Ant-Man is a unique and beloved film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ant-Man is the most underrated Marvel Hero and the Heart of the MCU too. In this video, FilmSpeak discusses what makes Ant-Man stand out from the rest of the MCU. With a focus on character, the film tells intimate family stories that are relatable and human. Scott Lang, is just a guy trying to atone for his past, do the right thing no matter what, uplift those in need, and be a good father, making him one of MCU's most grounded and relatable heroes. The film also tackles deeper themes like fatherhood and the American criminal justice system in compelling ways that are often ignored by most MCU movies and I think we have Edgar Wright and Adam McKay to thank for that one. With a fun and creative tone, Ant-Man is a breath of fresh air in the monotony of the MCU. I love Ant-Man and it's special to me personally as it was the first film I EVER reviewed on RUclips and have grown more fond of it with each passing rewatch. In my opinion, Ant Man is the best origin story in the MCU and Ant Man is the best hero in the MCU. In this video, I'm sharing why Ant-Man is one of the best Marvel movies ever made. It's an underrated masterpiece that the whole family can enjoy!
Ant-Man is one of the most underrated Marvel movies out there, and I think that's a shame. This movie is absolutely perfect, and I believe it deserves more recognition than it's received. If you're a fan of Marvel movies, then you need to watch this movie! In this video, I'm sharing why Ant-Man is the perfect Marvel movie.
Ant-Man is an underrated gem of a movie that perfectly balances action, humor, and heart. It's a masterpiece that every Marvel fan should give a second look.

    🎞 About Ant-Man 🎞
Forced out of his own company by former protégé Darren Cross (Corey Stoll), Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) recruits the talents of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), a master thief just released from prison. Lang becomes Ant-Man, trained by Pym and armed with a suit that allows him to shrink in size, possess superhuman strength and control an army of ants. The miniature hero must use his new skills to prevent Cross, also known as Yellowjacket, from perfecting the same technology and using it as a weapon for evil. Ant-Man is directed by Peyton Reed.

Antman would always be my favorite MCU character and his movies are always a gem for me. Honestly, I didn't even know anything about Antman prior to this. However, afterwards, I really loved it. I think Scott will always be the most unique superhero in the MCU because of his motivations. He is not doing it out of duty, guilt, or big aspirations, but he is doing it for his daughter. All of his efforts are geared towards living up to Cassie's perception of him. He is the first one to have this kind of motivation in the MCU.
Moreover, I really enjoyed the three wombats. Luis is hilarious and his "narration schtick" is crazy stupid fine. I was laughing really hard the first time I watched it. Even now whenever he is doing it, it still brings a smile to my face. Also the action sequences of Antman movies are so visually appealing. There is something about them shrinking and growing and fighting regular-sized dudes is such a dynamic fight scene.

I've always had a soft spot for this movie and I've never really known why. I always knew I loved Scott's story as a divorced dad trying to win the approval of (and even just trying to get the right to see) his daughter. But I could never articulate why it resonated with me. Then I just realized, I'm a child of divorce. I don't know if other people with divorced parents are the same way, but for me, it happened when I was so young (6 years old) that I don't even think about it. Even though it drastically affected my upbringing and how I view the world and probably everything about who I am, it's just so normal to me that I don't even think about the fact that not everyone has that experience. I almost forget that there's this whole other version of Ant-Man that exists in the minds of those who watch it without the experience of living with divorced parents. And I'm not saying those people are incapable of relating to this movie or empathizing with the situations depicted. I'm just saying that I don't think it could be as immediately personal for them as it is for me. I am partial to Scott Lang as a protagonist straight out of the gate without any real development of his character. Because it kind of puts me in the shoes of my dad. Not because my dad is a thief with a heart of gold or a god damn superhero, but because he's just a dad who isn't that good at being a dad but who, at least on some level, wants to be. Most of the circumstances depicted in this movie do not reflect my life. But that little nugget of truth has always resonated with me in a subtle way that I'm still not able to fully explain. I guess the best way I can think of to describe it (and this is a silly comparison because they aren't the same thing at all) would be to say that this is the closest thing I can come to relating to what people mean when they talk about representation in movies. I'm a straight white guy, my lived experience has been at the forefront western cinema for the last century, so being able to see myself on screen has never been a challenge or even a mild inconvenience in my life. But this movie, with its depiction of an unconventional family dynamic, has always kind of felt like mine in a weird way.
Anyway, I don't know if I've said anything of value here. I hope you got something out of this. Thank you and goodbye :)

