These videos are a huge undertaking. Between being a new dad and everything else Voss is trying to do, I’m just glad he didn’t completely abandon it. Nothing wrong about taking some time and reassessing goals. I’d much rather have one awesome deep dive a month than Eric get to the point where he hates doing what he does.

I really appreciate this. I think the best time I had making one of these was the analysis of Mad Mad Fury Road. Not that that was my best video, I don't really know, maybe it was, but it was the first one in a while where I really had to slow down and take time with it, and I ended up just loving the explorative places I could go with my analysis. That's how I want to approach all of these. I want to live with one great film per month and put everything I have into it.

1:12:23 and remember, the Numenorean line is Elrond’s line too. The kingdom of Numenor comes from Elros, the twin brother of Elrond who chose, like Arwen, to give up immortality and live as a mortal man. In seeing Aragorn crowned Elessar, Elrond is also seeing the redemption of his brothers House and Line, a brother he has not seen in ~6,000 years.
With Isildur, Elrond saw his brothers line fail and break. And you can see Elrond’s despair that “the line of Kings is broken.” Which means so much more to him. But in Elessar, Elrond sees his brothers House healed. The line of Kings is redeemed.

1:06:45 I haven't seen anyone online mention this, but I always enjoyed the scene where Sam saves Frodo and Frodo reaches out to grab Sam's hand BEFORE the ring is destroyed. It's another moment of redemption where I imagine that the ring still influences Frodo, but somehow, through sheer willpower, he can fight past it and defeat its influence by saving himself.

The amount of work that went into telling these stories on the screen never ceases to amaze me. Then I found your channel and proceeded to watch all three of your deep dive breakdown of each movie…how much work you must have put into this…simply incredible. And unlike some of the other analogies I found on RUclips…your videos never put me to sleep because it was so well done and so entertaining and interesting. I enjoy all of your breakdowns Voss as I found you forever ago with your original marvel breakdowns! Can’t remember which one, but you always make your videos so interesting and amazing! I love learning about these films (and more) in true detail especially as someone who has never even read a single comic book! It’s clear that you’re passionate about everything you do as I hope you’re enjoying the father life as well! Bless you Erik! Can’t wait to watch this video throughout the day!
Edit: wow! Truly wow! Thank you again Erik and I hope you can take a rest before diving into your next series! Regardless of how long they make take, I will be here supporting you like everyone else I’m sure!

You brought tears to my eyes sir. Addiction is a weight no, one, can carry alone. I can hear/feel that you know something about this. No matter the side you've lived, you are a good man. A great human. Both sides hurt, but both sides can help heal the other.

@1h mark...This is why IbLove Erik Voss Soooooooo Much!! That was soooo well said! Having struggled with major depression/personality disorders since my early teens & substance abuse for about 10+ years, the "I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you" always hit me hard, and made me appreciate ALL my family & friends that never gave up on me! This has been wonderful! Love the Deep Dives sooo much! Thanks to Everyone that helps make these videos happen!

Well earned awards to everyone that worked on this series. This has been an epic journey for the Lord of the rings and I don't think I have felt the emotions hit as hard remembering these great moments. Thank you Deep Dive crew for bringing us back to middle earth on a great cinematic journey but also letting us connect better with what truly was conveyed for us so long ago. 😊🙏😭

39:45 Eric says, Gandalf's line is the midpoint of the movie. It is also the midpoint of the video. Good job!

An hour long video a month??? That’s incredible pacing. Retrospective channels for video games normally take months to come out and I feel like this is comparable. You’re doing great. Keep it up!

Voss, you did not fail! You persevered - trying, learning, and growing into a better way of doing things IS success. I firmly believe that every time a RUclipsr (or people in ANY profession!) decide to make a change because they bit off more than they can chew is worth celebrating. Even more so when family is involved.
Either way, thank you for these incredible videos. And thank you for taking care of yourself!

Cant believe i hadnt seen this breakdown yet. Im a huge fan dating back to 2016-2017 area on your New Rockstars page. Do not dare apologize for being burned out rd christmas last year. I am in the process of having my 1st born with my wife, finally finishing my bachelors degree at age of 39 and can totally parallel the exhaustion. I will not allow you to get down yourself. I found the new rockstars page accidentally one day breaking down one of the MCU films to my godson/nephew mere months before the passing of my own father in march of 2017. Yours and your co content providers/ conworkers very elaborately detailed breakdowns and explanations of so many different movie titles and genres since the creation of all your channels helped me and my nephew/godson get thru a very painful and scarring moment in our lives and have always looked forward to anything you release. Thank you for so many beautiful breakdowns and articulate explanations since the beginning and going forward.. this video breakdown was phenomenal and wish i coulda seen it when it first came out. I look forward to so many breakdown/ explanation videos in the future and just want to say thank you for everything so far my good man😂
