    I worked with a nurse who was round shouldered or in a hunched shoulder position. I would go and gently pull her shoulders back so she was straight and did they several times until I realized that all I had to do was put my finger on her chin and push it back and her shoulders went into good position. Putting your head over your spinal column works beautiful

    I just want to say thank you so much for your videos. I was diagnosed this past week with having an overly-straight neck with a pinched nerve (cervical radiculopathy in upper chest and left arm) and slight deterioration around C5, and at first it was a very upsetting and scary diagnosis (especially since I am only 30) but after watching your videos I feel prepared to help myself take care of my neck and spine so I can do as little further damage as possible. Thank you for all your videos, they're incredibly helpful and very informative.

    The good methods they are describing are called the McKenzie method. There are some good books on this. There is also a long tubular pillow the McKenzie people sell that you put in the pillowcase with your regular pillow that helps support your neck while you sleep. Both have helped me immensely.

    One thing people need to look for with a chin tuck is if you feel pain in your chest down into your armpit and arm you may have a problem with a herniated disc in your cervical spine. I was doing this for months without knowing that pain was from a bulging disc at the c6c7. After 18months of sever pain in arm, neck and chest it was concluded I needed surgery. With the scalene stretch lean flat on a wall it’s allot easier

    I tried using the towel to stretch my neck and within 10 seconds I could hear sound muffeling, my face going all tingly and my vision blurring out to White. It was all my fault tho, I was trying to watch this with the volume down so I didn't catch the part about not pulling so hard, also my towel was kinda thin. Pretty sure I was putting a lot of pressure on the arteries in my neck, like i said, all my ba boo 8+ content and its been very helpful for help me fix this painful back and neck. Thanks and keep safe and healthy out🌞 there guys!

      Go to the right side, identical and opposite to the spot where it hurts on the left side and massage hard. (You will find pain at this right side too. apply pressure and find the painful spot on that right side) after the acupressure it should kick out the pain on the left side. You should feel the relief right then. Do this 3 times a day. Never go to the spot where it first hurts. You inflame it more. This applies to any parts of your body. If left knee hurts, go to right knee....if both sides hurt there are ways. But usually one side hurts first. You wait...and it becomes chronic. You wait longer, it will go to your hips, knees...if you practice qi gong and Tai chi everyday, you avoid these problems. It is a chore and that's why most people have problems.

Please do video on posture straps or braces and if they work. Husb MD suggested one but with no advice to stretch front chest area and strengthen upper back to help correct posture for neck pain. Heat can help too after to relax.

    Chin tucks cause severe axillary, subscapular, and brachial plexus pain on me, and I detest this as a part of my PT...why do they keep thinking that doing this will improve my discomfort, when it makes my cry?

    • @tinaamariee832
      @tinaamariee832 4 года назад

      Chin tucks are the sole reason I REFUSE to go back to PT. My doctor & the therapist don’t seem to understand this. What’s the point of going to PT if imma spend the next 2 days in bed crying bc that exercise hurts so much🙄

    • @smilesmile7330
      @smilesmile7330 4 года назад +3

      If it's too painful then probably the muscles aren't ready bc they've been in bad posture too long. Try using a pillow or rolled towel and just lie on ur back and let the muscles naturally relax into that chin tuck position. U might have to gradually use lower height pillow until it's comfortable.

    • @analyticalbeing6445

      tinaamariee😘 where on your body does it hurt to do these awful exercises? Direct pain or referred like what I described? Can you believe that two assistants laughed at my face I was making when I did these the last time? Tears were streaming down my face, and they found it funny. That is a hard position to do without looking hideous as well, but it definitely wasn’t professional to laugh...they must not have any pains to be able to empathize

      Smile Smile i just have a problem with one size fits all...I am definitely a fan of Bob and Brad, the two most famous physical therapists...on the internet, but in my REAL life, I do not get a lot of sympathy or partnership with practitioners allowing ME to give input...it’s usually about pain pills and steroids, antidepressants, etc...which I refuse to take. It is disheartening...anyway....I’d like to try acupuncture, better orthotics, maybe Joseph Ciprell or Mondragon...I have been made worse by local chiropractic care....I was bedridden for a month after a “surprise neck adjustment” after I explained that ONLY the activator has been recommended for me...it was a new guy, and he felt that my opinion was trash...about MY body

      Kathy Musgrove I am debating a breast reduction and am trying out certain stretches and yoga to increase the muscles that hold the body upright. I can already see a difference after a few weeks. I would suggest doing some research on how to strengthen your core and stretch your chest muscles. Bob and brad have good stretch and excersize videos regarding these areas, just search it up. There are also some yoga videos for big chested women + posture awareness here on youtube :)

    Hi guys! Bob, you mentioned in this video getting light headed when leaning the head back. Well, this happens to me. In fact, I can actually tell that the left side of my brain is not getting any blood, and I start to pass out. My doctor sent me for some diagnostics, but because its transient (though happens often), they were unable to find anything. My diagnosis was left carotid syncope, which I know doesn't mean much... Can you tell me what is actually happening? Or, what it could be?

    I would love to what are safe stretches for a c-spine that is fused from c3 to T1. (only paid for C3 to C6--my spine fused the rest of me together on its own!) So far ALL of these cause extreme dizziness and a swimming sensation and I don't know if I should keep going.

    My PT is also twisting my neck left & right very hard. They R also having me doing heat on the neck as I turn my head left & right.
    I'm so confused now.

    Any thoughts on head-rolls? I've been dropping and subbing exercizes since discovering your channel this week. My recent routine has included about 30 seconds of head rolls. My neck pops a little, but I'm wondering if it's actually any good? Maybe I'll just do these two now and stop the head rolls. Anyway, love these videos!

    Hello Bob and Brad. Another great video. Is 3-5 seconds the new stretch duration instead of 15-30secs?? Is this new research?

    Can you do these exercises if you’ve had a cervical fusion?
