Before youtube, I'd test techniques and lures in a pool. The most interesting thing to me in this youtube age is how these "new jdm innovative super secret" techniques are things most fisherman who spent time on the water figured out themselves and never had the chance to make a tiktok
As a new angler I think it would be helpful if you throw some pool furniture in there to replicate structure so we can see how we are supposed to fish around that stuff.
After a while, it'll be come more intuitive, and you'll understand when to rip, when to back off, or just raise your rod tip just to hop over an obstruction. You'll learn all of this but still forget it from time to time and still end up hung up.....even when you do it right... it's just fishing!
Would love to see more vids like this! I'm kinda new to using jigs and such. I normally catfish and just use a bobber for everything else. So to see how the baits are used and stuff really helps me out!
Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.
Definitely down for more of these! This was really cool as someone who is just recently getting back into bass fishing to have this kind of a reference on not just how to rig the baits but how they move as well
Awesome. Very informative. I've never been very good at worm fishing, but watching you and Slaw rippin' and paying closer attention to your technique, I am gaining more confidence. I tried a drop shot for the first time, yesterday, in some fairly unfavorable conditions, and caught fish. Y'all keep up the good work. This type of video is greatly appreciated.
After watching this video I subscribed to your channel. Very informative and loved the underwater footage of how the bait moved . Thank you. I will be watching for more of your videos
Having the dual camera on screen where we can see you and the rig helps so much. This way we can see how much action you're giving the rod to produce the movement or bait action underwater. I'm new to fishing and understanding how much shake is too much or rodtip bounce I need to be using is very difficult to learn alone lol. Thank you so much. Still my favorite RUclipsr.
Definitely wanna see more of these teaching vids !!!! Entertainment is one reason I watch but mostly I’m watching these vids to try and learn something I can apply on the water! Great job Ben! Brian in SC
1st and foremost, I want to congratulate you on your success as a tournament pro. 2nd I was really surprised that you didn't comment on the twist lock belly weight system..Maybe I'm giving out a secret. But the twist lock belly weight is awesome with the robo worm..Twist lock, owner is a great hook..But please don't take any bite for granted...During the spawn, bass has the tendency to bite the bait below the hook area, to move it from the spawning area. I suggest 4/0 owner twist lock belly weight..Don't be in a hurry to set the hook, you may have to lead him like a dog with a little slack line, eventually setting the hook..PLEASE DON'T TAKE ANY BITE FOR GRANTED..THERE MAYBE A 10LB PLUS ON THE END OF YOU LINE..SPEAKING FROM EXPERIENCE.
I love these videos .. you should drop a technique video every month!!! .. in my opinion that what truly separates fishing channels on RUclips.. the ones that show there tricks to catching more fish to me are more valuable videos in general to watch as a Yotuber fan. Thanks for this video and keep up the good work broa!!
Great content! More videos like this please! Showing the underwater action and showing the rod action/retrieve really helps me to learn new techniques and really grasp the concept. Instead of the typical "rig this bait this way and retrieve it like this" type video which are good but this really shows and explains why these work. Would love to see videos like this with pretty much any different rigs/lures IMO. Personally I'd like to see a video like this in the pool with different swimbait rigs and how to work them.
Thanks 😊 that helps out alot. I have a challenge for you and your boy and whoever else wants to do it I did it with my kids last week.. they had to use something as a rod. Like my oldest made one out of a brom stick and tied a idk 10 foot leader my middle son made one out of a pvc pipe lol that thing was 20' long haha he did a short leader and walked it out haha should have seen the looks we got and my youngest did a gatorade bottle he wrapped a bunch of line around it and when he added his hook and wait to it he was able to throw it out then reel it back in by wrapping it around the bottle again not throwing the bottle lol. It was fun. Love the videos. Would love to fish with you keep up the great work 👍. Just know your greatly appreciated 🙂 thank you for what you do. I'm sure the keyboard warriors can say some nasty stuff. They're just jealous. You keep doing you.
Great video Ben. I can't believe how much I have learned from your videos. I have been fishing for over 50 years. Pretty much old school stuff. Your techniques have gotten me not just more fish but better fish.
16:04 Your mushroom head has a lot more sensitivity, eh? These are great tips, though. Thanks! Been trying to learn more about soft plastics and this is some really good stuff. Cheers!
That Coleslaw can sure hold his breath!!!! Thanks for sharing this!! Some I knew and some I now learned!! Love the videos!!! Keep up the great job man!!!
Underwater video is so much better, especially for beginners to our favorite way to fish. Very good presentations and excellent detailed presentation of all the little things that we all need to keep up with. Much appreciated … Thank YOU for your help 👍🎣🎣 3:54

Awesome. I'd like to see more of these types of videos. Its fun watching you catch fish, but learning to fish baits I'm unfamiliar with is pretty sweet too.
The neko rig is very Intriguing vs the ned rig. I would like to see a video like this with jerk baits underwater because I don't get the technique at all. Love the channel!
Hey I just wanted to say Thank you so much for your time and for your all of the great tips you give I love your channel I’d love to be able to catch fish like you lol. Awesome info in this video especially for the folks new to fishing, but Also these types of videos, done by someone who knows their their shit, help those of us who been trying to catch fish forever as well. I've fished most of my life, every chance I get, And still I have never thrown 3 of the 5 techniques you showed. I guess at 35 Im just old and set in my ways haha. Never really tried too many different lures here. I mostly just fish a private 55 acre lake that isn't super pressured. Up until last summer everyone living around the lake fished the same way. Some years back the man who owned most of the land and built the lake figured out someone who has never made a cast in their life could go out and throw a popper or a popping frog and freaking whack em or just A weightless senko style worm Texas rigged or wacky rigged in a green pumpkin or watermelon color and smoke em that way too. But now we catch a couple here and there. Nothing near what it was 2 summers back. Makes me curious that maybe they have seen the same baits 400 million times and it doesn't get a reaction anymore..? Underwater footage helps me understand the action of the plastics, to help optimize the effectiveness of it. Thanks 👍

As a new angler I think it would be helpful if you throw some pool furniture in there to replicate structure so we can see how we are supposed to fish around that stuff.
That’s a good idea. I think I throw my old pool furniture in my local lake for some structure. 🤣.
Your going to snag and break off. It's part of the deal.

Oublie l'hameçon et fais simplement un noeud autour du leurre avec ta ligne.
Pas d'hameçon = pas d'accroche 😂😂😂😂😂
I’ve been bass fishing my whole life and this was probably the most beneficial video I’ve ever watched. Thank you
Love the underwater footage. We need more of these!!!! As a newer angler this helped me tremendously
