I've seen shows with good finales. I've seen shows that crashed and burned in their final moments. But rarely have I seen a show's finale exceed my expectations. "The Hardest Thing" is now one of them. What a beautiful send-off to a beautiful show.

If Sprig gets a spin-off show, it should *totally* end with him seeing Anne as a goddess after exploring the new continent since she’ll probably be able to manipulate time and space after 91. That’s gonna be my headcannon for the time being.

So Amphibia was actually planned from the start to be a three-act-story, and the creator was thankfully able to end it on his own terms, and give it the good ending it deserved.

Amphibia ended on its own terms, which made this ending all the more impactful. Matt Braly and his team told the story they set out to tell from the beginning, and even though the ending was natural rather than forced, it still felt too soon

How are we emotionally attached to amphibia people dealing with it? We cry, scroll through other people's comments and content and remember that we still have some the owl house until the great breakdown

As someone who got EXTREMELY attached to this show, like extreme extreme, I’m still crying. I cannot watch the episode or clips of it without bursting into tears. I scroll through TikTok and I like all the edits and save them but I can’t watch them cause I’m in public and I’ll start crying. There’s an empty feeling in my chest. It’s not great.
Even though I didn't cry through the whole finale, that doesn't mean I'm not in such an emotional turmoil, even after hours later. This episode really gave us a perfect balance of knowledge (last bits of lore and the decisions for the girls' future), power (through the first part, in the battles and super powers) and heart (the true meaning of saying goodbye and the bonds permanently linked in the hearts of the girls and their "families").
Giving you a virtual hug to cry all you want!
Now, all that's left is The Owl House, in the Golden Era of Disney Shows (for Convoluted Stories and Mysteries), that started in 2012 with Gravity Falls. And I want to be there to give more virtual hugs for when the time comes.
I will never be the same after this series. This was my favorite show ever, it was something truly special.
yeah as someone who did end up with a lot of emotional attachment to this silly little fig show, it was rough. I've spontaneously burst into tears so many times these past few days lol. I loved the way it ended personally...the messages themselves really touched me and I can relate to them so it was rough. But I'm going to rewatch it so many times and I know it will always be there to comfort me again when things get tough. And of course, the theme of the show is change so that's why they grew apart after Marcy moved (thats part of why they grew apart was cuz Marcy had to leave). But they will always be an important part of each other's lives and reconnect.
"How were people who were really attached to Amphibia handle this?" We didn't.
This episode wrecked me entirely.
I couldn't sleep at night cause I was Soo busy crying.

When Morgan mentioned the people who would have to depart from this show after being here sense the beginning really hit me, this show and The Owl House has helped me come out as bisexual to my parents and to actually believe in myself.
Knowing this show ending is gonna take a toll on me, I know that I went through this journey day in and day out.

With the context that she and the Owl crew aren't being given all the time they wanted to tell the story they set out to tell, of course. Matt and his team were fortunate in that regard, but I still trust Dana and the others to do well with the time they've been given.

Since Amphibia is now finished and if you’re looking for a similar/funny show that combines city folk with ancient folklore, maybe consider viewing LEGO’s Monkie Kid afterwards. It can be found on Amazon Prime and it’s basically a underrated and modern day telling of “A Journey to the West”. It has got great visuals for fight scenes and the voice actors of Sokka and Goku. Plus, it sometimes has mechs vs monsters!

I'm going to miss Amphibia, really amazing show. Really messed up for what Disney did to The Owl House. I recommend reacting to The Ghost and Molly McGee, it's a really awesome show like both The Owl House and Amphibia.

but that was a good show and the ending to me was prefect, but sad to see on how much the characters grew and cared for each other

Man this ending hit hard. I remember after Star Vs the Forces of Evil ended (which was also really hard to deal with) I found out about this show and watched a couple episodes from season 1 but never got around to actually watching it until around when the season 2 finale came out in May 2021. Then I just binged both seasons out at the time and then watched season 3 as it aired. I feel you on the goodbyes. Everytime a show I really love is ending it just hits me full force. But I'm glad I got to experience it even if its hard to say goodbye :' )

You know what made me cry the most the end credits and the last shot with a new photo of the trio all grown up. It made me emotional to the point I told my two best friends how much I love them.

In the case of Anphibia I think the creator said it was allways suposed to be 3 seasons, but I'm not completly sure

I'm someone who loved every episode, but I'm also someone who recognizes when it's time for a story to end. Matt (fortunately) got the 3 seasons he saw fit for the story.
As for my thoughts on the episode, I feel like a lot of things were introduced too quickly. Like if there were hints around the stones like there were around Leif and there were more discussions around the mystery around them, it might've made the cosmic deity reveal feel a bit more natural (although I guess there was talk of how the stones "picked" people).
I love how Sasha treasures the memory of her two swords. Obviously to remind her of Grime, but I also think it's connected to True Colors when she looked at her reflection in the blue sword and for the first time reflected on herself.

They don't have to, I like the Sashanne ship, but it feels better, that they are just friends. I feel dating could mess up their friendship, especially if Marcy and Sasha also like Anne, but Anne like only Sasha or Marcy.
Does that matter though? Like , this show isn’t about teen romance , like how SVTFOE turned out , its about change/accepting change. Also that would ruin EVERYTHING, rushing into a lovey-dovey relationship after their friendship JUST STARTED BECOMING HEALTHY would just be unhealthy.

