Super excited to see you guys give these away!
My older brother is a huge fallout fan and I’m really hoping to get him involved more with magic because so far his only interests have been Warhammer, DnD, and LoTR! So I think these decks would really make him geek out a little
Thanks for the great content as always❤️
oh cool! giveaways! love gamegenic

Eliot getting the TRUE Fallout experience in that the help he gave to another person DIRECTLY led to killing him
Vault 11 immediately resulting in backstabbing was very on point
A slight mistake that wasn't mentioned in the video: regardless of how you order your triggers, the Wise Mothman cannot target the zombies that Screeching Scorchbeast is about to create, because you need to declare targets when the trigger is put on the stack. You can only buff zombies that are already there when Mothman triggers.
Good video in any case.
yeah a little did you know, it's a good thing it didn't get to elliot's turn anyways because he probably would've won had he realized how many zombies he should've made.
@@EpIcBeardMan1994 I mean, Jim basically chose to lose there by taking Eliot out early. He could have let Eliot take out Alex, as there was no way to effectively block with how many zombies he forgot to make, and in the aftermath could beat Eliot by using the thopters to go for lethal.
I don't understand why the editor's note says he should create 6 zombies each time Alex/Jim mills since the scorchbeast says both 'one or more' and 'do this only once each turn'. What am I missing?
@@morgancarlton4544because it doesn't say you only create *one* zombie, but "that many"
@@morgancarlton4544 Screeching Scorchbeast
Flying, menace
Whenever Screeching Scorchbeast attacks, each player gets two rad counters.
Whenever one or more nonland cards are milled, you may create that many 2/2 black Zombie Mutant creature tokens. Do this only once each turn.
Basically if any player even the player who controls this card mills a nonland card CAN create a 2/2 black zombie mutant creature token this way. but this only happens once each turn.
Example would be player A has this card on the board, player A mills for 4 rads, mills 2 lands and 2 nonlands, they lose 2 rad counters. Player A now has a choice, they can choose to create two 2/2 zombie mutants or not because it is a May ability. but if they do choose to create the two zombies, they can't get the effect to go off again unless you have multiple scorchbeasts out or this one leaves the field and comes back.
Also the rad counters don't happen individually, they all happen at the same time so when his opponent milled 6 nonland permanents he could've chose to create all 6 zombie tokens or not, now he can't choose to only create one zombie like he did. His choice is he may choose to create those 6 zombie tokens or not since it is a "may," ability. but since he did he SHOULD'VE created 6 not just 1.
I hope this answers your question.
The only reason you'd choose NOT to create them is either you think you have a better mill spell or it can benefit your opponent if you do.
These sorta videos are actually so much more entertaining and easy to follow when it feels like a normal match with normal banter that I am just sitting in on an analyzing plays. Props for not over producing and trying to be over the top personalities, taking away from the game.
Totally agree, after command zone. Almost every RUclips channel on commander looks so fake.
Jerry didn't even cast Ceaser :( I was looking forward to seeing that deck do stuff. Well I guess I'll wait for the upstage video
Thank u for this. It’s the main reason I watched the video and he doesn’t even play it 🤦♂️ I won’t waste my time watching it
SAAAME😢
It was so sad to me :( also Ceasar is the strongest Card in this Deck! Could give him so much value. Don‘t understand him not playing It not even till turn 7
I am also curious why he got beat down so much with little board state for 2-3 turns lol
Unfortunately I didn’t read the commander very well. I thought Caesar himself had to attack rather than just any attack so I was always looking for a haste source, my bad.
Cant wait for the 4 way slugfest between Mothman, Megatron, the Indominus Rex, and Leonardo Da Vinci.
Da Vinci SECRET LAIR ALERT!!!
Benito Mussolini, and the Blue Meanie
Cowboy Curtis and Djambi the Genie!
Alex missed his first junk token, Dogmeat brought back a toy and he didn't want it 😢
What was I gonna do with a fifth Broken Power Armor Helmet? - Alex
@@TheSpikeFeederscherish it because Dogmeat is the goodest boy!
They caught it and fixed it the next turn at 21:00
Fun fact watching the Fallout MagicCon session. Dogmeat is actually the goodest of girls. 💜

Elliot, just in case, If you proliferate a player, you proliferate ALL counters that player has. You may not choose "only Rad/Energy". If Jim had a Poison counter and an Experience counter as well, you would proliferate all those counters.
This match made me crave even more the Sultai deck!
yeah, he was doing old proliferate where you could pick and choose.
