Love Walther products and when i saw that you were doing a review on the subcompact PPQ i couldn't wait to watch it. Another great review Sootch00 and always long live the republic bro.
I have the PPQ M1 as my primary carry. One absolutely fine handgun seven years of carry, no malfuntions. Walther knows how to build firearms!! Great videos Sootch! Didn't even know they had the SC version!
Thank You for this and several other reviews. As an amateur gun enthusiast, I really look to your video reviews for inspiration, knowledge and overall personal opinion. Knowledge is essential in gun ownership and use and you certainly epitomize the ideal model.
Sootch00 your video reviews are far and away the best firearm RUclips videos, period. Thanks. Keep it up, brother.
Love the outtakes. Another way to state the Churchill quote: there are no failures, just a redefinition of objectives. Great work! Keep 'em coming.
Walther makes amazing firearms 💯
Sootch and coffee in the morning. Always making it great.
Good Morning Jeff! Thanks for stopping by.
Just found this channel this morning while drinking my coffee and glad I did! Subscribed!
Sootch! Your original video on the PPQ years ago convinced me to buy one. To this day it’s my favorite handgun. I use it for IDPA and is my go to for home defense. Thanks for taking the time to do these videos with the detail you do. Hope you know it’s helpful.
Thanks DeePsix! The PPQ is such a sweet shooting handgun and that trigger.... Glad you've been pleased with yours.
DeePsix ...Best polymer triiger made....Sits on my night stand....I can't miss with it
I Love the Walthers , & especially my PPQ . Another great review Sootch . Still love your Bloopers at the end as well !
I bought one a week ago...I love the option to use a sc mag for better concealment or using a full mag with the extended baseplate. This is an amazing gun.
I have one on the way right now. I think I’ll carry with the 15 rounder mostly. The 10 for deep cover.
No way! I had no idea they made a subcompact in the PPQ. Obviously it's new. I own a PPQ M2 9mm. Just added a new gun to my list. Thanks Don.
Great video! Im thrilled to hear Walther is offering this model. Im looking for a subcompact & think this is it.
This pretty much made up my mind. Thanks for the thorough review.
this is going on my shopping list. I have the Walther PPS M2 and love the crap out of it.
I love mine. Happy all around with it.
You're like a kid on Christmas with this gun. Great review.
take care, keep up the fantastic work sootch👍. your reviews have helped so much with guns, gear, home remedies etc. always a thumbs up in my book.. anyways take care, be safe and god bless
Just an awesome gun...got one, and it shoots great, and no jams. Thanks for the video.
Still holding up ok? Does it take regular PPQ mags?
sootch: as always very very outstanding video&review👍 you nail it every time brother! always a pleasure to watch your channel man. looks like a very nice firearm and shooter, I love the way they feel in hand. I recently shot&fell in love with sig Sauer handguns. I started off using and having glocks. a gen 3 19 was my first handgun when I was 21, just recently got out of my comfort zone and trying new things. you've been a lot of the reason and help with that.. but I rent and shot the sig Sauer p229 in 40 S&W and man did I love that firearm! very nicely made and put together, love the details and craftsman ship they put into making their guns etc. most of all loved the way it shot, in double and single action it was a dream.
so thank you for all your help&inspirations👍 you've helped me and continue to do so and I'm sure you've done the same with and for many many others.
I always enjoy your videos Sootch. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Sootch! I love the trigger on PPQs. Cool little gun.
I owned a Walther PPS M2 LE model single stack 9mm.
THIS may be my next EDC.
P99c vs Glock 26 vs P224
That's the battle of the legends.
Love the out takes at the end!
Great pistol! I like this pistol more everyday. I picked it up 11/05/2019 and I did have to insert and release 15 rd magazine into mag well repetitiously to break the spring in and my pistol did come a little drier than usual so I cleaned, lubricated and dry fired it to break it in some. Took it to range and put around 300 rds thru it (50 were aluminum which PPQSC went thru flawlessly). It is a very pleasant pistol to shoot. Easy to shoot accurately. I would recommend getting the pinky extension 10 rd magazine. With flush 10 rd magazine, it’s still very manageable just would feel better to get the pinky on there as well.
I own PPQ45, P99 AS 9mm, and PPQSC. While P99 AS is a fairly easy and comfortable pistol to conceal carry, the PPQSC is a dream. I can wear it all day working; crouching, bending, and sitting without it hindering my movement in anyway. That’s where the length of the gun helps big time. I owned PPS M2 before sending it back as part of Walther’s 30 day money back guarantee. I can’t tell really any difference between this and PPS M2 as they are pretty much same size except for 0.3” of width which to some might matter, but not to me. The back sights are a little tighter (Less air in front sight but still some) than on standard PPQ M2 which helps with accuracy.
