the 4th stage. There is a infinite supply of normal rice in the game.

Yes I know but not the 4 stage axe only method. Only ever seen people do 3 stage axe.
To put this another way, the way i do it is more consistent than everyone else method

Using the axe in all 4 phases, everyone stops using it in the lightning phase 4.

Not really. At the end of the game you get plenty of spirit emblems and sen. End game has one of the best farming spots for such things.
