I made the cornbread from scratch. To the batter, I added 1/2 teaspoon chile powder and 1/3 cup medium salsa.

This looks amazing. And not overly complicated either, I appreciate that. I'm gonna make this tonight. The only thing I will do differently is put it under the broiler for 3-5 minutes after it's done to get some golden hour action. Crusty brown cheese zomg, I always do it.

I luv this recipe! I make it all d time except, no cream corn just reg corn, and I add ur other ingredients but I add a little bit of spaghetti sauce, even w taco seasoning n other spices. 👌😋 Yum!

I'd be using Turkey as well. No beef since 1985.
My mother would put mild jalapeno peppers in it mixed with the cornbread omg it was a hit every single time yum

Yep it's pretty much the same thing.
my dad used to make something like this, he would put a box of jiffy mix in the bottom and then the filling and the another box of jiffy mix on top... he would add Jalapeno slices to the top along with cheese... but no creamed corn.. just a big pot of pinto beans to go with it..

Looks so good definitely gonna try this. In the begining when you put the meat in the pan you didn't add anything. I usually will add water or oil to the pan first then put the meat in
If that's how you do it, stick to your way. Cooking is an art not an exact science. Everyone does it the way they like it. No right or wrong just preference.