This pistol takes some very slight breaking in (nothing that has affected functionality of pistol) and after that, it Is an AMAZING pistol.
My 15 round mag won’t lock into place on my PPQ SC smoothly like like the 10 round i have, I have to slam it really hard which sucks for a personal defense weapon. Any help would be appreciated!
Just bought my first handgun two weeks ago Whalter PPQ SC after watching Steven Crowder show about 1-2 years ago when he mentioned his favorite gun. I bought this gun to protect myself after having a shoulder surgery two months ago and I feel defenseless atm where I lost a lot of my strength an muscle mass from lack of use since the injury from work in November last year.
I’m happy I came across this video and learned a lot about my new gun... thanks for giving a great review of this gun to help me better understand my gun. Can’t wait to practice shooting my new gun soon. God Bless and yes long live the republic and our 2nd Amendment Right!! 🇺🇸
"Be Strong! Be of good courage! Eat your chicken dinner! And long live the republic!"
Love all your vids, Sootch! As well as your inspirational quotes!!
🖒😎
Been waiting for this one thank you for the review brother you are always on the ball!
Thanks for the awesome comment.
I really liked your face fuzz on the original PPQ review. And you can not go wrong with Walther.
I have shot my PPQ SC A LOT. Prob over 3,000 rds since November 2019 (it’s January 2020 lol). Would recommend getting the version with the XS F8 sights. It is like $100 more expensive, but I think it will make long distance shots much easier.
Paid for $399 for my PPQ SC new/never used. It was “Factory New-Old Stock” and the marking # starts with FCP which means it was one of the first to be shipped. It did not have a factory test target and the sights were slightly off. Very easy to fix with a couple of turns of an Allen wrench/hex key. If I didn’t get such a good deal on it, that would have bothered me, but my bet is they were wanting to clear inventory of the ones like mine to make room for the newer ones with kinks worked out. The stock sights when shooting out to 15 yds+ aiming at something at eye level or higher is kinda weird. But still just as accurate as PPQ 4”
Superb review as always Thank You Sootch
Just got one today...it came with a mag loader and 3 15 rd clips!! Can`t wait to get to the range.
How much you pay ?? There sold out everywhere i found one place for $695 , $791- all together is that a fair price?
Thank you! That sounds sublime.
Just purchased PPQ SC it was $560 and thank you for the review really made my mind up for buying the subcompact
$560?! They're going for about $390 at Buds.
Yeah, the full size PPQ .45 is a lot cheaper than that. I think you got ripped off.
Love your reviews. Best gun reviews on youtube
The trigger on this thing is soooo smooth! I use the Walther PPS M2 as well, but the PPQ trigger is superior, in my humble opinion.
Love the quotes! Thanks for another great video
Just not got this review in my feed, loving it. Gonna need to pick one up now as my main carry is a PPS M2 and my newer larger carry is the M&P M2.0 Compact.
Those are both of my carry guns.
@@jeepsterct I swapped to a Shield Plus and a Shield .45 for my body carry. I have my M&P M2.0 Compact in my EDC bag though.
Great review as usual, always the Gentleman.
Nicely done. I appreciate the detailed comparison between the normal PPQ and the SC, which seem to indicate that they share the same name but are completely different aside from the trigger system. There is a simplicity in the design of the regular PPQ, while the SC has a lot more bits and pieces, including the plastic internals - which gives me some concern with regard to long term reliability and longevity. Having said that, most of us are not going to be using these under battlefield conditions. So perhaps with the minimal use they will get as residential tools, my concern is unwarranted. In any case, thank you for the video review. One FYI. The aftermarket night sights for the regular PPQ *will not* fit on the SC, a sore point, as sights are difficult to find for the SC.
I was anxiously awaiting this release....I'm a little underwhelmed now that it's here. Great Review as always.
Thanks Brother
If you still own a PPQ SC or still have on readily available to shoot, maybe shoot one if you haven’t since reviewing it. I would actually say it has noticeably less rise of the muzzle when shooting compared to my Q4 Tac PPQ. The blast from each round going off is definitely felt more in PPQ SC but in terms of the muzzle staying down, PPQ SC actually does a good job. “Muzzle flip” does not really bother me because the accuracy of PPQ is top notch. As a civilian, if I were to ever be in a situation where I had to defend myself or others, speed is going to matter most on the first shot(s) and how accurate I am, so even if my Q4 Tac did have a little more rise of the barrel, I don’t see where it would ever outweigh the benefits of the pistol’s ease of superb accuracy. It is nice that PPQ SC does a good job of staying down though...
