- This is a video about how to get your crested gecko to eat bugs preferably dubia roaches if you can if it's allowed where you live. you may have been told that crested geckos don't need bugs and the only thing they need is they're powder mix but in actuality it is a really good idea for them to eat bugs. I really don't know why some breeders or pet stores make it sound so easy and they try to simplify it by saying that they don't need bugs as a selling point. Find out why you should want them to eat bugs. It may take some time but it's worth the effort.
What about blending insects into a smoothie, and adding a bit of it to the Pangea mix?
You can but it's not as good as live because they enjoy hunting them
My crested gecko is gonna be a year old in July and still refuses to eat a dubia roach can you please help me. Can I put him into a tub and put a dubia roach in there would that work?
You can smash the roach alittle to expose some gut juice to entice the gecko to eat it. You can also put them in a tall sided dish so they cant escape.
My gecko is going to be 3 and she basically never eats bugs she use to chace crickets when she was a newborn but ever since she turned 2 she never wants to eat them? I just stood giving her crickets and roaches but I'm going to try Hornworms later to get her excited for worms again
sometimes they just dont eat them as often when they are adults
my crested gecko has no interest in insects. it is about three years old now and is eating powdered food and appearing healthy but just won’t eat crickets. i have tried many times over the years and she has come close, but never actually eaten one. i have tried everything from putting them in her cage to in a critter keeper to taking the heads of to dipping them in her food and she just shows no interest. she is definitely underweight but still growing. anyone have any advice? i’m worried she isn’t getting enough calcium and protein though i do have her on pangea growth and breeding formula.

When they get older into adult age they stop eating as often. How old is yours??

Well I would keep on trying you might want to hold off a week or two and then try again
What time in the day do i feed my gecko?
Probably at night since they are nocturnal
