Found this today, and decide to make it. I added onion and cilantro to the ground beef and sautéd it with the meat. I added more Taco Seasoning because I love the flavor. Then I added sliced olives on top. Very delicious! I had one serving and going back for seconds. Thank you for the idea.
I put a layer of pinto beans drained a washed beans and fresh Roma tomatoes . I also fry the tortillas quickly in some vegetable oil it brings another flavor into check casserole I also dip them in enchilada sauce .
Nice! Like some of the comments....adding a few things is optional....you could add whole pinto beans or black beans, corn, green or red peppers, potatoes, or almost anything else to make this different each time. I really like the idea of cutting the corn tortillas into wedges. I also like the idea of making this ahead of time and giving it to someone who could pop it into the oven for their family. Wonderful idea for a great meal.
Made this last night for my mom and me and we both really liked it. First one of your recipes that I tried and it came together very easily. Lots of possibilities to modify it, too. Could add onions, bell peppers, black olives, etc.
Thank you for posting this recipe. My husband has been bugging me to make this casserole. I will try it this way first and then I will try it with black beans and corn. Looks easy and delicious. ❤❤❤🌮🌮🌮
I am trying this for dinner tonight, also subbing ranch style for chili beans. I don't see how the middle can end up crunchy as described but we will see.
Ive been asked to make a "taco" base for 30 people. They want others to donate the extras (cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, etc) on the night of the feed. Looks like ill make some adaptions, but definitely grateful for the advice to use yellow corn tortillas. Going with this plan! Any suggestions welcome. I.E. approximate amount of ground beef for 30 people. Wish me luck!
A dee-lish-us looking recipe. Thanks for posting. I want to make the taco seasoning, but I didn't see what amount of each ingredient I need to put in. If you can please give the measured amounts, that would be great! 🤠👍🏻
I just popped it in the oven for my husband. Used jalapeño ranch style beans and original hotel. It'll be too spicy for me, so I'll make myself something else.
I see this problem alot with cooks using a "liquid" measuring cup to measure dry ingredients. Cheese is a dry ingredient and should be measured in a dry measuring cup.

Ive made this for years. I add corn and sliced black olives to mine.
I used refried beans instead of the brown beans and it turned out really good
Sunday dinner!!

I'm going to try this. Looks Great ❤
Delish! So many different options you can do with this. I would fry up the tortillas a little for better flavor.
Thank you I’ll try this. Subscribed. 🇺🇸
Looks amazing
This sounds good! Ill be trying it soon!

Was the middle crunchy? How was it?
Going to be a dinner one day this week. I think instead of chili beans i am going to substitute with ranch style beans.
Or poop 💩 beans.
I think, I'm going to use black beans.❤
Love it

@@franniebanani6532omg you're hilarious..grow TF up
I use Jiffy Cornbread mix instead of tortillas
That’s tamale pie
You said a 9x13 pan in the video, and you have an 8x8 in the recipe/
I wished my wife would cook like this for me 😥😢😭
I just popped it in the oven for my husband. Used jalapeño ranch style beans and original hotel. It'll be too spicy for me, so I'll make myself something else.
Eating on a dime

This was not crunchy at all and didn't have a crunchy center as you suggested with the layering. It was ok, not what I expected. .
Try using Nacho Cheese Doritos instead of corn tortillas.
A potatoes masher works better...
I'll have to use it, thank you 😊
U NEED AN ELECTRIC CAN OPENER
Will cubed cat work?😊
A can of Rotel ???? No recipe won't subscribe
Yeah, this a no. You didn’t even warm up the tortillas so I don’t trust this
So warm your tortillas up before you make it. That's what I was thinking of trying to do first. Improvise and make it your own!
The tortillas cook during the cooking process and get warmed up 😅
Please make your recipes more accessible.
You lost me at chili beans. 🤣🥹
😂
Mexican casserole? hu
Please don’t call this Mexican food. Call it Taco Bell food, this is so wrong…🤢
This is a tex mex casserole. Don't insult something if you've never eaten it or tried it.
Right. Why call it Mexican casserole. Mexican don’t make casserole and there’s nothing Mexican about this. You are right this is Taco Bell
this looks like the whitest thing ive ever seen in my life. this is more like chili bean casserole which sounds good lol
I guarantee you my husband will love it!🌮🌮🌮
The “whitest” thing? Meaning what? 🇺🇸
