I bought mine a little over a month ago. I love this gun. No hiccups at all. Feels extremely solid. Dependable. Accurate. Just a phenomenal pistol. The only thing is that you have to slam the mags in, and you had that problem here.
This is my primary EDC gun. I think it is one of the very best available due to superb trigger with ultra short reset & 100% reliability. I also EDC a Shield 2.0 40 cal with thumb safety. Thx 4 this excellent review. 👍😋🇺🇸
This alleviates some of my concern about the redesigned extractor/breech. It looks to be an awesome and very shootable subcompact. Thanks for the great video!
Had a friend buy one a week ago, was with him on his first time shooting, I think he shot this almost better than any other hand gun he owns. I shot it and it was very accurate and feels good in hand, I ordered one online and will get it soon.
I have a ppq 45 tactical walther has always been my brand sice I bought my first gun and you guessed it a blued ppk 380 when I decided to move up to a 45 I loved my father's 1911 I couldn't make up my mind and it was like and intervention in the walther case at store I get my gear from a ppq 45acp tactical under 600$ two magazines and a threaded barrel plus it held 12 round and one more in the pipe I was shocked how well I shot with it the recoil seemed less than my 9mm p99 my other keeper I'm not sure if it's the low speed but I ended up getting a rugged obsidian suppressor and I love it it accepts everything 45acp down and the ppq is surprisingly quiet definitely you can skip head phones walther has maintained it's reputation of not being the new kid on the block with new ideas but taking a few years is worth the wait when you take a pistol out of the box and it's the smoothes trigger you have ever used perfect engineering and great craftsman no scratches or marks the coating on the steel is just beautiful some would swear it's a hand made fire arm.
I'm looking for a first time ccw. I'm. Lefty. Ive boiled things down to Walther PPQ SC, HK VP9 SK, and RUGER SR9c. Any suggestions on one over the others? I've ranged all of them once but not all at the same time, so it's hard to compare. Anybody is welcome to respond. Owners of all or 2 would be great.
Nice basic test of running various ammo with a hand selected weapon form the maker. Glad it ran everything without problems. When do they ship to dealers?
Good review. I really appreciate the run-through of a large selection of ammo. That's not something that most channels too, and and certainly helps people out so I don't have to go and do this themselves on every perspective purchase. Though I think that maybe 4-5 rounds might be a slightly better test of overall reliability. Nice job
Thank you. I've considered running more, but ammo gets expensive at the rate that I review firearms and I don't make much money from RUclips. Really it can be done with two rounds, but three seems more fair to both the gun and the ammo.
Any comment on why so many of the internals look to have been changed on the sc versus the standard ppq? Could you do a quick side by side look at the differences?
Will you be getting the Grand Power Stribog SP9A1 for testing? Was their even any doubt the PPQ SC would clean the dinner plate? :) Walther PPQs are the bomb - I love my PPQ M1. Though this SC is in a tough slot with a lot of competition. It'll probably appeal mostly to PPQ fans. -
Awesome! Thanks. Can't beat a Walther. I have a friend who is a former Special Forces guy and always wondered why I still carry an older P99c. Hes a glock guy and he always hated on my P99 until he shot my PPQ.
Currently I have an XDS 4.0 9mm for carry, but I don't like shooting it. I have large hands and it's just uncomfortable to shoot, and I for whatever reason don't control it well. I can drive tacks with my full size XDM though. I love the PPQ for a full size. Would you personally recommend the Walther PPQ SC over the XD Mod 2 Sub compact? (or other carry size Springfield variant)
Hey, buddy. Great video but I have one question to respectfully pose to you: The owner's manual specifically states not to use +P or steel case ammo so why would you do this?
so the slide release, is it a real chronic issue of locking back while shooting it? The Sig P320 had the same problem until they sent a revised slide release which then solved that probelm. If this does catch and got locked back it will be a deal breker
yikes! That would be too much for me. My P320 they sent an updated slide release and the original one would always get activated and cause my slide to lock back. The revised one that they sent was very flush and that solved the problem. Think I will have to pass on the Walther unfortunately
Thanks for the video! Looks like a lot of muzzle flip for just a 9mm, like it big brother, when compared to Glock, Sig, and HK subcompacts. Gonna turn my focus to the p365.
If you want to spend a bunch of money chasing a good trigger go for Glock. If you want a gun to perform for the price out of the box it's Walther all day.
i have found that glocks have a slight angle that makes shooting them less than ideal compared to other pistols such as the Walther ppq. you can train yourself to shoot glocks "straight" but the glock angle is not natural. at least not to me.
Can't wait till they come out with the PPQ SC M2 . It will change the mags and slide. Just like the PPS and M2 models with non interchangeable mags. Another Walther Flop! All they had to do is cut 1/2 inch off and keep the PPQ internals the same!!!!
I think you're missing the point. Some people complained about the muzzle flip of the PPQ and Walther P99 generally, so Walther had to lighten up the reciprocating mass of the slide to reduce muzzle flip and recoil. They decided to replace a good chunk of the internal portion of the slide with polymer. Just like the Gen5 Glocks, things got moved around a bit internally as a result. This also affected the magazine dimensions as the magazines on the PPQ SC are a few thousands of an inch longer (front to back) than the standard PPQ magazines, so there's a little play with the larger mags. They also went with an internal extractor which may have been necessary after removing the steel and replacing it with a polymer insert for the striker assembly. Moreover, because of the faster cyclic rate, the mag springs had to be strengthened as well to ensure it could feed rounds fast enough. In the end, this is what Walther had to do to make it more competitive than the P99c was running up against the G26. That pistol never really caught on because 1) people got confused about the trigger system(s) and 2) it had more muzzle flip than the Glock offering. As such, mitigating recoil was paramount. If they did it your way, it would have been about as popular as the P99c, and that could have been detrimental to the whole product line as many people like to have a full-size or compact version of a gun along with a subcompact.
I DON'T NO ALOT ABOUT GUNS BUT I HAVE ONE OF THESE AND A GUY I KNOW WANTS TO TRADE. HE HAS A HI POINT 40CAL. HE WANTS ME TO GIVE HIM WALTHER AND $150. HE SAID IT'S AN AWESOME DEAL AND HI POINT IS THE BEST OVER ALL HANDGUN!
Note Walther web site has about 20 videos including armorer instructions videos... here is the link on Walther's web page waltherarms.com/category/campus/cleaning-disassembly/ppq/ Here is the exact part about the slide / striker difference to the standard model as its a replaceable fire control module ruclips.net/video/5pSM2Euo-Xg/видео.html&feature=emb_logo&t=1066
Looks to be highly reliable with all that different type of ammo, and love the triggers on my Walthers.

