In Olivia and Yunan's credits the caracter was listed as Darcy. Everyone who saw that knew. It was never a fanmade name.

Because every kid needs to know what that movie is, SAID NOBODY EVER. This gave major PTSD. I was just waiting for someone to get burned alive in a bear carcass.
Voice Acting Fast Facts: 1) Teen Andrias is voiced by Zeno Robinson, voice of Hunter the Golden Guard in the Owl House and Remy from Big City Greens, 2) Barrel is voiced by Jason Ritter, voice of Dipper from Gravity Falls, and 3) Leif is voiced by Cassandra Lee Morris, voice of Morgana in the popular video game Persona 5.
That’s where I recognised his voice from, the owl house! Thank you that was tormenting my mind and I couldn’t figure it out
When I heard Leif I was like “OMG ITS STACY FROM BARBIE AND SOTHIS/FEH FROM FIRE EMBLEM!”
"Don't you think it's time to say goodbye to those childhood friends of yours? " was a line spoken in one of the original trailers for this season. I'm predicting and almost confirming this now, Marcy's gonna try to break free and Andrias' Dad from the core will ask her this same question, possibly setting off King Adrias to free Marcy from the core.
So all this time, Andrias became evil because he has daddy issues? Makes sense.

What a shame things turned out that way, it might sound weird, but Andrias and his friends were actually really cute together. Like, shipping cute.
Also, I noticed that Leif, Barrel, and Andrias also bear the Calamity gem colors, but they seem to bear the colors of the trait they seem to lack. Leif is pink, the color of strength, but frogs in Amphibia are often believed to be scrawny and weak, Barrel is green, the color of wit, but Toads are often thought to be bloodthirsty, brutish warriors, and Andrias is blue, the color of heart, but Andrias is cold, cruel, and willing to kill children.

The name “Darcy” was a thing since the credits showed it in the voice cast section. Maybe you should check out the credits a bit more often. Especially with this episode, as the voice actors of past Andrias and his old friends are pretty neat.
Your not aware of the fandom theory of Leaf being related to Sprig in some form? It was a fairly popular theory since the torn up painting of Andrias and his old friends first appeared, and especially after the brief glimpses of them in the part of “True Colors” where Andrias gave a brief history of Newtopia’s past in that episode. With Leaf and Sprig both sharing the same pinkish skin and red hair and all. Kind of surprised you didn’t notice the resemblance between the two.
Kind of understandable that you have a hard time recalling that Plantar nature dance from season 2. Most fans usually remember the season 2 episodes that involve Marcy, Sasha, Newtopia and especially the season finale there.

Yeah the characters that live in Amphibia live a lot longer than someone like Ann, another character that's really old is Mrs. Croaker since Leopold said that " I think she was born that old. She looked exactly the same when I was a kid."
Normal Amphibian lifespan is just as long as human. Only the Royalty can live for thousand years.
@@HoaTruong-km9rk Yeah, when Hoppop's complaining about getting old and achey he says "40 years of farming will do that to you". Plus the robot factories were treated as mysterious old ruins that nobody knew the purpose of suggesting that several generations have passed since they were in use.
Andrias’ childhood toad friend was named Barrel (who was voiced by Jason Ritter)
The core is a computer so it would KINDA make sense that it would be a computer sound lol
I loved the fact that the root of all evil pretty much took Midsummer inspiration which is crazy. I don’t know how they got the Disney okay.
Scientific fact about actual Amphibians: Frogs and Toads live between 10-12 years, Newts live between 12-15. Olms are the longest living Amphibians in the world, clocking in at an average of 70 years. Judging by how the show depicts each culture, the Frogs have to undergo the backbreaking work of farmers for their entire life and are bound to be exposed to the bacteria in Amphibia firsthand; Toads get in hefty and healthy amounts of exercise each day, but they live in gross envrionments; Newts seem to stay in shape by practicing fire-swordfighting, but even though they live in a clean environment, it lacks the necessary bacteria most Amphibians need to survive to their full lifespan. The olms live in their natural environment which remains (For the most part) unchanged. Basically, I think Leif and Barrel are long gone by this point. In Amphibia, Frogs die first, Toads second, Newts third, and olms last.
Poor Barrel got screwed over by losing both of his friends at the same time then he died alone protecting the toad village.
A theory/note of mine on the back half of this episode:
This show clearly loves trinities that parallel the 3 gems, wit, heart, and strength. And it could not be more overt than having Andrias and his friends be colored as the gems are. So a brief theory on how they relate to the gems:
Wit: Barrel is the one who represents wit or rather, doesn't represent it. The temple for wit was a test of both ones wisdom and humility. "Only the worthy would have the wisdom to choose whether its better to win or have the humility to lose." Here Barrel is shown to be the less smart of the trinity, but is extremely humble and loyal to both his friends. This trait is what becomes his undoing when he relies on his humility and good faith in Leif and Andrias, instead of the wisdom to stop them both.
Strength: Leif represents strength, or yet the lack of it, she's smart and uses her words and charms to get out of conflict, both in the fight with her friends and by developing the hunting dance to enrapture an opponent instead of fight. The temple quote for Strength is "congrats brah, you finally know what it takes to go the distance, for what is true strength without persistence?" Leif is nothing if not persistent, she stopped at nothing to save her friends and home, even if it meant losing everything she wanted to save.
Heart: Andrias... his chest plate has an X over his heart... always has. (Foreshadowing) Gonna start with the temple quote here "Empathy alone is not enough, for what is heart without Responsibility!" Andrias was given the option to choose the responsibility of being king or the friends he kept around him. He let himself be confused by the fact the responsibility came from someone who represents his heart as well, his father. But Andrias was not aware that his father doesn't care about him, and his friends were the family he found and chose, but he threw them away for a responsibility he now seems bitter to hold.
Each in parallel to the 3 humans who came crashing down near the legacy of the 3 friends,
Anne, who had a heart so big, but didn't understand that being responsible is what lets others come to care for you as well, and that family is not just who you're born to, but friends and community you become a responsible member of.
Sasha, who had immense strength physically and emotionally, but lacked the drive to go the distance and lacked a real goal for herself to persist on her path to.
Marcy, who was intelligent indeed, and very wise, but her lacking humility was the crux of them all coming to that world in the first place. She lost sight of who she was going to hurt by striving to keep them together with her knowledge of the box, for had she been humble enough to admit her troubles, her friends may have been able to offer a way out, or at least been saved on being *stabbed in the back*.