Love the bloopers!
Interesting, informative, and entertaining review. Thanks for posting it.
Thanks for stopping by Gunner!
I have a 4” and 5” ppq and love them, however this will not be my 3rd. Good review as usual sootch
nice review thanks, waiting for this one here in the Philippines
Q5 Match & PPS. This is a great combo!
Great video and review, as always. I’d love to see a 12 round mag as an option.
I like Walther my EDC is a walther gen1 PPS and has been for several years. I like the full size PPQ but I think i'll stay with the PPS for my sub compact needs.
If they had stuck with the proven PPQ design I might have been interested. They instead borrowed features from the Creed and totally redesigned the slide & striker internals, using plastic in parts. This was supposedly to 'increase cyclic rate', but in reality it was done to reduce the price of slide production.
great review
You both do very well. Appreciate your vids.
One other thing I learned today about the Holster by Alienware Shape Shifter is that they are coming out in August with the PPQ set up, however they are not sure if it will fit the PPQ SC , but one technical guy said the frame of the gun is the same so you might just have to put something in to take up the barrel room. There is an unspoken beauty about the guns personality and feel of that trigger pull. That short stubby look is worse on camera , it ability to be concealed in a coat pocket is made easy by slipping to the shorter mag, Its one of those guns that just keeps surprising you , im adding the Red Dot viper venom as it will add to the visual appeal of the gun as well as provide the red dot of course. The shape shifter will have to wait to be tried.
Looks like another winner from Walther, I don't know why it's getting so much bad press. If I was in the market for a carry gun, I'd give this one a serious look. Another fine review brother, great quality as usual and love the outtakes! Have a safe and awesome weekend!
Just got the F series, the trigger is like " butter", your " out takes are hilarious 😂😆😂🤪
I was down to get it but after finding out about the plastic insert in the slide and not taking regular mags I’ll pass... I’ll just stick with the G26. Thanks for the vids man, u do a great job.
I keep a subcompact by my bedside with the 15 round mag. Only gave $350 for it during this pandemic at a gun store used.
@guess what regardless. $350 for a PPQ SC LE with everything. During this pandemic. Gun prices are sky high.
Gorgeous gun. Have a p365 and the ppq sc continues to be my edc, flawless over 2k rounds.
how about your 365? it's pretty popular now that the hellcat became it's rival
@@ant5747 365 is nice, very small, shoots well.
@@geraldochi7945 I haven't had the chance to handle one but I'm thoroughly surprised they could fit so many rounds in such a small handgun
you cant compare the quality of the walther to a glock. The walther will come out on top every time...
Thats a pretty brave statement. I am not a Glock man at all, I think they are absolutely ugly myself, but when it comes to reliability, Walther has nothing on a Glock. Just about every law enforcement agency shoots Glock, and if theyre not, theyre not using Walther.
Walther smashes glock 24/7, 365. I've owned numerous of both and i'll always prefer the walther over the glock
Troy West actually the walther p99 might be the most popular polymer pistol for police forces overseas. walther was pinnacle of fine quality pistols during ww2 according to many as well. really set the standard of quality for others to follow. a gun that goes bang without failure, is a gun that goes bang without failure. and thats every glock, and every walther as well. few companys have the legacy walther has and their history is worth learning about.
@@troywest7111 because cops are cheap bastards worldwide lol.
Troy West well I have read many times that police agencies and even the military doesn’t use a certain gun or manufacturer because it is the best. It often times boils down to cost. Now everything is basically subjective. With that said, I would take a Walther any day over a Glock. I have had Glock a couple of Glocks. However I do feel Glock is way overpriced for what you get. Glock has and still uses basically a pretty crappy trigger, the same lousy sight picture and to me, I dislike the grip angle. True you practice enough and you can learn to shoot about any firearm well. A lot of reviews or top lists, they always list Glock. Then proceed to talk about the lousy trigger and sights. Most people I know who own Glocks always rush to replace the trigger and sights. Though I do like nights sights and do eventually replace the sights of my firearms to night sights. However I do prefer to be able to pull a pistol out of the.box and immediately enjoy shooting the firearm without having to replace a thing first. Now I do realize there are some who shoot nothing but a stock Glock. Although I think it’s a safe bet that most Glock owners do replace the trigger system and sights. To me I find a Walther has just a great natural grip angle that allows me to be a decent point shooter. I will say all the Walthers I have are great natural point shooters. Walther has been around a lot longer than Glock and has a long well storied history. I have known some people who did not have a reliable Glock and have known two who pretty much wound up with lemons. I am also sure that there are a few folks who don’t see Walthers as fantastic firearms. But I do believe they are few and far between.
