We need Deep Dive on Eric's career so far
@@DeepDiveNR what that you done nothing but prop up the same shit marvels put out in the last 3 years no thanks 😂🤡
@@DeepDiveNR but you have to start it off with a “ Long Long ago before he was the face of New Rockstars he was….” ( movie announcer voice ) 😂
Eric is awesome, I was not a fan of the new talent, but they are a great at what they do. The SheHulk breakdowns were great!
Nah, We really don't. But He is lookin' a lot Healthier these days. So Props to Him.
That's too deep
Not to mention Rocket's role in the Avengers Infinity saga...I LOVED how crucial he was in that story.
First comment on the channel, keep going ! 🥳
How crucial was he?¿
I disagree. He did nothing.
@@mousmnwltr That's quite untrue. He was the one to take the Avengers to Thanos' planet after the destruction of the Stones (and also in Thor getting to Nidaveliir and creating Stormbreaker). He was also the one who connected the dots and located said planet. He's been an active hero within the next 5 years. After Stark came up with the design of the time travel machine, he was the part of the trio (Stark-Banner-Rocket) that actually worked on building the thing, tinkering with it and making it usable. When it comes to getting the Stones, while Thor was meeting his mother, Rocket actually recovered the Reality Stone. Yeah, he didn't have many lines or flashy action scenes, but he's been a good support character in IF and Endgame.
One easter egg I love but rarely see anyone talking about is the opening song of Volume 2. The song playing when we see Ego with Peters mom is called Brandy (your a fine girl) by the Looking Glass. This was a one hit wonder for the band and the only song that ever got popularity. Similar to how Peter was a one hit wonder for Ego, with Peter being the only child of Ego to carry his celestial powers. James Gunn purposely chose this song, for this reason.
Nice take I like it. 👍
Ego actually monologs about it, too which always makes me think it's why Meredith chose it. Plus I love the song for obvious reasons...😊
❤
Damn! Solid Easter egg right there 👊
No . Mantis is also his child lol
Rocket was the only original guardian who didn't got snapped by thanos, just as the original avengers
This just made me appreciate how much detail James Gunn puts into his movies. Everything he does is so well thought out. I think Rocket’s arc in the MCU has really been something special and I can’t wait to see how it gets resolved.
The way he lusts after small children is also great.
“A little continuity detail” *proceeds to say “the back of Peter’s hand remains cut from Nebula threw the dagger at him” 😂
James Gunn's work has always been extremely well thought out, and I love that about him. Everything has a purpose, every detail has a meaning.
That hidden easter egg has been quite the challenge to figure out over the years, since he has stopped responding to those theories I wonder if that means it will either be solved, or a huge hint given come Volume 3? I guess we have to wait and see!
Excellent Deep Dive, look forward to seeing Vol.2!
He’s not with the company anymore he might as well just tell us it’s probably gonna be something simple and stupid 😮
I always felt the only thing missing to make the ending scene perfect in this movie was if Rocket was holding a piece of Groot in his other hand. Completing the chain and giving baby and future Groot that boost.
I’m gonna miss the Guardians 😭😭😭 I’m not ready to say goodbye, I absolutely love the Guardians movies (my dad as well) the thing I love the most about the Guardians movies is the soundtracks, Gunn has good taste in music
Absolutely love both Guardians movies and can’t wait for Vol. 3. These movies mean a lot to me
Oh, not just you, my friend.
Same here. All 3 bring me to tears every time I watch them. Just cried thru the whole 3rd movie last night lol
I've always wondered what would've been his reaction to Thor & and the Asgardians calling him a rabbit.. it was heartwarming how Thor never looked down on him.. it's almost as if Thor knew what kind of attrocities he may have have gone through
So happy Rocket is finally getting the recognition he deserves
Rocket is one of the best characters played by Bradley cooper. The depth and humor this character has wouldn't have come out if someone else had voiced him.
With Vol.3 nearly looming we all feel very emotional for Rocket.
I freakin' love this movie with my whole heart. It is easily one of the best additions to the MCU.
A friend gave me this movie on Blu Ray bc she didn't have a player and thought my kids would like it...turned out I liked it more than any of them so it gets credit for totally turning me on to Marvel. Ironically I wasn't super interested in this particular movie and not fully sold on MCU in general. I just realized why this movie was the catalyst watching this review...it really did start to connect all the infinity threads.
Agreed. It turned lesser known characters into household names. The entire movie just hits different.
Here's a fun fact about "stuff" glowing under blacklight; just having the light itself won't do it. You need to have a filter in front of it that blocks all the extra "noise" so it just reflects the specific light beams bouncing off instead of every beam.
Great observations...it's true that the Guardians Movies have done most of the world building in the MCU...I was not invested in the story of the infinity stones and the interconnectedness of the MCU until seeing GOG Vol 1. Even as standalone movies...they have been truly fun, imaginative...well put together and fantastic...it's a shame to see the end of them but they will be forever loved...kudos to the creative team and thanks Eric..hope we finally find out that secret Easter egg😂
@The Deep Dive I can tell this is such a labor of love for you. This review of Vol. 1 is so informative and peels the layers of the movie. Cannot wait for your review of Vol. 2 and then to see Vol. 3 in theaters. Keep up the great work on these Marvel films and others you pick! I really enjoy the content.
