2 tricks not explicitly told in the game:
1) You can reverse lightning using the Mist Raven (as shown here). Requirement is, you teleport in the air and not behind or on the flanks of the enemy (cause then you re grounded).
2) You can poison yourself, which allows for free use of the Mist Raven since you are constantly taking damage. It's essentially short range teleportation.
Imagine beeing a sword/spear master who's trained his whole life in combat , now summoned back by his own grandson by sacrificing himself to restore their kingdom.
And RIGHT after you come back you throw everything you have at this one shinobi, who just deflects all your attacks like they are nothing.
Talk about a having a bad day.
and that after you just died
IIAndersII let’s be honest tho, such an opponent was what Isshin was searching for
@@derkaffeenator9172 thats true once u beat him just accepts his death and even congratulate you on your victory
@@derkaffeenator9172 I think he wanted a good fight, not somebody that outclasses him this hard. it's like season 1 of 1 punch man. Prophecies are bullshit.
AdumbroDeus nah it’s about finally finding someone that can match him. Guy lived his whole life as the number 1 sword master. He got only challenged by that one guy at the beginning of the cinematic, but he was relatively young at that time, and it would be quite questionable to expect him not to become better after all those years. Nah he just wanted to see if there is someone that can challenge him, and actually defeat him. He believed Sekiro was that, and if it wouldn’t have been the case, oh well then why not honour his G-son and defeat the Ministerium. After all they only attacked once he was old and way out of his prime.
I like the way you sometimes stood doing nothing and looking at the guy. It looks like you were bored and checked if this dude had something new to show.
To quote Kenshiro: "You're boring me" or "Is that all?".
Kinda goes against Isshin's saying about how "hesitation is defeat." lol
“Spongebob, he’s just standing there, MENACINGLY”
Whenever isshin does the leaping slam with the spear, wolf literally just sits there like nothing is happening. I have never seen such an intense fight look like it genuinely bored the player. I've beaten him without resurrecting a few times but this is insane.

It's honestly beyond how people are able to tell the difference between a lunge and a sweep in such a short amount of time.
With Ishiin he only does sweeps in his first phase I think. And there its easy to tell the difference. With lunges he's takes a sec and pulls back his arm. With sweeps it's all of a sudden like WTF he's doing a perilous. Plus he only does it after a initial unsheathinh attack. Either way you can just jump back and guard.

I love how the remnant, that you get after defeating him, straight up tells you that you defeated Isshin in his prime form. Gives you that kind of special feeling that you truly bested him when he gave this battle his all. Something rather rare for Fromsoft Bosses.
Is it just me or are the sound of deflections so satisfying?

Fantastic work man, I'll definitely use this as my reference to see if I can finally beat him.
This is attack power 99.
And it still looks ridiculously hard
Because it is.. it doesnt matter if its 99 because its new game plus 7 it means the game progresses in difficulty 7 times
Well 99 atk is definiately recommended for it, I mean this is literally the hardest version of this game - it can't get anh harder than this. It's not only ng+7 but also with demon's bell activated and without kuro's charm.
The first true no charm demon bell kill of isshin the sword saint.
All the other RUclips just cheese his second phase
you can cheese in this fight?
@@TheTRAP015 Not after the patch. In the old versions it is possible to keep him in this first form after the first deathblow by keeping to attack him aggressively so he won´t draw the spear. You could also cheese him by keeping mid distance to him so that he proceeds to just attacking in two different patterns. Fromsoft fixed both cases with recent patches. In current versions you (luckily) have to fight him fair and square.
@@FelixS. But now you can just run around and wait for him to jump and then you just attack him and run away
_kqcper_ I think it is easier to beat him the intended way than the way you suggest. Also afaik they also reduced his jump attack in its frequency so it takes a very long time to beat him your way which includes a larger number of possible mistakes. Just beat him as it

@@lowkeyotaku2373 actually they made it easier in a patch iirc. Be that as it may, my original point still stands. It's the camera that fucks you not the bull itself.
The raging bull is a bitch of a fight with bad camera, unrealistic hitboxes and in the first playthrough just not very fun.
Isshin is a well choreograpied, epic, 3- Phase Showdown wich tests all of your skills.
It don't matters dying to the bull.
Literally punking him. Like morpheus to neo in the matrix. "Stop trying to hit me and HIT ME"
I must say, even though this is just a boss fight with no damage and on ng 7 I think this could help a lot of players trying to beat this boss because a 4 phase boss is a ton of bullshit and very difficult but what this helped me realize that don’t try to hit just deflect and that’s what I think a lot of players make that mistake but thank you for this video.
Once you learn his moves, he is way too easy. I thought owl(father) was gonna be tough because ppl made it feel like he is too tough. It took me just 10 tries to figures out his moves and beat him on 11th. Genichiro was way way harder than him. Lol. I almost beat owl father with no damage in the last try. I've learned two things from watching this: 1. I will never be this good. 2. I will never beat this game.
Beautiful work!
Ferdinand Kittlaus
Never give up, anyone can beat the game with patience and perseverance.
YOU CAN DO IT BB
Did you ever beat it?
Beating this game is OK. I just picked up this game 2-3 days ago. Because I just returned I started a new save without any added difficulties. To my surprise I beat most of the bosses within 3 attempts, a lot of which I beat on first attempt, only because I already have the knowledge of this game.
However, when I continued my previous save, which stopped right before Sword Saint Isshin, but in NG+ and charmless, and the demon bell debuff. This took me almost a day to beat this boss.
The base game is OK. Returning the charm and the demon bell together give a massive difficulty increase.
Goddamn. A true Shinobi Master.
The mist raven lightning reversal is definitely one of the most stylish techniques I’ve ever seen
Well done
All memes aside, can we all just agree that both Genichiro and Isshin accept defeat in the most badass way possible?
Genichiro is so understanding of his weakness, even after pursuing heretical arts in the name of the Ashina clan, that he chooses to sacrifice himself to bring back the only one he believes that will bring it back from the ashes.
Meanwhile, when at death's door by our hands, in true "all-bets-are-off" combat, Isshin tells us to kill him, after composing himself and essentially keeping himself awake long enough to die honorably, in a seiza sitting stance.
No damage ? That's not true you damaged Isshin's pride as the "sword saint" 😂
More like annihilated from existence.