Gotta disagree about the pinky finger hanging off the gun not making a difference...When you’re firing with one hand you should be increasing your pinky finger pressure to force the gun more securely into the web of your thumb and reduce the recoil. It’s a nonissue when you have a supporting hand but something to keep in mind IMO.
I'd love to see this beauty compared with the new sig 365!
I too hit the slide stop on my vp9sk only with the thumbs forward grip. I think some pistols feel naturally better and is more effective resting your thumb on the grip like I noticed he did in this video.
Stop it sootch, when you do these reviews I end up buying one myself and my wifey always knows when i do so I end up at the mall and even more BROKE! LOL
Lol! I know the pain well brother! It's funny how they know when you have a new addition : )
Tell her its the same one she saw last month when you bought a VP9sk, that is what I might end up doing!
DB Cooper Funny wifes the same way.
Lol I get it also. Took all my firearms out to clean safe and put them on the bed. She said what the heck where did all these come from. I collect them was my answer and if its an issue I just wont do this in front of you next time. She was okay just didnt know I had got ao many over the years.
sootch00 in your opinion which has the softer recoil? The ppq sc, or the new g26?
I'm considering switching to this from the Shield 1.0. Ever so slightly bigger dimensions with twice as many rounds and a superior trigger seems good to me.
You Gun channel guys have to start referring to the " Squiggly line" grips as "The same texture as on a " Dodge Ball " we used in gym class. That's most accurate.
"your standard dodgeball grips"
I own many toys including Glocks (G40 MOS being my upstairs goto, FN, Sig, etc., yet the 5” PPQ is our absolute favorite. But my wife took it for her goto. I would love to get ahold of this one.
Good morning!! Solid Review!!!
Thanks Alfred!
Awesome review as always.
Thanks Brother!
Always good video
I own the PPQ Q5 Match and absolutely love it!!!! Man I don't need another Gun but I think I have to have this SC. I hope it will work in my Tier Conceal Holster. The holster was made from the PPQ 4" mold so is a inch short for my match so should be 1/2 inch long for the SC.
Great video Sootch! I think I'll stick with my P99C. Just as capable, but better looking!
Right know I'm considering getting a PPQ 9MM or a FN 509. This would be a second option for me. They both fire really good.
Sootch, thanks for another great video!! I'm a big Walther fan, owning the PPS M2. I'm curious: would you trust and carry the PPQ SC as your EDC? Thanks in advance! JC
Great review!
Thanks Devin!
Great review of a great firearm.
Thanks Brother!
I love Walther over just about any brand but I went with a P30sk for carry just because this hadn't came out at that time.
I have one and I love it.
Great review brother. You should review the Walther PPS M2
This is the pistol that I have been waiting for. I wish the magazines were more interchangeable
I own a ppq sc! I use the extension on the mag for a better grip but man it's an awesome gun!
Thank you Sir.
Wish this had the German trigger guard mounted magazine release, I absolutely love that style of release because of my HK P2000sk
I’m ready for the Walther POQ SC vs the Sig P365 video
A month ago I would have said take the P365, but now I'm not so sure.
For the guy that missed it, they do have a pinky extension. I do carefully use regular PPQ magazines and they work fine.
Awesome Review
I have never had a subcompact I liked and I have had Colts, Berettas, Kimbers and a few others... they just do not feel right in the hand and have a history of reliability issues. I carry my Walther PPQM2 and when that is too big I carry a 5 shot revolver like a Taurus 605 polymer .357. I just feel for an EDC reliability is THE most important issue and none of the sub compacts I have owned gave me 99.9%+ reliability. Especially the Kimber Ultra CDP2 which won’t get through 1 box of ammo without at least one FTF & in my book that relegates it to a range gun. Sorry Kimber I sent it back to you and you reworked it and it STILL doesn’t work right. I guess Walther has addressed the issue with plastic parts in the slide and a specific magazine, but I have larger hands and I want my pinky on the grip thank you very much. That being said if this gun is anything like my PPQM2 it is one hell of a gun. My full size Walther is the best semi auto pistol I have ever had the pleasure to shoot at any price. Great review as always!
OMGWUNSIU, this isn’t a Colts, Berettas, Kimbers, and a few others review. This gun works, all the time, every time.
Great review. Sticking with my Vp9sk. Going to check out the p365 if I can ever find one.
