Just did my C2 VTS today with these guide. Excellent, thank you. Would have took a long time to figure out the tensioner. I must say that the french cars are not that bad to work with. Most of the common service points are easy to reach and pretty well designed.
Excellent well made video, clear comprehensive explanations, great camera work, steady well lit shots and great angles showing all aspects of the belt change. Many thanks for creating and uploading. I now feel more confident about tackling my 1007 1.6 16v sport timing belt, tensioner, idle pulley and water pump change. Cheers!👍😎
Did this following your guide today. I would have been lost without this video. It took me all day probably about 8 hours but I did other things as I went like an oil change too. Going to tackle the clutch next week I hope it goes as smoothly as this. Thanks for uploading.
Rechecked everything today just to make sure everything was still tight (which it was) but I’ve noticed the arrow is no longer within tolerance in the cut out on the tensioner. Is this normal that it moves from where it was originally when the tensioner was tightened down? I ran it for 15 mins last night doing the coolant so I’m guessing it might have just stretched a bit now in use. I’m not sure if I should reset it to the original position. First one I’ve ever done that’s why I took the cover off to recheck everything 😅 Many thanks
Just found reference saying should be within 2mm of normal position after 4 rotations. It’s 2mm out of the “window” to the left. It’s had about 15000 Revolutions so should be ok by the looks of it 😅 Belt tension feels good by hand. Such a stressful thing the first time but only took 20 mins to get the cover off to check. Well worth it for peace of mind. Hopefully my comment will help someone in a similar position anyway. Cheers
Excellent video, now I know work involved, tools required ,paying a mechanic is not so painful . Money well spent, nice to see what I'm paying for. Thankyou.

Hi mate, just wanted to thankyou for this video. Did my little C3 TU5JP4 cambelt change today and although I had a workshop manual, this video was my go to, well made and so helpful. Thanks again. Jack from New Zealand 🙂
Good explanation of how to service the belt and other parts. It's a little bit of work but not so difficult as other people make it to be. Just keep thing on it's place and mark the positions, tork it to spec and job is done. I need to service my belt so thanks to your video I'm confident i can replicate the steps you showed. I also have a book for extra guide for reference. Thanks again. Great video. 👍
Thanks for this! I did my belt, waterpump and pulleys yesterday. I just wonder one thing, why does the tensioner turn anti clockwise to set? When taking off the old tensioner, it was tensioned up clockwise.. 😅
Good video. I used the belt marks and the timing was totally off and it wouldn’t start. Moved the crank gear back anti-clockwise one tooth and it runs but not as much power… arguably confused. Used dowels on the cam sprockets. Used a locking pin on the flywheel. Trying to index flywheel different positions but there’s only one where it will run and just don’t seem to have the same power even though it runs really well.
Fantastic video!! Super helpful and thorough explanation. I'm having some doubts over my replacement tensioner pulley (SKF). The issue is that the locking pin has fallen out before installation. What should I do? Is it an issue or not? I'm having troubles finding trustworthy information on this particular issue. Any help is greatly appreciated 🙏
@@diydaly Many thanks for getting back to me! Really appreciate it. I did re-pin it, but you're giving me a lot more confidence that I didn't screw-up the spring of the pulley. Much appreciated! Have a great one!

Hi bud,is it possible to tell me where the timing marks are,as my wifes car broke down yesterday, and from what i've been told, the cam belt had snapped,i haven't looked to see if any damage has been caused yet,but if i am extremely lucky i need to line everything back up so i can begin the process of putting in a new pump and belt,my wifes car is a xsara picasso 1.6 16v,any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
I followed what you did on the video,i tried to turn it over today, and for a split second it tried to fire up,but now it turns over, but refuses to start,so i'm now assuming damage has been caused to valves, thought i'd just get away with it,but i wasn't lucky enough,so thanks for your reply mate, cheers.
May I know about the tensioner pulley...when the belt moving...is not the tensioner pulley moving itself to pull the belt...after I replaced the new one tensioner pulley...it seem to move front and backwards while I rotate the crankshaft pulley to check the movement...?
Does this timing belt kit work for all TU5 engines? I have a 2005 Peugeot 307 1.6l tu5. I am not sure of the series engine i have. I am a newbie to these cars.
Sorry to bother you, I just have a silly question about the torques, I use a KG toque wrench, and 25NM (for the cranksahft pulley) is just 2,5KG and it seems to me not enough tight for that part. Please correct me if I'm using a wrong conversion rate.

This will probably sound stupid as i know nothing about mechanics. The timing belt looks like it has teeth which are all the same size and its a round belt, so my question is why does it matter what position the pully wheels are in when the belt is fitting, like when the engine stops does those wheels stop in the exact same place every time.
Yes the teeth keep it in the same position , thus they stop in the same place everytime .. just 1 tooth out hmvan effect it but 2 or more and it won’t run
