I realized something the other day. For a superhero movie with crazy reality shattering battles with amazing super powers. The final fight between Scott and Kang was just 2 regular guys basically in a bar fight.
Because....the....writing......is....by....Rick and Morty....cartoon...writers. MCU is finished if these clowns are allowed to touch [i.e. - defile] the Avengers.
Either that or he knew they would never work together like ants can for a goal, since they all would’ve tried to conquer 😂 Besides that, Kang had no Pym Disks to shrink the core, basically the whole thing behind why he needed Scott.
They desperately needed to SHOW that, it's really the main fatal flaw of the film for me. Not just tell us it gets weird in there and for some reason AntMan is the only one that can do it.
It’s criminal for Marvel to not have offered this man a job somewhere…I’ve watched the other channels and they just don’t dedicate themselves to the story telling like Erik does, these videos are poetry and so informing and you can tell he loves this sht 💯😆
I agree with you; however, if Voss gets a job at Marvel, we can say goodbye to his glorious content. Selfishly, I kind of just want him to stay with DD & NR. But I also want him to be hired at Marvel because I feel like we’d get some awesome writing and plots.
The only reason antman created a ant hill was because they were all variants created in the same time in the exact same space which means their minds were all entangled to complete the same objective and therefore they all worked together to complete the same task. They were literally the exact same mind at the exact same time. Even the Baskin Robbins Scott Lang knew he was antman. Ultimately being a collective hive mind like ants. Loved the movie.
ERIK! I love how you related each OG Avenger to Scott Lang, and “the futurist” is what Hawkeye called Tony when they were in prison after breaking the Sokovia Accords in Civil War! Love this channel, can’t wait for more deep dives !
I think it is interesting how Kang is notably the same age whereas they aged down Janet in the flashbacks. An interesting example of how time is different for Kang perhaps.
In my culture, there is a "7 holes" term and a "9 holes" term, and the "7 holes" term is used specifically for the ones in the face only, while the total number in the body is 9.
You'll know it's amazing whenever it's Erik breaking it all down for you. Phase 5 has just started and this channel is on fire already. Can't wait for more.
Your Deep Dives are absolutely brilliant, the fact that you connected the 6 different Scotts with the Avengers was just so clever and it made so much sense. Seeing the movie in this new light is great, i can't wait for the Back to the Future Deep Dive.
Yeah it want only the “time messes back” line in endgame that was foreshadowing what’s coming, also when he was talking to pepper Potts right after he figured out time travel he said something like” I should take this drop it in a lockbox in the ocean”. He knew deep down unlocking time travel was a huge mistake
I really like theyvway he changed up when he revealed himself to Janet. They both did a really good job in that scene from when she turned on the machine to her taking the drive. That half devious smile Kang gives when he sees her turn that on....and thebfact that he was going to actually keep his promise to her and not destroy her timeline but everyone else's.
I'm loving this kind of content! If you're taking suggestions I'd absolutely love it if you covered the first season of Doom Patrol at some point! It's a super underrated show that needs more attention
I recently binged Doom Patrol and Titans and I’m so sad they were cancelled. Doom Patrol especially. It had such a great mix of comedy and drama/trauma.
One of the “no moves wasted” things I noticed too is Kang asked Scott if he was the one with the hammer and all that BUT after he stopped torturing them he said you’re out of your league… Antman. Haven’t seen that mentioned by anyone but I thought that was so cold and calculated.
So there was one thing that I really didn't like in this deep and that was the suggestion that Kang is sociopathic. That makes Kang a less interesting character for me. Humans are often at their most monstrous when they know internally that what they are doing is wrong yet the pain of accepting their actions is impossible to process. They lie to themselves and others. They'll literally attempt to destroy other people who trigger that internal conflict. A truly monstrous Kang is a human Kang who carries his scars both inside and out. What could be more terrible than the pain of knowing that you're a monster? Empathy makes him more dangerous. Sociopathy a more one note villain. So Kang's time with Janet being a real aspect of his personality makes his desire to burn out his own guilt (his variants) all the more tragic. Like with Thanos, we need the villain's journey to make Kang the monster we understand.
Kang PRIOR TO becoming a sociopath will probably be examined in other movies. I can't stand the split-reality version of timelines that Marvel embraced, where "variants" confuse sequence or timeline, but here goes. We see that Quantumania's Kang seems to "pre-date" He Who Remains. Victor Timely's appearance in Loki S2 will probably show an inexperienced Kang with differing perspective. Rama-Tut who is rumored to encounter the Fantastic Four apparently "presages" all we've seen.
You helped me see the movie in a brand new light. I neeed to see it a second time to fully appreciate it. It was flawed, sure, but now I see it was trying to say important things. If this is Ant Man's black holes moment, I'm excited to see what's next.
Wow this channel is going to be so awesome! It's gonna make us go back and enjoy all these epic movies in a totally new amazing way! Thanks Eric and new rockstars Fam!
you did this movie so much justice. so many complaining videos and reviews from others just got hard rejected by you. good job, its a great movie, story, and actors all the way through.
I expect "Quantumania" is a portmanteau of "quantum" and "megalomania", which pretty much describes Kang: a time travelling, universe hopping megalomaniac.

