Andreas may say that he's let go of the past, but he still uses those glasses.
All the callbacks in this episode- the Mossman that Anne and Wally saw, Apothecary Gary, Barrel's hammer, the Plantar Family tracking dance, among others- prove that Amphibia has no filler episodes. It boggles the mind that there are people who still claim that certain episodes are filler.
There just owl house fans. Amphibia deserves the Peabody award. Amity isn't human so her relationship with Luz isn't really bisexuality. Well anyway Amphibia is more orginal and fun to watch.

That Barrel is the same one mentioned in Barrels Warhammer, his Hammer belongs to Grime now after all these centuries, crazy such a famous Toad was friends with Andrias
We need the characters to have a conservation with lief and barrel, like a lion king sort of thing.
Let's not forget Barrel also has Dipper's voice.

I'm really surprised that you didn't comment on the fact that young Andrias has the same voice actor as Hunter from The Owl House and that Barrel has the same voice actor as Dipper from Gravity Falls.

Imagine if before Amphibia aired we got the clip of Leif’s vision for a “trailer”. It would make no sense then but would definitely play a good role in the show! I luv ur reactions btw :)
Here's an interesting tidbit: In the episode Wally and Anne from season 1, they run into a moss man in the field outskirts of Amphibia. The one Leif rides out of the castle could be the same one.
Imagine in the finale, Anne says HA!!! I TOLD YOU I SAW ONE!!

That seemed to be initial intent, but according to Andrew Sorcini, an editor in the show, the team made a late revision to the scene but forgot to change Amphibian text.

She also created the same dance that Sprig did that he said has been in the Plantar family for generations, 100% an ancestor

I think the king had her bloodline killed off. Which is why pink frogs are so rare. Hop pop's son married one of the pink frogs family memebers.

The moment the old man voice came from Marcy I was like “Ew ew hate it” and I love me the Midsommar reference in the root of evil.
I feel like Darcy will get creepier in the last few remaining episodes for the huge finale.
@@gamefan6219 oh yeah definitely we have to enjoy the funnier version now cause after this episode it’s no longer fun and games anymore. I’m curious if the core has any powers cause it’s mechanical and if it’s just mechanical powers than Anne and Sasha can easily save Marcy from that thing
I was wondering if it was coincidence the cult reminded me of Midsommar. Guess not, which means Hop Pop would not have lasted long there.

Part 1's setting is actually a reference to Midsommar, a very horrifying thriller psychological film produced by the same company (A24) that made Hereditary. The cult was wearing the exact same clothes, the houses were the same design, and they all cried in one scene which was so unsettling. They also had a scene where a friend was strapped in the barn like Bessie but with no more internal organs 😃
I thought it was a reference to druids, like real druids, not the wow ones.

I literally said that this was midsommar when I saw them in the beds with all the marks on the walls and everything it immediately reminded me of that movie.

I'm assuming Leif took the box to Earth, found a good place to stash it or someone she could trust, and then opened a portal to take her back to Amphibia. She then lived out her days in Wartwood, with the mossman living nearby. It was interesting how that throw away joke came back.

No the guy who voiced horde prime is Keston John and andrias' father is voiced by William Houston
Its just called a "Maypole", not a Mayday pole. My mom is an European immigrant and I set one of those up every year.
Fun fact: In case you don't know or if you do know, Young andrias and barrel play the voice actors who voiced hunter from the owl house and dipper from gravity falls. Zeno Robinson plays young andrias and Jason Ritter plays barrel.
Evil and a little scary to me, but hilarious as well. Darcy is now starting to become my favorite villain in this series. Also, king andrias' backstory was great. Truly shades of hop pop's backstory about the calamity box on why he had to bury it just to protect sprig and polly.
I love these episodes. I do think the core and the king should’ve been a 22 minute episode but even so it’s great. I do feel bad for Jeremy who is still being mind controlled by Gary though. Everyone just seems to ignore that. I hope they save him by the end of the series

I absolutely love the amazing continuity in terms of writing for amphibia. Literally EVERYTHING in this show is important and nothing is used as a copout in regards to one liner’s or characters
The first episode you saw reminded me of the movie “Midsommar”,because of the Clothing and when they mentioned the pyramid
I love how Root of Evil is literally just one giant Midsommar reference. It would be the show that impaled a 13 year old on screen to reference one of the darkest movies ever released in theatres…
I feel it is worth noting that when the olm prophecy was inconvenient King Aldrich played it off as nothing more than worthless ramblings. However when the music box was lost he suddenly acted like it was gospel and altered the kingdom's future actions around it, banking on it being true since that is the only way to get the box back.
I do wonder if Leif could of eventually of convinced Andrias to stop abusing the music box once his father was part of the core. A major is that the king is pretty much a puppet and even the crown is a mark of that, giving him a direct connection the core and more importantly allowing the core to spy on everything he does.