Any number? Which means you can do zero. Which means you can choose what types of counters.
I read your comment and just went and looked at the rules. I could still be wrong.
@@noahbodhi8657 when it says " any number" it refers to the amount of permanents and/or players that will be proliferated. But, for each permanent/player you choose, all counters they have will receive one more. If you choose a creature that has all ability counters (indominous Rex or Kathril) and also has +1/+1s, all those counters will be proliferated, not just the ones you want.
Of course, the "any number" can be 0, in which nothing would happen.
@luisenriquerodriguezherrea8173 Sorry, I got confused. Ugh, wording. I see now that you mean the target/permanent, in this case, the player, and all counters on them. Gotcha.
@@stratavosstuff7575when did they even change that. ? I got into magic 2 years ago and have an Atraxa proliferate deck. I’ve been reading is as it says which is can proliferate any play and number of counters already there. If it changed how is a new player supposed to new something has changed? That changes how my playgroup has been playing proliferate besides toxic. Ugh
That split second around 33:00 where the camera cuts and Alex is just death staring the camera, only for it to immediately cut away had me rolling
Spoilers
@@famousstranger8468 it's a youtube video, not a motion picture at the theater. Get over it lmao
@@broken-gaydar yet you've made the mistake of thinking people care about what you have to say 😂
@famousstranger8468 all I did was point out something I thought was funny, and yet you thought it was a spoiler for some reason? I bet you didn't even catch the clip I'm talking about. It was over in a snap.
People make comments like this all the time, and personally I like finding when someone points out something funny in the video. It's not a spoiler lmao and if you view it that way then you should watch the whole video before looking at the comments like a normal person
its at 34:00 :)
I love watching gameplay with Alex in it, and the genuine excitement over Assemble the Legion ❤
Correct me if I'm misinterpeting things, but it sounded to me like Eliot was proliferating Jim's energy counters out of trying to buy goodwill with him, implying that he could have chosen not to.
But because of how Proliferate works (you pick a player or permanent, and put one additional counter of any kind thats already on that player or permanent), and both Energy and Rad are on Jim, I believe Eliot doesn't have the choice to give Jim Energy or not if he qants to proliferate him, he either gives him both Rad and Energy, or none of them.
Correct.
How does this work? On arena where I play proliferate can target any counter on the battlefield and can choose not to target counters. Why would this be different
@@TheSquirrelcrothnoticed this also
I don't play arena, maybe the rules are different? But also this rule is only relevant if a single permanent/player has more than one type of counter on it (eg. +1/+1 and Shield counter)
Maybe you have never been in a game state where this has been relevant?
Hm. I get what you're saying, but my understanding is that it always was proliferate: you choose any number of things with counters on them, and add one. So he could choose.
Just to clarify about a card eliot was playing; Screeching Scorchbeast states, Whenever one or more nonland cards are milled, you may create that many 2/2 black Zombie Mutant creature tokens. Do this only once each turn.
So this means that he would be making loads more tokens then just one per the rad mill triggers. Make them mutants!
Indeed. The editors noticed before uploading. Pretty wild card though, cannot wait to give it a go.
@@UltimateLoafI'm very curious about how the Mutant one feels to play. The Mirko one felt amazing.
see thats what i was thinking, came to the comments looking for this
@@ninjasalamMK3Mirko deck was well above precon level for me when I played it. I don't think precons should allow for players to pay 20 life to mill 40 and then rise of the dark realms lol, but we got it.
I had that surveilly guy, the surveil enchantment that lets you look at two more cards and rise in hand.
@@UltimateLoaf For precons that I've played. The Mirko one has been by far the most fun out of the box. I find it's value to be really good for new players and players like me who're always looking for reanimation stuff.
Hoping to get my hands on the Mutant one though. Mill strats are some of my favs, so seeing it work like that is neat. I also realized from watching the vid how different Rad actually worked from when I first read it. I love the synergies that the cards give, including incentivizing you to rad yourself.
Hey I'm only 60 seconds in, but you missed a trigger or played something wrong. I don't know what, but I thought I would engage in this way that also makes me feel smart
The precons look sweet. Excited for the rad deck
Yeah that looks rad 🫠
Rad counters were not as tedious as I thought they would feel and the new mechanics seem fun.
I loved seeing alex get extremely excited for assemble the legion
31:05 Jim, I love that idea! Vehicles with Squad!
I realized that during this deck introduction section that all of these are vying for my attention. I usually only buy one precon at most, but these are all very intriguing!