The only issue I have with Antman (and it is a minor gripe) is when it breaks its own rules. The whole point of antman is his momentum never changes so his strength comes from him being very small but having the mass and momentum of a 180 lbs man. That means when he grown big he should also have that same momentum and be like aerogel having no real ability to interact with anything as he would be too weak and it would be very easy for him to be torn apart. The Giant man although fun in the film makes no sense. They could have easily rectified this with a technique where he takes inanimate matter around him and absorbs it (say a truck or concrete and absorbs them in to his body to compensate for the size.

I love the antman movies. All three of them. In the first movie we see Hank choose Scott to be antman for a job. He keeps the suit, and then helps out in civil war which loses him the support and respect of hope and Hank in antman and the wasp. He spends most of the movie trying to get that respect back. Then infinity war and endgame happen they are back and in quatumania they are finally acting like a cohesive unit. They are finally together getting the will of Hank and Janet done which is making sure Kang doesn't get out. Hank gets his Antman moment and give Scott his mentor to mentee moment (I read every damn word). People don't remember this about the antman films. They are wondering why Janet didn't do too much and why the big ants have to be there etc. Im like y'all are missing it or just don't like the antman movies too much. The progression is small. This is a concluding chapter for them. They finally get a movie where they are a family unit. Janet helped where it counted which is supporting Scott and making sure if he didn't get the job done, she will. The way they both took out Kang in the end was great. The way she comes back for Scott as opposed to the other movie where he's stuck there again was great. It's an acknowledgement that he is family.