But this fight is no damage.
HE BLOCKED EVERYTHING. PERFECTLY.
I played through this game 5 times and I still couldn't do this.
You said chip damage but this is new game +7 so that chip damage can take half your health. So in this fight, 2 or 3 imperfect deflect and you dead. Knowing that make it even more incredible that he deflect it all.
@@hungnguyenquoc7963 wow wtf?
I hope they'll make another game like Sekiro. I love the gameplay, boss fights looks like beautiful battle dance
Fallen Order has the same combat as Sekiro.
The lighting across the battlefield is a nice touch... just like in the Gael fight in DS3. Awesome job!!
This video is a masterpiece, it wasn't a player fighting Sekiro's final boss.
It was the final showdown between the Wolf and the Sword Saint.
i like when ishin scream for his lose and do nothing waiting for execution, what an epic moment well done fromsoft 😭😭
Semi-automatic pistols were first invented in 1893. Sekiro takes place somewhere in the 1500's. So in a time where people only used single-fire barrel-loaded matchlock rifles, WHY DOES ISSHIN HAVE A GUN THAT FIRES FIVE TIMES IN A ROW?!?!
This game isn’t based on reality, after all you can teleport, heal within a second, become a Mist Raven for a few seconds.
Why are you asking why he has a gun when you fight against different kinds of creatures throughout the game
2:20 Fave attack and the most satisfying when deflected, kinda like Genichiro's helicopter thing.
Gosh this game really needs a DLC.

I think this is the best boss they’ve ever made. Every boss in this game is so amazing.
I really like Isshin. Entire game this guy helping you and in the end you must fight him not because he have an evil plan, no - just because he fights for the Ashina clan. And when you beat him, he completely accepts his defeat and gives you his last words - "Well done, Sekiro...". This is fukin' godlike!!!
he only fights you because it's implied he must obey the last wish of the one who sacrificed himself to resurrect him, so basically Geni went like "I'll sacrifice all my remaining life points and summon my grandpa in attack position"
@@The93Momo93 and still, Isshin don't have any hatred or disrespect to Wolf. A good man, a good warrior, even if his defeat will destroy remains of Ashina clan, he accept his death honorable.

Damn it felt so good!
Going back to that same battlefield at the beginning of the game, the atmosphere, the rain, wind, and music picking up throughout the phases, lightning striking, and that sexy sound of weapons clashing throughout the whole thing!
Even though I died a few times on Genichiro and little over 10 times on Isshin, it was always so damn satisfying to just play
When I beat him I popped off, shouted in excitement, and started stomping the ground a bit, a combination of happiness that I did it, and that I experienced something as satisfying as this battle
Probably the most fun I’ve ever had with a boss fight in any game
I wish this game had a boss rematch mode or something so I could do this fight again and again as many times as I want without having to go through the whole game again

But either way, it happened and I loved it. Thanks, game
Sekiro: "What are you doing with a gun in here anyway?"
Isshin: "Don't you worry about my gun Ricky"
I see you didn’t hesitate.
I love the ending. I got a similar with him charging his air sweep strike. Deflecting that is so cool since it looks like actually cut through air and then you stand in the perfect position for a kill
I love how sekiro just stands there when theres no player input.
Like how in the other souls games the characters have some form of battle stance, like they're awaiting the attack to react. Not sekiro, my man just stands there casually

THIS is what I'm talking about. Every Isshin guide on the internet is like "This is how you do it!" *regular blocks, gets hit more than once anyway, and uses tactics that literally guarantee a free hit for Isshin*
It's nice to see someone actually handling the problems that arise in these tactics. With Demon Bell and Kuro's Charm surrendered, regular block isn't an option, and once you get to New Game +4 or so, every hit is almost a one-shot, so you need to actually find the holes in Isshin's gameplay. Thank you for this. Also HOLY SHIT YOU CAN LIGHTNING POST MIST RAVEN?!
Clenched when you missed that one mikiri. I almost never see follow up to that thrust but when i do, it's always stressful AF.
Incredible.
I have countless hours in this game, enough to platinum 3-4 times over and still nowhere near this display of pure perfection.
Miyazaki: "Posture...working as intended..."
Love how at the end you clearly have totally and utterly mastered this fight, nothing Isshin could do would stop you and your character was barely moving to stop his attacks, you made a hard fight look absolutely easy. Awesome.

You can mist feather the lightning attacks and still use lightning reversal!?!
Yep,
Your timing on deflection is amazing. I want to get that good on this game. Bravo
Ridiculously good, such focus 🙏
FYI When you redirect lightning normally you take a small amount of damage. This can be avoided by consuming an eel liver, which gives lightning resistance as a buff that goes away after an amount of time. The other option would be using the mist raven feather which our boy does in this video.
You can also use the sakura dance sword art to redirect lightning and avoid the damage entirely
