    I’m happy that they are quick about this particular case. Hopefully they get it back to you quickly so we can see the improvement as well as the customer service. It sucks that there is already an issue, however, it’s great in the case of perfecting further. Thanks for the great video! Keep doing what you’re doing!

    Just to be a little pedantic. That part is actually not the "loading ramp". The _loading ramp_ is the extension on the _barrel_ that guides the nose of the bullet into the chamber. The part that you were referring to on the slide is actually called the _stripper rail_ , for obvious reasons. For someone to watch the whole video this makes sense, but initially it was quite confusing.

    • @AudibleVisibIe
      @AudibleVisibIe 4 года назад +3

      You are correct that what he is referring to is a stripper rail, however what you are referring to as a "loading ramp" is actually a feed ramp. If we're arguing semantics, let's be 100% correct 😉
      Some may refer to it as a loading ramp, but i have never heard or read that term

      P365 xl cant beat the 12 + 1 in flush mags and 15 + 1 in the extension, and to top it all off it's still more concealable than the ppq sc.

    • @JacksonWalter735
      @JacksonWalter735 3 года назад

      If you're still in the market for one, I highly recommend the Springfield Hellcat if you want high capacity while still being ultra concealable. It's better than the P365 in every way aside from the trigger (although the Apex trigger for the Hellcat makes it better than anything available for the P365). If you want something a little bigger though I would go with the P365XL or Glock 43X with a ShieldArms mag.

      Will do. Mine is around 64xxx made in 2016. It's had the recall done, but the previous owner had mangled the takedown latch and tool. Walther is sending me one of each. The trigger pull is awful and the disconnect process is very stiff, almost like there's a burr on the trigger bar that doesn't want to let go of the sear drum. A little stoning should clear that up. I want to like this gun, but it's fighting me.

    Hello. I had a p365 that I didn’t like so I traded it in and got a new in box PPQ SC for about an hour but the extractor was defective so they bought it back from me and I got another VP9SK. I could have just sent it back for warranty work but leaving a store with a new pistol that didn’t work proper was not going to be an option. I have a Walther PPQ M1 and that’s what prompted me to want a PPQ sc.

  • @ruggedmeetsrefined5345

    I think it is fair to suggest that you delete this video. Reason being that there aren’t many video reviews on the PPQ SC, so when people RUclips search it and see this, they might not see the 2,000 rd review or any of the videos you made after the fact explaining that you had a pre-release model, it was made right by Walther, and you never encountered the issue again. I did a fair amount of research on PPQ SC before buying and don’t think I saw any complaints of this happening.
    I am somewhat of a Walther “fanboy”, so the video wouldn’t throw me off, but if it were another brand I was looking into and saw this video, I would prob just rule the pistol out completely and start looking at other options.
    Don’t think there’s anything questionable about deleting the vid. Obviously you can do what you want. Thanks for taking the time to make informative and thorough reviews!

      @HammerStriker  4 года назад

      Thank you. We did link to the update and 2000 round test of the replacement in the description.
      I am hesitant to delete it because it would make the appearance that I intend to hide things on behalf of a manufacturer, we are strict on honesty (even for guns we REALLY like).
      We always follow up with whatever was done about an issue, in this case a complete replacement which works flawlessly.

    • @dannysanch2012
      @dannysanch2012 4 года назад

      Fair enough on the honesty, but if it was a prerelease gun then essentially it was given to you to find an error to be addressed, you tested found an error, they fixed it, never had issue again.. boom all is well, but definitely interesting vid

    The solution for Walther should have been to never change the basic ppq design so much on the slide in the first place. They could have just made relief cuts to lighten the slide for the faster cycling, but no they cheapened the design of a proven firearm. I know trying to lowering production cost is way of business, but you can’t sacrifice reliability while cutting corners to save a few bucks. This gun hasn’t been received well over on walther forum by a lot of die hard Walther fans because of these design changes that have obviously cheapened the ppq platform. I will not be buying one of these. I have 2 ppq’s that have made me a fan of the design and this new sc is different enough that I don’t trust it to be as durable and reliable as the others. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it Walther.