🌟Thank you, thank you, thank you... Finally someone does justice!!! Ant- Man is my favourite Marvel hero and Paul Rudd as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, is just brilliant and marvelous...I dove into the Marvel world again after of soooo many years only for him. I haven't seen any other movie except the ones with Paul in them. I don't care about the others.
    Back to my beloved Ant-man.
🌟Scott is just the guy of the next door. He did something against the law and paid his dues. So, out of prison and finally free, he plans to win his life and his daughter's love back. He wants to be part of her life but in the meantime he finds some obstacles. Life keeps giving him lemons...He loses his job, his ex wife won't let him see his daughter until he pays for child support and finds a permanent job and lastly, he falls into a very dangerous trap which for better or worse will change his life forever.
But he also finds love in Hope's eyes who's a hard nut to crack at least for a while...(Seriously Hope, how cannot fall in love with such a wholesome man with killer abs! Are you crazy???)😊😉❤
🌟Scott is ready to lose everything for his daughter, even his life if necessary...he jumps into it without second thought. And he proves that when he tells Hope that he's expendable and in the end where he goes subatomic to save his daughter from Darren! That word though, "expendable"...such a powerful and spine chilling word itself, yet he says it so naturally as if it doesn't mean anything, for me it's like a knife cutting through my chest...🔪🫀 But for Cassie he will do anything, whatever it takes to make her happy. He just wants to be a worthy father and the hero she already thinks he is. That he's not the bad person everyone tells her.
He loves unconditionally and expects nothing in return... Such a beautiful soul and carrying person he is. 💛 Ugh, these scenes of Scott and Cassie especially in the second movie are so touching, sweet and heartwarming...I just can't take it when in the attic a vulnerable and broken Scott opens his heart to his little daughter letting all his emotions flow...blaming himself for everything that happens and how his actions affects everyone around and mostly her. And later when Cassie tells him that what he needs is just someone to have his back and she would be a great partner to him... Cassie is an angel, just like her dad. 😭😭😭😭🥰🥰🥰
And I won't talk about the scene from their encounter after 5 years...Hands down the best moment from the movie ever... Paul and Emma teach some serious and high class acting there...My respect and admiration to both 🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡
🌟What drives me mad, is in the "Endgame" Scott isn't taken so seriously nor given the credits he deserves by the audience when it is because of him and HIS BRILLIANT IDEA of the time travelling to bring everyone back... Seriously what the hell! For five years the Avengers had been doing absolutely nothing but accepting their failure and succumb to it. Then Scott comes and changes everything! Give him some respect for fs!
OH, how I love the fact that in reality Scott only cares for Hope and how to bring her back and then the others... Love comes first darlings...!! ❤
🌟Scott Lang aka Paul Rudd is the fresh air of the Marvel universe... And I don't give a damn about what they say...Quantumania is an awesome movie... Pity for their little empty brain for being absolute clueless🧠🤷... Not my fault that they're too idiots to not understand the movie.🤭🤣😛😈
For me all the Ant-Man trilogy is 10/10 👌👌👌🔥🔥🔥
Paul Stephen Rudd, you're a national treasure, sir...Thank you for everything!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I know I'm in the minority in this but it's crazy to me that a lot of people want to go back to isolated story telling. It's outdated, it's outplayed and we have progressed passed that as a society. I want my stories to matter in an overall arc of something bigger. Our real world lives work that way, why not watch movies in this way. Marvel just hasn't figured out the right formula for this yet but they will. I have faith. I really like quantummania. I'm just wanting the majority love back on marvel. But I don't think it will ever get that way again, people love this isolated story telling and I think it's just rooted in nostalgia. Which I'm like, move on, there are those of us that don't want that anymore. Every movie that comes out today is isolated story telling. Let us have this in the marvel corner. Theres no other franchise that's doing what marvel is doing, chill out and give them time to figure it out.

I had to go back and watch the first Ant-Man movie after the trash can of Quantumania.... I don't care what anyone says but the first movie was directed fully by Edgar Wright and you can compare the first two movies and Ant-Man and the Wasp doesn't come close. Everything in the first movie has Edgar Wright's feel to it from the instant zooms during shrinking scenes and oh my God can we apreciate how good the CGI was and still remains to this date. Better than anything the last two movies of the trilogy had. And I'm sorry but Peyton Reed doesn't work as a Superheroe movie director he lacks creativity and is an aweful director in my own personal opinion! AND THEY WANTED HIM AS THE NEW FANTASTIC FOUR MOVIE DIRECTOR?!?! PLEASE..... Edgar had a vision and I wish Marvel and Kevin Feige would have let him do "HIS OWN THING" with the character but noooooo, they wanted to connect it to the larger MCU and Edgar just wanted to make a personal story for Scott Lang. Glad to see it biting back marvel in the azz after the bad box office for Quantutrashia.... ugh that movie was the final nail in the coffin for me on being there for Marvel on day one. Last but not least that new actress who plays Cassie is really, REALLY BAD!!!! That actress who played Cassie in Endgame did 100× times a better job playing Cassie in the full 2 minutes of screentime she had in that movie. This new actress can't deliver her lines in a believable way, it felt like she was thinking "Anyway, atleast I'm getting paid and I'm in a Marvel movie so woo hoo" while she was being directed by Reed.... And to think that I was excited for that future Young Avengers movie but after seeing her not even trying in this movie, I say.. NO THANK YOU

Ant man gets the most disrespect on the mcu imo, all his movies are made to set up the next avengers film, I wish ant man 3 was a fun small stakes movie and not a set up, most things that happen don’t affect Scott and more effect the avengers, most phase 4 movies are trying to have big stakes, and I know the shows are for smaller stake stuff but it would be a breath of fresh air if the first mcu movie of a phase wasn’t just using the villain of the phase