As someone who watched this in 2020, was fully invested, i cried for four hours.
I’ve been nonstop crying since it aired last night. I watched Amphibia when it aired and I’ve been on the ride ever since. My mom and I watched it together and we both had a meltdown. I loved the way this finale ended and how it technically was a 3 parter. Bravo to Matt and the team!
I wrote this after watching The Hardest Thing on the day that it aired in the evening which was Saturday May 14th, 2022. Spoiler Alert: My thoughts on The Hardest Thing:
Nice title card for the intro. I’m glad that we finally got to see calamity powered Sasha and Marcy. When everyone thought that Anne died and Sprig going up to see Anne before that version of her died; I was brought to tears 😭. I’m glad that one version of her came back alive. Her talking to the guardian of the calamity box stones was interesting and how it was on an old time computer and then it changed into her pet Domino. I’m glad that everyone was happy when Anne came back after they’ll thought that she had died. Anne, Sasha, and Marcy looked so cool and awesome in the super powered up forms and when they were fighting they all used their personalities. Marcy actually knew why the core took over the moon because of seeing their memories in the darkness and it was out of fear. Anne giving Sprig her phone for him to keep was so nice and he was making another book like Leif did; which is also nice. Andrias actually helping is good and nice too. I’m glad that Sprig and Polly grew into nice frogs so far; I can’t tell if they are kids or almost teens. I’m glad that Sprig is still with Ivy and Hop Pop maybe with Silvia. I’m glad that Anne and her friends went back to Earth. It was nice to her that Anne and Sasha both found some friend groups of their own in high school. I’m also glad that the whole calamity trio all found stuff that they like to do. I like that Anne is working as herpetologist and that she named that pig frog after Sprig. I’m glad that Sasha and Marcy came to celebrate Anne’s birthday 10 years later and that Aquarium that has other exhibits where she works. So that would mean that Anne is 23 now. Some of me still wishes that the portal to both worlds could’ve stayed open; but I like the ending Matt and the crew did instead. I have tears in my eyes while I was typing this and while I typing this on my phone and they are both sad and happy tears. This journey has been amazing and I’m excited for Marcy’s journal and other things.

I watched this episode twice and cried so hard the owl house will take a toll on me when it ends These shows are the reason why people still watch Disney so I wished they never ended both

As a person who loved every single episode of amphibia, I can tell that, surprisingly, the finale didn't really make me sad. I was very happy to see it, especially since it brought such a nice closure to both the arcs and themes of the show. Plus, the way girls's friendship turned out really made me happy. I'm not very close with any of my friends in a classical sense of the word, so seeing that friendships can be very different and relationships can evolve to suit people's needs made me very happy. Especially since the girls r still very good friends, which i proved by the picture at the end of end credits signed "BFF".
This whole show has the structure of a JRPG. It starts off with fun, but not super important small quests around town, then progresses to ultra-dramatic character changes at the end of each season, and finally ends with Anne killing a centuries-old god-sphere and potentially becoming a goddess herself.
Core: I'd rather destroy this world than let it change into a form that doesn't need me!

This Series Finale goes to Top Tier right next to Gravity Falls cuz both shows brought me to tears with their stories, their characters growth, and the perfect ending that tied up everything together. I was crying throughout the whole episode but I loved every bit of it and I loved how Change was the main focus of the whole show and our Calamity Trio developed so much an accepted the changes that would happen in their lives once they returned home.
The last episode of Amphibia I cried SO SO HARD MAAN!! This was the most attached I’ve ever been to a show and it hit hard!!
I sobbed so hard I fell off my bed. I was shaking man. Idk how ima take owl house cuz I love it more.
I’ll always remember this amazing journey and this quote and I hope that it will make me and everyone else feel better and not sad that this show ended six days ago; man that feels weird to say: “Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.” - Dr. Seuss. Also we still have Marcy’s Journal as well; which comes out sometime in November. Matt did also say that there are opportunities for spin-offs after a break. Also there is a livestream tomorrow which is Saturday May 21st, 2022 for me and in it you can ask Matt and some of the rest of the Amphibia crew to answer some questions that you may still have. i haven't really been keeping up with amphibia since it started getting serious (i know, a long time) but watching this ending with very little information about the stones and core, etc, it still made me tear up. it hurt to see their goodbyes and it hurts that its over, but also a bittersweet yknow?

I've posted this on other reactors' videos already, but I'm going to add it here: You know how Matt has said he wants to make an Amphibia/Owl house/Gravity Falls crossover? I have an idea as to how it can be set up. In the finale of TOH, have it mentioned on Earth something related to it being 10 years since "that thing in LA" or Frog-Vasion. As I imagine it, Gravity Falls happened a few years before Amphibia and TOH ends just after the "10 years later" scene, while the Trio are still together in LA. Mr X, who is now in charge of the mystical side of the FBI, calls the Trio and asks for their help figuring out what has happened. He also says that a couple other people will be joining, twins from Oregon, who have clashed with the FBI before, but are willing to lend their experience with magic and alternate dimensions to the investigation. And there's the step up.

I've been sitting on the idea since the finale aired... of Anne becoming the cosmic diety after she dies and taking Marcy and Sasha with her (not killing them i mean like... the probably die before her) and the three of them can be like The Core but as a force of good instead of evil.