Instant respect for Jerry pronouncing Caesar correctly
Yes that was painful to watch
Enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing the decks. Looking to pick up the science one myself.
Super hyped for these decks!
Really wanted to see a bit more of the Caeser deck but poor Jerry got bullied.
I've never really had Magic on my radar, but as a fan of the Fallout game series, I immediately went for these cards and learned how to play commander.
Eliot always got me giggling and kicking my feet
Was looking forward to this! 🎉
6:56 is the perfect expression of playing against a green deck
You guys planning to have a rematch with these precons? Would most enjoy seeing it!
me2 big fan
We may or may not have a few more of these Fallout videos in the pipeline.
@@TheSpikeFeeders Yoooooooo nice!
When proliferateing a player they get another counter of each type meaning if jim got another rad from proliferate he got an energy as they are both counters on the player 52:11
that rad mechanic looks rad
Rex, Cyber-Hound is definitely a card I want to try out from this Fallout set
Moira is my favorite Fallout character. Never thought I'd see her on a MtG card!
Pretty sure Screeching scorchbeast says "create THAT MANY tokens". and "only once per turn". If you choose to do it when the opponent mills 6 nonlands ... you create that many.
Then he would've been able to block easily :/ Great game though
I really like the translucent green spike feeder dice, but over camera with a green playmat under them, its pretty tough to read the value of the dice on jim’s board sometimes. Perhaps on the next batch of them you could suggest larger pips and a thicker outline for the spike itself?
Awesome game, I am quite excited to get my hands on these cards, all of the new cards are pretty sweet. So far I have only done a mock up list for Mothman upgrades, but a Liberty prime (or any Multicolr robot legend) robot Kindred deck sounds really fun especially with all the support from Transformers, Dr who and now fallout for robots.
Sad, Jerry had the deck I really wanted to check out and I never even got to see the commander in action.
We have more episodes coming out this week, so you can see the deck again!
Man those basics are really cool.
looking foward to the upgraded versions :)
At about 38:50 there was a missed second half of the trigger on Rex, cyber hound that would have milled Alex 2 cards. No idea if this is pertinent to the final outcome but just wanted to mention it.
Eliot: “You can’t play a card in Face Up defense mode.”
*Laughs in Light of Intervention*
Can’t wait till you guys put your upgrades in
Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to get the upgrades in for the first batch of games, but we're considering doing an upgrade episode a little later on.
@@TheSpikeFeeders
Can't wait for that!
watching you guys play the precons is a blast. Love seeing how you react to cards, and shows off the base product for the people who are interest in how they play. see if they want to pick up the decks and try out the same things you do in the episode. Upgrades are fun to watch as well, see cool synergies with existing cards and how you guys put your own spin on the decks.
always happy to see you guys post a video, upgraded or no, its always a tonne of fun to watch these games.
Kellogg seems like such a good creature in general. I'd absolutely try him out in something like Canadian Highlander.
So as of War of the Spark, when you proliferate you proliferate each type of counter on each permanent and player chosen. So every time Jim was a proliferate target and he had both Energy and Rad, he should have gained one of both, because they're both counters on Jim. Most of the time that it was relevant, Eliot gave Jim an energy anyway, but it should have happened every time.
Don’t think it mattered but Rex mills two on combat damage. These cards have so much damn text lol
46:49 Jim, by putting your commander back into the command zone after exiling it with Rex, it's no longer an exiled card with a brain counter on it, so Rex won't have your commander's activated abilities anymore
He didnt send it to the command zone. he kept it exiled, they specifically talked about the replacement effect and chose to ignore it.
Im disappointed Jerry didn't cast Caesar, especially since he had so many securitons in play. Thats the deck im most interested in.
42:59 Just to make sure no one gets this wrong as people still do get it wrong at my LGS. When Eliot targets Jim he has no choice but to give him an extra energy counter. If you remember that you could only add to one counter, that's how it used to be before war of the spark. War of the Spark changed it to the following "Choose any number of permanents and/or players, then give each another counter of each kind already there."
So yeah, if you target someone with energy and/or experience counters they get those too. You got no say in that.
what’s the size of the playmats used? i feel mine is much smaller than what i typically see on the channel
“TAKE THE ENTIRE MOHAVE” instant like haha
You should do upgrades too! Love the content.