Any idea why they discontinued this pistol everything I've heard about it is great.

I bought the M2 Navy with a green laser for bedside "carry", and a Glock 26 for concealed carry. It looks like I'll be retiring the G26 soon.
I just bought one.....waiting on delivery, thanks for the video....the PPQ is one of the best striker guns out there.
I love your format and I am considering the PPQ SC XS
Nice group!
Replaced my Glock 26 , just so smooth , that trigger is just amazing .
great review and thanks. I have never seen 165 grain rounds bullets for the 9mm round very interesting.

Excellent review Thanks for showing me my next carry gun...
Great presentation and ammo testing with excellent shooting as always. Great addon grip for extended ammo capacity.
+ratagris21 thanks!

Man, that’s some awsome shooting! Thanks for sharing!
Waiting for the 12 round magazine for CC..
Awesome, thanks for the review!
Can u get a pinky extension for the 10 rnd mag? So to get three fingers on grip.
Yes
Great video. If you get a chance, please review the Magnum Research Micro Desert Eagle 380.
Any comment on why so many of the internals look to have been changed on the sc versus the standard ppq? Could you do a quick side by side look at the differences?
The slide was milled out and metal replaced by polymer parts for weight savings and to get the correct slide cycle rate.

+Frank Hellman yes, I'm in line for the stribog
Does the sleeve come with the gun and 15 round mag?
+Keith Richards Liver yes
Awesome! Thanks. Can't beat a Walther.