In theory but... Hop-pop is 68 years old, how is his daughter 900 years older than him? And Lief has to be a Plantar because they’ve known that dance for generations and that’s not possible if she married into the family maybe 20 years ago. It’s not impossible she lived extra long, Andrias is over 1000 years old, but it is impossible that she was Sprig and Polly’s mother.
*Zuko:* So what’s your story?
*Hunter:* Oh, it’s simple really. I tried to get something called Titan’s Blood. Can’t go back empty-handed or I’ll be replaced. _(crazed laugh)_
*Young Andrias:* Well, I tried to retrieve a music box from whom I thought was my friend, only for it to be lost and disappointing my own father!

I still cannot believe they referenced midsommer
We knew it was coming, but I love how tragic the relationship between Andrias, Barrel and Leif is. Here are three friends that have known each other since childhood, who support, play with, trust and maybe even love each other. And it ends badly for all of them. Leif dies on an alien world, without any friends or family, knowing even though she did the right thing, she still betrayed the ones she cared about. Barrel was banished for one mistake, never reconciled with his two closest friends again, and he died defending the weak from a monster. And Andrias? A man that has lived with guilt for over a thousand years, with every bridge burned, no one around to truly understand him or his predicament. The only "companion" he has: a cold, heartless machine that consists of his own father, always telling him what to do. Barrel and Leif at least had the luxury of dying, Andrias is enslaved to his ancestor's and the Core's will and goals. He can't die, unless IT says so.
Darcy, Darcy, Darcy I'm so happy and scared we actually get to see more of Darcy and the flashback was amazing

When Andrias was watching what remained of the portrait burning while ( *shudders* ) Darcy was doing _terrible, awful_ 😖 😱 😨 😰 things to Marcy's mind 😰😱🥺😣😔, he was thinking of what Leif said, and actually looked _sad_ 😟😔. Even though it seems like he's going to go through with it, conquering and strip mining Earth and exterminating the human race isn't what he really wants 🤨😟🤔, but what his father, Aldrich, along with the Core (which he apparently is now a part of 😰😱), wants 😠😡.
I think he will turn against the core in one of the final episodes
LOVE a good flashback backstory on Andrias and yet it maybe the Darkest episode to Amphibia still wish that The Core and the King should have been more of a 22 minute episode with more character driven moments and more emotional gut punch to it
When I saw "The root of evil" and the cult I saw the room they woke up in + listening to the music, I literally screamed: "WHAT IN THE MIDSOMMAR! "

My top four cartoons are: Miraculous, Amphibia, The Owl House, and Big City Greens. Zeno Robinson is in all of those shows. He is by far my fav voice actor! :)

What I notice is that Andrias got handed the title of kind, the Core and the key to the music box but did he wanted all of that? Not once in that episode mention what Andrias wanted for himself only? Also it the typical troupe of "friendship vs family/ tradation" since he only went through with it cos he didn't want to dissapoint his father or goes against the family traditions!
Also since apparently when you died, your conciousness get transfered to the Core, is this the reason why Andrias has no kid/ an heir so that his kid doesn't share the same fate as him like he doesn't want to joined the Core?
Did you notice that at first Andrias was freaking out about his pals playing keep-away with the box, but then when Leif had the vision he was just concerned for her?
The moment I saw them wake up I was like
"Oh no, it's Midsommer"
Darcy is canon and it is awesome! It's great that Marcy still shines through this possession of the Core. Until we get Marcy back, we still get to have her!
We can’t see it, but Marcy is probably crying so much inside that place in her head that she locked in. we need to save this poor girl.
Or maybe she is locked in some kind of paradise place like what they did with Mabel from Gravity Falls

Other she trapped in her nightmare of her family getting a new job which meant leaving her friends and her being outcast by her new school like Luz. Luz and marcy's stories are kind of similar. Both are needs that didn't fit in so they left theor world for another and didn't care for consequences of theor actions which got innocent people hurt but for marcy she got hurt way worst than Luz.

“The Root of Evil" must have been inspired on the movie “Midsommar". There are to many parallels with that movie that I'm gonna be shocked if it is not

I was actually on Hop Pop’s side in “The Root of Evil” episode. Andrias was literally destroying the environment, ecosystem, and planet for his invasion. I honestly think recruit Gary was the best thing because he could help revive what was destroyed. The fact Hop Pop was the only one who understood that importance in such Amphibia’s dark hour was kinda disappointing.

It's funny, because if a bad person was belittling me and telling me what I had to do in order to "redeem myself",

I knew his backstory was something like that. I have long thought one of my other theories is a bit of a long shot (besides a bigger Gravity Falls crossover) but given that they are currently portraying Sasha as the leader instead of Anne and that the core continues being clumsy in Marcy's body I wonder if it will decide that it has already used/copied enough of Marcy's intelegence and will be willing to trade for Sasha for her strength given her guilt she would probably take that trade.
I personally don’t like that “Darcy” is not too intimidating and is more like an evil version of Marcy. I think they would be better suited as a cold, cruel, calculating overlord like Andrias’s dad.