Erik just wanted to say this channel is awesome, and I hope for more deep dives. Personally, I would love for a director focus episode, possibly about Chris Nolan.
Love New Rock Stars. Had no idea he had this channel as well. (Not idea how i missed it for this long) just finished watching the Deep Dive on loki season 1. And holy vibranium.. the details he is able to pick up on is beyond impressive. Ive watched that show multiple times and didnt pick up on a lot of the things he did. MCU deep dive is now my favorite channel. Love it
dude loooove this channel. Been with New Rockstars since 2016 and have watched every video since. The best times were when you guys dove into the deeper meaning to these movies. thank you for dedicating a whole channel to it!
Theory confirmed: Erik is not human because he has NO holes below the neck. In my opinion, eye sockets aren’t straight up holes… people born male have 5 up top, 2 down low…
I find it interesting that no one has picked up on the fact that He Who Remains gave us a hint that there are 5 main Kangs in his holographic explanation. When he starts talking about how they started to war with each other there are 5 different Kangs shown. Now after QM we know who each of them are. One is obviously the Conqueror. Then the 3 at the end credits (Rama Tut, Immortus and the purple android guy). Then there's Victor Timely (who I think we're going to discover is actually He Who Remains, the TVA link is key since it's the Loki show, Loki being afraid of him is a red herring). That's 5. Then at the Citadel there were 4 statues of Timekeepers, one destroyed. I believe those represent 4 Kangs (Conqueror, Rama Tut, Immortus, android guy) and the destroyed one was the Conqueror. There's not a statue for HWR because he comes along and unseats all of them to create the sacred timeline. I think this will tie into the Loki 2 storyline.
I’m enjoying the deep dive more than the movie. The movie had little spaces that they could have filled in. But Erik is the man and deep dive is just so so good! The details are just 🔥🔥
12:14 There was a set photo of a director's chair with Ant Man and The Wasp and a long word with similar circled letters replacing the word Quantumania
The Void from Loki included versions of Avengers Tower, Sanctum Santorum, the Golden Gate Bridge. The end of Quantum Mania suggests Scott’s version of reality has been altered/compromised, and where does he live San Francisco home of the Golden Gate Bridge. The Void may be giving us a preview of Kang’s plan and who he plans to go after.
I have random theory - about Kang replying to Janet with - “win”. It would be cool twist if he meant “when”. Like, when…he’s asking Janet tongue and cheek - ‘when, which point and which timeline’. Yes, this makes zero sense, but then again, nothing makes sense dealing with Multi-Verse.

Hey Erikkk, been loving the videos on this channel. Just a suggestion, before you upload a deep dive about any movie in the future, make a community post 3 days before uploading the video so we can rewatch the movie and deep dive with you fr. Thank youuuu
I’m always excited to see your videos Erik, but when you mentioned you’re doing a deep dive on Back to the Future, I nearly lost my mind. I know that movie like the back of my hand. It is my favorite movie. I know every line, behind the scenes information, and trivia question about. I really am looking forward to seeing your take on it! Friday can’t come any faster. Thanks for slowing down my week. 😂

Hey Erik, great stuff so far on the channel. I read somewhere that my favorite MCU hero, Sam Wilson's Captian America will not be the leader of the Avengers and that has me worried that they won't let Sam be as great as Steve. What are your thoughts
I would really love to see a Deep Dive episode of the history of the 838 Universe!! What did this world do differently in the lead up to killing Thanos, and how does his premature death affect events moving forward?
Thank you so much for showing us the critics that don't actually care about these movies don't know what they're talking about. Literally every review I read is the same, all looked at from the same "what's right in front of me" lense. You blew it out of the park. And I'm not even finished with the vid, GREAT job! ps. I just found the channel through your ant-man breakdown, and you have well earned yourself a new subscriber on both channels!
Not much of a deep dive. I expected theories or explanations to what Kang meant when he said "who I need to be". No explanation to why Kang calls Janet "Jellybean". No explanation why only this Kang understands how it all ends, and not the others. No explanations to why kang referenced "Eternity"...
This Deep Dive is actually good. I hate seeing these ppl put up vids saying MCU is done bcuz they don't understand what's going on. I told him to consider watching U n Emergency Awesome bcuz he couldn't figure out the meaning behind everything in Quantimania. He's slow, I get it. Everyone's a critic. You state facts and make ppl wanna go c the movies. Those bashing MCU everytime they watch a MCU movie or show are lame AF💯 no one cares about how much he didn't like it. His problem... Go Voss
Another great video! This film wasn’t as good as the first two Ant-Man films, but everything with Kang was GREAT and I can’t wait to see where it goes. It’s the Thor 2: The Dark World of the Multiverse Saga.
I actually really liked this movie. There was something very understated about it. I liked the visuals and Majors gave a great performance as Kang and I liked how Hope and Janet played a major role in the story. I’m not saying it was perfect or a masterpiece, but I honestly don’t get the hate. I can understand the MODOK criticisms because I lowkey agree but other than that, the film was fine to me. 7.5/10.
I realized something the other day. For a superhero movie with crazy reality shattering battles with amazing super powers. The final fight between Scott and Kang was just 2 regular guys basically in a bar fight.

It probably would have happened already. thats why he didnt go in.
Either that or he knew they would never work together like ants can for a goal, since they all would’ve tried to conquer 😂

I think it is interesting how Kang is notably the same age whereas they aged down Janet in the flashbacks. An interesting example of how time is different for Kang perhaps.
I mean in the quantum realm in general
But he who remains never ages. Kinda seems like kangs don’t age?
Or its just another oversight by Marvel...........
The 7 holes is not referring to face holes but actual entry point holes into the body. Ears (1,2), mouth (3), nose (4,5), anus (6), urethra (7).
That’s what I thought

Bravo on the break down
Great video, Voss. I loved how you connected so many things back to different classics! This is my favorite type of easter eggs you do 😊
I actually really liked this movie. 7.5/10.