I still consider this my favorite MCU movie tied with Winter Soldier and despite my excitement for volume 3, it’s very bittersweet knowing this really is the end of the Guardians trilogy. 😢 #WErGroot
GOTG will return
Now I understand what he meant when he said that, his story is actually sad😢. I'm happy for him now after Volume 3. I hope to see him more in the future.
Loved this so much!! Such great work, can’t wait for Vol. 2 deep dive
One of my all-time favorite MCU movies!
Can't wait for Vol. 3!
An amazing video again. Thank you for doing what you do, Erik! ❤
Thanks bro! Loved this deep dive a lot! You’re the best!
When your are talking about the cut on the backside of peters hand you mixed nebula and Gamoras name when talking about the knife Gamora throws at Peter to get the orb. Either way I knew what you meant and still put your two channels the best for marvel. Keep up the good work.
Great job, love this movie so much. Thank you for this Deep Dive. 💜
From what I recalln it is not the inner light of Quill's father that killed his mother, but hs father did plant the tumor voluntarily and htat's what triggers Quill's anger.
I still love that prison jumpsuit detail. How neither Rocket nor Quill have any black on their leg. Just "petty" crimes like theft, money laundering, arson, etc. (even though Rocket's is enough to almost fill his entire leg)
Meanwhile both Drax and Gamora have thigh length counts of murder, but Gamora seems to have more thick black lines compared to Drax's multiple "small" ones
Subscribed, liked, and commented. Been watching you for years and have a new account. Keep it up Eric!!!
These are so good man, incredible job 🙏🏽
In the film Guardians 3, here are some ciphers that I found using the tool at Gematri~nator. “Bad dog” = 33. Rocket was assigned number 89P13, in words is “Eight nine p one three” = 107. Compare that to the name of the first airbrush painting shown in the film “The Best of Times”(1984) at time mark 7:11. Cheers.
I just noticed at 23:47 something I never noticed before. When Picard tugs at his uniform, his communicator pops off. Can't tell you how often I've seen this and never noticed.
thank you Voss.... keep it up. love these deep dives.
Keep the videos coming!!!
I love this deep dive. Rocket's always been my favorite, but now I am certain he's also James Gunn's favorite as well ^_^
James Gunn himself has said so
It's great how this seems to be one of the few MCU movies that is getting better with time as more and more details information come out of this almost 10 year old movie.
Outstanding work Erik.
Can’t wait to watch this deep dive!!!
Spot on! Genius writing and film. Great- as always- break down and dive into the details. Ye ye ye!! Thanks for the fun!!
Well done mate
the whole mcu is built on rocket thats just amazing this movie is what really pulled me into the mcu and now im here 4 life
I really appreciate these kind of videos very well thought out
I love that the in universe last song for Awesome Mix Vol 1 is O-Oh Child. It’s Meredith saying goodbye to her son, telling him things might be sad now (with her death) but they will get better. Then that the first in universe song on Awesome Mix Vol 2 is Ain’t No Mountain, Meredith saying she will always be with Peter.
What a lovely thing to see as soon as I open up RUclips
Amazing content! Thank you!!
Loving this channel, great work Voss.
YES I WAS WAITING FOR THIS
Whats the name of the song at the end of the video??
Kudos on the vid by the way
Such a great movie and Ronan is an under rated villain in the movies; he was so well done
I love Guardians of the galaxy movies!
I can’t wait to watch volume 3!
Look I am hoping that you could mention Rocket’s moments in both Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame as he had some interesting moments in those films connected with Thor and some of the other characters.
Wait, is Rocket just James Gunn? Does he represent his perspective in the MCU?
He has said that so yeah
What if both movies are just a memory loop that Wyndham is playing for a captured rocket to understand his history since leaving, and 3 is the crew getting him back!
Oh, that'd be a hell of a twist. Everything we've seen from Rocket's POV from GotG to Endgame (and the Christmas Special) is just a replay of events from the perspective of the High Evolutionary. The Guardians as we know them are actually older than we thought (which could probably explain the rapid growth in Groot).
That sounds so sad
That sounds track is 🔥. Back in 2017 it was my goto album to listen to on the bus to work
Always love your videos Voss.
great work.
Words cannot describe how much I loved this! Thank you!!!!!!!😍
Well said Eric 👍
Will you also do a breakdown for the holiday special?
BTW I absolutely LOVE your theme music. 🤘
Amazing analysis as usual... Would love to see a video about Yellowjackets!
Great job.
Now that's a deep dive invosstigation. Kudos on the great job done here. Shalom
I think you missed the green toy Yondu had on his control console that was revealed to be given to him by peter in the Holiday Special
I waited for it all the day ❤
"I'm gonna get that arm..."