Hard to top the VP9sk. I'm going to do a comparison video between the two.
The Sig P365 is having some issues.... they may be delaying the roll out until
May from what I've heard. Thanks Brother
sootch00 would be nice if the vp9sk wasnt so expensive. Just bought a m&p9c yesterday. Love it
That delay on the 365 may do some real damage to SIG... First the 320 drop issues now this. The 365 is innovative, but if people can't trust their SIG, why wouldn't they buy one of the other awesome options out there?
David MN yeah. I make holsters and ive been super irritated that i cant get my hands on one. Such a spotty rollout
David MN ...don't waste your money on that junk...There to many way better guns out there that are less money and proven..
Looks like a quality firearm. Just jumped up on my radar screen and I’m looking up stuff about it. Trying to talk myself out of buying one. You’re not helping. Thanks for another good video.
Be interested in a comparison between the PPQ and the VP9SK.
I'm planning a comparison coming up. Thanks Scott.
Hk P30 sk lem should also make a mention in the video
You didn't ask me but I will tell you anyway. I have had both but went with VP9sk. It is my EDC. I know its personal preference but my hand would hit the mag release on the PPQ when shooting at times. They are both great guns and a better shooter may not have the release problems but H and K VP9sk is for me.
Have the vp9sk really like it.
Sootch...I own both VP9 and PPQ and love both so not a “fanboy” of any one brand. That said, I plan to purchase the subcompact of only one of these two. Which one would one would you buy? Why?
Just picked this up, really excited. Be here soon!!! What is your personal carry weapon and is this a good choice for first time shooter???
Another great video!!! Looks like a Good little gun. Great shooting!
Thanks AB!
sootch00 yes sir... Wonder if it chronographs similar to my glock 43...
Nice interesting review sootch, God bless u
Thanks Mukarram!
I love the Walthers, I carry one every day (PPS or PPQ with paddle mag release, depends on the day) but I think they really dropped the ball on this one. The fact that they have different mags is a problem. I am not a Glock guy, but one major advantage they have is if you have a G26 you can use any double-stack Glock 9mm magazine in a pinch and it will work. Having to segregate magazines to ensure you don't grab the wrong ones is a disadvantage. I was really excited about the gun right up to that point.
U can use walther mags. But for faster cycling they recommend sc mags. But u 100 percent can use the ppq mags
My hands are about the same size, maybe a little bigger, and I have the same thing where I can sort of get my pinky on say a Smith & Wesson 9mm Shield with a 7rd flush mag (my carry piece) but when I shoot the gun my pinky will slip off the grip and under the magazine changing my grip between shots. I have found that not trying to put my pinky on the grip works much better. What I found to work even better, and did show an improvement on paper, is the little magazine extension you get from Amazon for $3.
IMO for CCW I think the P99 sub compact would be a better choice because of the DA/SA, it's a close in self defense situation. I absolutely love my PPQ M2 though, it is my favorite! Walther doesn't make junk!
Can you do a ppq sc v p320 sc or vp9 sk? Love your reviews, keep up the good work!!
Looks like a nice gun. Give this a like. Love the PPQ, but I think I'll stick with the PPS for carry. If I need those extra 3 rounds I'm in deep trouble.
Great review Sootch. With regards to this pistol, what a huge disappointment you can’t use standard PPQ mags people may already have! In my opinion, that is a huge negative with this new gun. In general, having a smaller version of your existing full size or compact and being able to share mags is a massive part of the logic in buying the sub-compact version.
Standard PPQ M2 mags will work in it. Now, yes the M1 mags will not work, but that is a no brainer.
Thanks for the clarification!
The whole point is to have a subcompact concealable handgun you shove a bigger mag in it it's harder to conceal the hardest part of any pistol to conceal is the grip.
Love this vid, as always great job. Any chance for a PPQ SC VS HK VP9sk?
Thanks Tac Dad! Yes, a comparison is coming up.
I love your channel...
It would have been nice if this had the same AS set up as the P99c with the decocker. I really like that feature for a striker fired pistol. Plus the PPQ SC looks much better than the P99c
Another GREAT Review Sootch... Personally I'll stick with my PPS Classics when I tote a Walther as I believe that they are more than adequate for concealed carry and performance ';-)
Thanks Brother! I love the PPS.... it's just so thin : )
Agreed, but my wife says "never too thin" although not really pertaining to firearms!
ConquestN98858
Pps are awesome, was my first cc firearm, i couldn't have been more happy, and still love the thing to this day.

6lb drop in trigger weight? That's an impressive break in! XD