the "don't you think is time to say goodbye to those childhood friends of yours" is from the end of season 2 a trailer, when Darcy appears for the first time and does the neck cracking thing. I don't know why they would put something that wasn't in those episodes or had nothing to do with darcy there but tbh it scared the sht out of me when I watched the trailer for the first time so good job ig
every time I watch the full end credits I remember the lead character designer's name is "Joe Sparrow" and that that's the name of Marcy's bird and it takes me off guard every time lol

I think this episode was excellently done when it came to establishing the unfortunate circumstances that led to Andrias's current actions without making him sympathetic- Leif's actions and Andrias's hurt are both understandable, and it makes you feel like, if they all just had more time to talk things out without the Core's interference, they could've figured things out. Even so, Andrias still sided with his father and the Core, and he still is directly responsible for establishing the oppressive caste system that toads and (more so)frogs had to live under for a millennium, just because his -polycule- friends betrayed him. He's not just acting horrible because of the Core's influence, he really _is_ that cruel, whether or not he started out that way.
So Past Andrias who's voice actor is Hunter from The Owl House turned evil beacuse Leif took the box. Understable actully, and the fact that Andrias's dad is in the core scares me
Leaf is definitely Sprigs ancestor as she did the Planter family hunting dance
Darcy absolutely creeps me out... but I'm glad to know Marcy's in there somewhere and that the core still has retained small bits of Marcy's personality.

OMG DID ANDRIAS THROW SPRIG OUT CAUSE HE RERMININDED HIM OF LEAF
I'm gonna be honest though. I wish we cold have traded some of the earth filler episodes for more flashback stuff. For me this just kinda felt lacking and in need of more build up. Like, maybe instead a two episode special that actually shows the strong bonds formed between the three of them, and also flashes Barrel and Leif out as actual characters we should care about. I just think Andrias's backstory could use more oomph than what we were given.
i don't rlly feel like the root of evil was filler tho, now they have more recruits and allies for the war and sorted out past confilct that couldve affected them in battle
When Andrias was watching what remained of the portrait burning while ( *shudders* ) Darcy was doing _terrible, awful_ 😖 😱 😨 😰 things to Marcy's mind 😰😱🥺😣😔, he was thinking of what Leif said, and actually looked _sad_ 😟😔. Even though it seems like he's going to go through with it, conquering and strip mining Earth and exterminating the human race isn't what he really wants 🤨😟🤔, but what his father, Aldrich, along with the Core (which he apparently is now a part of 😰😱), wants 😠😡.
I noticed that Leif did the planter dance, and you know how sprig and poly have pink skin and sprig has orange hair Leif also has pink skin and orange hair so I’m starting to think she is related to the planters!
Fun Fact: King Aldrich is voiced by William Houston. He also voiced King Vendrick in Dark Souls II, who served as the inspiration for King Andrias.

I still think Marcy will get out of her mental confinement and destroy the Core from within on-by-one as they scream for a mercy they do not deserve. (Possibly when Anne releases Marcy's Calamity powers)I really do not like Darcy - their appropriation of Marcy's quirks is invasive, rude and too close to cultural appropriation for comfort. The Core has doomed itself - Good!