Great deep dive as always! Respectfully you should have explicitly tied the Kevin Bacon and Footloose to Peter dancing to save the galaxy
Just watched this yesterday such great films. I'll watch number 2 soon all ready for the big finale😭
Behind his ear is his helmet, not his translator. You see him remove it and put it on gamora to save her
THANKS FOR THIS!!!!!
This Guardians of the Galaxy Analysis video is great,
I'm with you, it was just so unexpected from Disney
The part where you say he’s cranking the volume up with his thumb is wrong because the volume adjuster is on the silver part of the walkman not the other side. It actually is a tone adjuster. I know for a fact because I have that walkman.
The creatures at the beginning (orlonians?) Are actually jumping at him, possible looking to nibble on him. It looks like he kicks 2 as they jump at him, and grabs a 3rd as it jumps near his face, he doesn't go out of his way to go and grab it. Otherwise, most lower creatures work on fight or flight. So if they aren't running from him...
Great review. Really enjoyed all the wonderful memories.
" WE ARE GROOT !!! "
I always thought tye gaurd listening to the music mirrored the scene from George Romeros
Day of the dead
Where Bub the zombie has the same expression when he's got a Walkman on and listens to music
You smashed it again Voss!! 👏
Great stuff here.
NerdRiot, please bring back the Lokigator Tee.
The one with a small Lokigator in the top left (or top right would fine too)
Less is more!
Evident by the thunder lover polo shirt selling out
16:24 you called Gamora "Nebula"
Am happy I caught that😂
But what about the space background behind Merideth?! I've never heard anyone talk about it 😢
13:40 13:55 now that you mention it , knowing now that gamarra it's the last of her kind makes it even worse when Thanos threw her off the ledge, his "daughter"and the last of her kind!... That's heavy
Even in a rocket centred video he includes the we are groot line cause it’s that good
Deep dive is my favorite NR channel
This made me think about Mikhail Bulgakov's (author of "Master and Margarita" novel) story "Heart of a Dog" where a surgeon replaces a dog's pituitary gland by the one from a human. In the story they choose a very wrong human as a donor, and they reverse a dog to be a dog. But could this be a reverse, when a rather good human's gland is placed in a boody of a racoon, and here we have Rocket? I unfortunately haven't read the comics, so I don't know anything about The High Evoluteonary (most likely I've spelled the name wrong), but I have this vibe of a person who seeshimself as untouchable genious.
This movie is literally my marvel comfort movie. This movie brings me back to 2014 everytime. god i love this movie!!!
When the Cardinals left St. Louis, they were known for more than a couple years as the Phoenix Cardinals, before settling on Arizona. Just an observation. Great video, as always. We love y'all, buddeh. Thank You for all of your efforts. They will never go unnoticed.
Your pet project RUclips channel has turned out to me one of my favorite things to look forward to
First! So glad you’re doing the Guardians before volume 3. Keep it up!
@@DeepDiveNR The hype is real and this def adds to it! If this third film sticks the landing, Captain America will have competition as best MCU trilogy 👍
This was great!!! I’m very interested to hear about exactly what Rocket is(in the MCU). Perhaps he was human and his conciseness was somehow transferred into this Racoon type creature ??!
Poor rocket... I love him. He deserves all the good things. All the good things. There should be a "Rocket Raccoon Appreciation Day" or something
One thing I can’t get over in the Mcu is that tony and gamora could have been saved so easily all they had to do was get dr strange to use the time stone and revert their body’s back to living, although I understand that it would most likely have ruined the story I still just can’t get over it
I love seeing gotg getting the respect and attention it deserves 😊🥰
Especially love the last point 😂
16:24
It's 12:30am and I had to rewatch this part 3 times to confirm you said Nebula instead of Gamora.
Anyone else notice that at 23:50 when they show Captain Picard tug on his uniform shirt, his communication badge flies off?
When Groot yells "We are Groooot!!!" That's Vin Diesel saying "We are family" lol he just had to add a fast and furious reference😂😂
I have to watch this before watching Vol 3 break down, just to get into the mood. What a trilogy. Every single movie packed with goosebumps and emotional moments. Nailing it. Even though we never hear Rhodey saying “Boooom looking for this?!” 😂 transitioning my habit of including “Booom looking for this” in an comment under most of the videos, to this channel.
Also imma watch this in parts cause I’m very sleepy 😂
Edit1: watching, part 2 - watching this and after seeing Vol3, rockets story is peak. My favorite living character in the mcu right now, not even kidding. 🦝🦝
Edit2: Part 3 of watching. Just listened to James Gunn, and the love and thought he puts into these characters, that’s the reason to success.
"Well, I didn't ask to get made!"
The High Evolutionary: "You're welcome."
16:24 Gamora* not Nebula but great video as always
My thinking for rocket wanting prosthetics is that Lylla had robotic arms teefs had things near his eyes from him wanting a eye and the leg for floor