    • @nrg4285
      @nrg4285 3 года назад +1

      Sorry to jump in 2 yrs late, but you're wrong. They did this design on purpose to make it a polymer piece on the inside specifically for weight-savings as this would be a conceal carry gun. The full size PPQ has a steel interior which obviously they were interested in weight savings in the SC model.

    I see where others have the same flaw, so even though it doesn't grab on every unit, Walther _should_ do a recall. That's an obvious error that probably happened after engineering when the production was set up. Most likely Walther will take the least expensive way out and just grind a steep ramp at the rear of the slide piece to raise the cartridge up. I and others had a similar casing-grab issue with the Ruger LCP 2, where the casing would hang up on the barrel opening if the cartridge was slightly to the left of barrel center. Ruger didn't mill a bevel at the chamber opening, so the casing protrusion caught there and resulted in a failure to feed.

    I just bought a PPQ SC and love the pistol and own a PPS M2, but wanted more capacity and a smoother trigger pull. The issue I have is sometimes my slide doesn’t fully return to battery but not as bad as yours BUT if I load 15 bullets in the 15 round mag, I can’t get the mag to lock in place without physically slamming my hand on it to forcefully shutting the mag in place. It’s absurd really and I don’t think that is normal. It would not be practical in a self defense situation which is why I bought the pistol. Concerned and confused. Any help/thoughts?!

    I don't understand why Walther added polymer to make the slide lighter. The PPQ is already plagued with a higher bore axis than most striker fired guns and it is already too light. If you're going to have a higher bore axis, you better add a couple of ounces.

      Neal Leavitt your M2 mags will not work. They changed the mag geometry slightly so you need to buy new PPQSC 15 rd mags if you want to have 15rds. If you use your m2 mags you run the risk of over inserting the mag and causing malfunctions and damage to the firearm

      This has been resolved, we did a follow up video on the resolution then a 2000 round test on the replacement gun. She should have no issues with hers.

    Won't be buying one anyway. Walther refuses to produce any of their latest models in a M1 configuration, the SC, Q4 tac, Q5 match, PPQ .45 acp. Kinda disappointing because I absolutely love the paddle mag release. I carry a PPQ daily and was looking forward to a sub version, buying a VP9 SK instead.

      The vp9 is quite good but it feels cheaper when compared to the p30/p30L
      Plus all vp9 rear sights sit canted and that’s what bothered me more so.
      The vp9 is a very reliable weapon don’t get me wrong, I’ve run just over 1000 rds without a cleaning to test it, BUT I just couldn’t deal with the canted sight, unlike the p30s and ended up trading it. YMMV

      Specifically, the slide is slightly raised on the right side making the sights not level. The slide rides on the trigger group or bar and makes the slide not perfectly flush to frame.
      If I were a left handed pistol shooter it wouldn’t matter as much but I shoot pistols right handed, left eye dominant, rifles I shoot left handed tho, ymmv and glad it works good for you

    Thumbs down for stupid RUclips safety check.

    • @HammerStriker
      @HammerStriker  5 лет назад +1

      This is not just a "RUclips safety check".
      We (and other channels like ours) do that for a purpose, it is because there are different reasons people come to RUclips. Some come purely for entertainment (which is great), but many are new to firearms and come to RUclips to learn. As safe handling procedures are the most important factor of dealing with firearms, reinforcing it is important. An inexperienced shooter viewing our videos (or others with similar mindset) will be reminded of the need to be very aware of the state of the weapon in addition to following the other safety procedures. Every once in a while you hear of somebody being shot by an "unloaded gun" (obviously it wasn't) or during the cleaning procedure. Hopefully reinforcing the need to clear a weapon that is going to be handled for a reason other than actually firing it may educate somebody and prevent a tragedy.
