    Gentleman you are amazing. Thank you so much for this video. I have learned so much. I purchased a door-handle-hanging neck hammock but then when it arrived I was scared to use it. You have given me the information I need to assess myself first and the confidence that the hammock will then be ok to use. God bless you.

    Dear Sir, thank you for this video. I have been diagnosed with neurogenic Thoracic Outlet Syndrome with a cervical rib in C7 on the left side. A cervical traction unit is being used for my PT. Is it advisable and good to use this for my condition? If you could please let me know I would appreciate it very much. Thank you!

      I know its a late comment, but try classical stretch/essentrics. It's $15 to join, and though you get a whole body exercise, she mainly focuses on the spine. You stream the service.

    Is this ok to do if you have lost the curve in your neck?

    • @ohmygoddessxoxo7046
      @ohmygoddessxoxo7046 4 года назад +9

      Yes, all of my discs are compressed in my neck and I've lost the curve in my neck too. I've been legally disabled due to my neck pain since an auto accident in 2006. I'm in pain management and am on narcotics 24/7 to treat the #10 pain. When I can no longer achieve pain relief I have a family member perform traction as shown in the video. If you've lost the curve in your spine the way to achieve pain relief is to put the curve back, obviously, so it helps if they lift straight up and then pull. They can alternate between both positions, pulling straight back and holding, release. Then lift straight up, hold, then release. Pull straight up, then pull back, hold, then release. Any combo for as long as possible is fine. If you experience tightness and/burning you can relax your neck and have them pull their right hand up, then left, then right, then left etc. Your neck will naturally turn/fall back and forth from side to side thus working/strengthening your neck. Basically they are just shaking your head from side to side for you but it releases tension, relaxes and strengthens your neck and improves range of motion in your neck. Not only does it help to keep steady tension on the neck, like they said, for several minutes straight or until your partner gets tired but they can apply tension in several sets resting in between too, if that is easier for them. The longer, overall, that you are able to remain in traction the better but even just a few minutes can bring relief. Sometimes your neck will crack doing this and that is always extremely satisfying but it's not necessary to obtain relief, usually. It's also common to experience more substantial pain relief the following day rather than instant pain relief. Remember, you are stretching a lot of soar and outright painful muscles so don't expect to go from a #10 pain to zero just by cracking your neck. It's similiar to starting a new workout routine. The relief will come slowly over a matter of hours or overnight after completing your traction. When you first start, go very slow and don't overwork your neck. Take it easy, gradually increase your traction and give it a few hours. This is THE ONLY way to reduce my pain without a combo of very strong narcotics, muscle relaxers and anti-inflammatory meds and THE ONLY way to get relief when those meds stop working or can no longer relieve my pain. If you are able to do this for 5-15 minutes a night, every night then you'll probably get and remain pain free, even if you suffer from forward head posture induced daily. (From long hours on desk duty or computer/phone use) My family is scared to do this because they are afraid they will break my neck & end up killing me. It's possible, there was a Instagram model killed by her Chiropractor a few years back when he was cracking her neck but just becareful, like I said. Go slow, don't over due it or rush it and you'll be fine. Also, I use a simular machine, the blue & black one that you lay on, strap your head into and has 2 pumps. One for the neck and one for your back. The machine in the video only does the neck. It's designed to push your neck back into its correct position when you pump it up. It literally pushes your neck back into place. The last time I saw one online it was about $100-$150. You could probably pick one cup even cheaper now. I hope this helps. Good luck to you, may you feel better soon!

    Please learn the difference between pounds (of traction) and pressure. You didn't apply 10 pounds of pressure early in the video, it was 10 pounds of force. Pressure is the amount of force acting on a certain area, i.e., pounds per square inch.
