I love the topwater bites its so addicting. The blowup is just insane.
Nothing like it man!!
The ones you missed:
Tube Jigs - If you've got rocky bottom and faster moving water you can lighten that jig head and stay out of the danger zone easier.
Curly Tail Grubs - Simplest jig ever, works like crazy.
Black Buzz Baits - Dunno why black is the color, but especially late in the day toward dusk it slays them if there's any kind of topwater bite at all.
Spot on! 4” clear twister with silver flakes kill ‘em on the river for me.
This comment is a year old and still accurate! Every night when I hit the river for some night fishing I have a cream color whopper plopped and an all black choppo 90 and the black choppo is the one that NEVER misses! Crazy that black works in the dark haha 😂
@@jessicacole3548 black is actually a high-contrast color. If you and I were seeing further into the ultra-violet spectrum it would stand out like a sore thumb.
Clear with silver flake 4” twister tail on an 1/8 oz unpainted jighead is my killer river smallie bait. It produces for me when others don’t.
That plopper bite is addictive.. 😆 it gets the heart pounding
Probably my favorite, but the best lure to get you bit is the Ned
Must have baits for smallies on the river? there's two!
1) jig*
2) pig**
*lighter weight for the river to avoid hangups and to drift in the current- many brands, i like Jimmy D's River Bugs (in black in all cases)
** uncle josh pork frog, black, number 11 on back of jig.
Thanks man as a 99% reservoir fisherman this is a big help. Really wanting to go for those mean river smallies.
Thanks man!! They are so much fun man!! Especially when u find a good one 4+ pounds they fight so hard!! Even the small ones will fool u, make you think you have a 4 pounder lol
One i would add Wacky Worm. Great lineup
I do like the wacky rig
Excellent video and great information. Thanks for sharing it bro.
Big facts! Can’t beat em!
Those are some beautiful clips of fish. I really appreciate the video. I wanted to let you know I've checked all my notifications and everything I have everything notified the only thing I've seen of yours lately and in my feed is your shorts, which I get it, just like a full-time job everybody needs a break. But I look forward to more videos from you josh. Tught kines good sir
Thanks for the info. Keep it coming
Great video man some of those I throw and some not so much. Definitely gonna try to experiment with some different lures this year. I been thinking of doing a video like this too. Always interested in what others throw on the river. I river fish more than anything else and have found what works for me in the Nolichucky doesn't work as well in other river's. Anyway thanks for sharing man.
4 inch senk works wonders with a nedrig I usually take my beat 5 inch ones and repurpose them
Awesome bait choices!
Thanks loads for the great info
bubby get the net best words spoken
I love pb&j trd on a 1/10 ned head. Specially early spring.
16:30 not only do I see the shad but that gut oh my God she is so healthy
Nice kayak fishing video! Subbed!
good stuff..Josh. good stuff..
Thank ya Sir!
Holy Jesus, Blessed !!! 🙂🏆🎣
Thank you for the video
Thank you for watching!
Hell yeah 🤙
Nice vid
nice man
I use a jointed crankbait on my channel and it works evey time from the riverbank.
Nice man!! I may give one a try!! I threw a jointed jerk bait a few times before but never much luck
Good video! I have a very similar confidence line up. Seems the spinner bait and crank do better with more current for me.
Yeah I agree, they don't have time to think about it, when you run it by them in that current they have that split second to just destroy it lol
@@BASSnBEER I learned rivers fishing for trout… it’s amazing how similar all fish species are. Big streamer in some current.. isolated eddy, and… bam! Big angry brown trout!
Sweet vid brother . I like fishin a 4 inch Ned as well . I got my pb on Cherokee this Spring . 4.1 lb 19 inch even with a Keitech Leech on the Pro Lock EWG . #easttennesseebrownfish
Nice man!! Back when I won the B.A.S.S. NATION event up there my main player was the keitech paddle tail on a small tungsten jig head!
@@BASSnBEER Yeah I remember that . We fish the Wildcats up there . We've came close with a second place finish and my pb was lunker that day . #INTHEMONEY #2👍👍
river2sea does work on lanier and catches em way back in the creeks great video man bass n beer im with it 👍 👌 ill chug one for you today i just subbed
Thanks brotha 🤙
Bubba…..he is a smart one.
i agree and I have good luck with a tube also
One of the most popular river smallie baits ever and I never throw it 🤷♂️
@@BASSnBEER it is probably my 1 producer
Bitsy bug and whopper plopper is hard to beat on the river. Give me a holler if you want to hit up the Powell or upper Clinch sometime.
Yeah I may plan a trip on the Powell here soon
Good stuff brotha! All good baits to throw anywhere. Except that stupid ned rig! Haha just kidding.
Lol those smallies love it for some damn reason man haha
You ever fished on the powell river in harrogate I caught a bunch of smaller small mouth but I think there was a couple nice ones I seen Sunday really nice float all the way down to Norris
No but I saw your pics and would like to do it man!! My buddy John would from Creek Fishing Adventures would probably join as well!
@@BASSnBEER dude I'd love to go with you and John those 2 guys I went with live in that area it was a long float like 6 hours I think but if we started early and took our time it could be 7-8 hours the water was just a little shallow for a peddal drive I think but it could be done just flipping it up on the shoals
what brand of side boxes on your trailer? thank you
They built them when they did the entire trailer!
What’s your skunk buster, the Ned rig?
Absolutely that or a small 2.8 paddle tail on a Ned head....
What is your weight preference for wacky rigs?
I usually throw them weightless
What size ned head you recommend?
I typically use a 1/8 Oz head!
If you didn't see any videos on the Ned rig you have major issues using a computer.
We started throwing the Ned like 4 years ago....you definitely didn't see them like that then!!!!
I liked it until you put that smallie in the live well.
Every smallie I've ever caught has been released healthy and swam away.....been several years since I fished a Jet boat tournament and kept them in a live well!! Super cold river water always kept them good and healthy, especially in a 50 gallon tank!!!!!
@@BASSnBEER thanks for the update!! Nice fish and good video!!!
4’10” I mean 310 I mean 410