Graham,
As a Walther fan also, my question to you is: would you feel comfortable in carrying the PPQ SC as your choice for EDC? Thanks again, JC
Yes
Does Walter recommend that you use p+ ammo?
Great shooting and review
+GARYSGUNS thank you
You should compare the PPQ SC to the P365, i don't think anyone compared them yet on RUclips.
Awesome video bro 👍🏿
Is this gun discontinued? I can't find it in any of the major online stores.
They are still in production, but at the moment anything with a trigger is sold out across the country
@@GBGuns
>> at the moment anything with a trigger is sold out across the country
Why?
The riots, police departments listing what they're not going to respond to, COVID panic, and a Presidential Election season about to make it worse
Yikes the slide lock can.get pushed up? Tells me the slide lock lever protrude too far out. Thanks for telling me that will skip this
PPQ sc compared to sig 365 just wondering what you think
I haven't handled the 365, but can't imagine how it could be any better.
365 weighs less, 10 round mag has pinky extension standard, not as an extra add on.
Humberto Montes he failed to mention those facts
Magazine release differences aside, VP9sk or PPQsc in terms of shootability, ergos, comfort etc? Does one beat the other?
+Darren J. Costa probably not
Thanks GB, figured they're just about equal and it's a matter of shooter preference
And whether you have PPQ already or not...
Does your PPQ threaded Barrel work in the SC?
Hey, buddy. Great video but I have one question to respectfully pose to you: The owner's manual specifically states not to use +P or steel case ammo so why would you do this?
Steel cased just to test. +p is a safety issue, we almost never shoot +p
so the slide release, is it a real chronic issue of locking back while shooting it? The Sig P320 had the same problem until they sent a revised slide release which then solved that probelm. If this does catch and got locked back it will be a deal breker
+Jeff Kim it depends on your hand size. I tend to ride the release on accident. Just needs training time
yikes! That would be too much for me. My P320 they sent an updated slide release and the original one would always get activated and cause my slide to lock back. The revised one that they sent was very flush and that solved the problem. Think I will have to pass on the Walther unfortunately
Jeff Kim I think he means riding it so it doesn’t lock on a empty Magazine, not locking the slide during firing.
Nice group! Are these available to the public yet?
Yes
Graham Baates cost?
Damn brother you get all the new guns. Wish I had money for that. Great video.
Hi. Not sure if you'll get this, but wanted to ask which SC would you recommend; the Canik TP9 SC vs. this gun?
The Walther is more unique and cycles quicker, but the Canik has an optics option
@@GBGuns Thanks so much! Appreciate your time.
You guys rock!
+Eric J thanks!
Thanks for the video! Looks like a lot of muzzle flip for just a 9mm, like it big brother, when compared to Glock, Sig, and HK subcompacts. Gonna turn my focus to the p365.
+Huey 7 I have a soft hold when I shoot. Compare this to my other shooting videos
does anyone know how this pistol compares to the hkvp9sk?
Graham I am looking for a concealed carry compact. How would you compare the PPQ SC to a Glock 26?
If you want to spend a bunch of money chasing a good trigger go for Glock. If you want a gun to perform for the price out of the box it's Walther all day.
David Findle what? hahahaha
Haven't tried the PPQ SC, but the very similar PPS beats the Glock by far.
David Findle wrong dude. Out of the box ppq beats glock out of the box hands down
i have found that glocks have a slight angle that makes shooting them less than ideal compared to other pistols such as the Walther ppq. you can train yourself to shoot glocks "straight" but the glock angle is not natural. at least not to me.
Glock 19 or g-26....I own a classic Walther it's a great range gun....My go to single stack is my shield 9
Looks like a winner!! I'd imagine its size is very similar to a Glock 26??
Nice shootin’!
+Saddlegait45 thank you
New sub! I'm about to order this gun today.
Welcome to GBGuns! Congrats on the purchase. Let us know how you like it over on our Facebook page.
Damn how cold was it. Looked like u were smoking
About 20 degrees
Damn very accurate
Where is the. 40 s+w
was it just me or did the 64 grain sound loud af
That Liberty Ammo is a quick mover. My theory is that the sonic boom is much closer to the shooter.
Never mentioned msrp
+Rafael Bucio Jr. That's correct and I never do in any of my videos. Prices change but the video remains.

Where's Ms Baates?
Seriously?
10 round mag with pinky extension instead of flat base would be nice....
12 round.
Came too late. I have a VP9sk that I have grown attached to (and my girlfriend threatens me with bodily harm if I get rid of)
Why would u use a different hand position? Makes absolutely no sense. Are u going to watch ur hand position in a defensive situation?
He's checking to make sure the round has enough energy to lock the slide back, not if he does/doesn't ride the slide lock.
Hell yeah! I hope you didn't miss out on that amazing deal!!! Sounds like someone doesn't know their values so go for it man!!!
I need to dump my Glock..