I began watching this really wanting mutants, but after seeing how this popped off idk if I want dogmeat or if I want science. Those decks popped off
Cool game. One thing tho is that Proliferate says that you target the player or permanent, and they get an additional of each counter they already have. So Elliot would target Jim and Jim should get a Rad and Energy counter, no choice for just one of them. Elliot could also choose not to target himself.
It actually does not /target/. Which is why it can give players with hexproof and poison counters more poison counters.
It was great meeting some of you at magiccon. Elliott im curious did you get your foil monolith or cradle.. i hope we get to jam commander in the near future
There are three constants in life: death, taxes, and Alex playing my favorite deck in any given pod. 🌵
Alex now has two pet dogs: Paco and Dogmeat.
Ten penny towers has such a beautiful view!!! Love that spell for flavor alone!
great video! new subscriber here from Tiny, ON , Canada !!
forgot the junk token when dogmmeat attacked
I want the Mothman deck, but I want an alter art that is Moss Mann from Monster Camp
Great game, so HYPE for this set!!!
Hail Caesar!
Solid as a rock.
Despite the gross misplay of proliferate that could have changed some scenario outcomes, the game was good. Can’t wait to see the upgrade video
Any tips on what two precons I should buy for me and a friend to learn the game? We got really excited when we saw the fallout product but can’t seem to find them locally
I am going to be really honest, none of these are new player friendly. However, my suggestions for newer players would be the Dogmeat deck and then either the Caeser deck or the Dr. Madison deck for the other one leaning towards the Caesar deck because combat centric decks tend to be easier to learn. I hope this helps and you can find the product!
Watched these three games backwards...still sweet!
Fallout is not something I have any affinity to or any dislike towards. You Spikes are people I like a whole lot so I'm here for this.
JUDGE!!!
Do the tokens made by Squading Securitron Squadron see themselves around the @31:50 mark? I know they'll see each other and get counters but wont they already be in play and not see themselves enter. Shouldn't they only get 2 +1+1 counters instead of 3?
Nope, permanents see themselves enter the battlefield.
@@CodenameJD I suppose the wording is throwing me. You'd usually see the words "Other" or "Another" on effects like this which would normally stop the tokens from seeing themselves. Thanks for the response.
@@Ringer149 It doesn't say another because that wouldn't apply to the original creature, so many players would find that confusing. That, and they wanted the effect to be more powerful by letting copies buff themselves.
38:53 Alex was supposed to mill 2 there but I guess it all worked out 😅😂
Noticed this one as well!
Elliot not making all the zombie tokens is actually very on theme for fallout and its many glitches. It just works.
Great game, very fun to watch!
Hydras growth is a super solid add to mutant deck
Ouf big fumble on that scorchbeast, one of my favourites in the set
I hope you guys make a chance to replay this match without errors, maybe from the first time Elliott should have generated 6 zombies.
my wife and i did end up getting 2 sets, 1 to keep together and one to take apart
Are there extra matches with these decks available via the patreon?
No, but we do have more coming out over the next little while
How did I not know about a cool Winnipeg based channel like this?
I want more... please? The video was really fun, can we have 17 videos more? :D
I want to see you guys play with Lonis, Genetics Expert. It goes infinite with a ham sandwich and Grinding Station is good in it
Question about 14:45 Why does Eliot say he is goaded? What card made mothman goaded?
GOATed, greatest of all time(d), see also "Goated with the sauce."
Did the precons come with the full art basics, or was that a modification?
These are straight out of the box. The lands are GORGEOUS.
I would love if you made rematch videos with these decks like you did with the Karlov Manor decks. Love your content I found you recently and have enjoyed alot.
Great game. I'm happy to know the Mothman should've won because as cool as all the decks are, that's the one that really speaks to me, and I'm super excited to build around it!
Looking forward to this!
2:38
Didn't realize until then that I wanted a Fantasic card
Great game; all the decks look very fun in their own way which reinforces my decision to have pre-ordered them all. I'm most looking forward to playing the Mothman one, though and it got a great showing today.
While always being interested in it, i never played Fallout. Propably going to buy it now tho, the set really peaked my interest in it
What’s the best out of the 4 decks
Jim would have got an Energy and Rad counters anyways because proliferate adds a counter of each type that player or permanent has. So it's either proliferate none or each counter on them.
No-one can resist the alluring eyes of Jim Lepage
All the hail the Bright one!!
Yugioh mentioned in magic let's go. Dogmeat looks adorable I want
Red Death has "Alluring eyes"? Nah, look at that art, those are _laser eyes_ !
If you scry hard enough it's like you drew
If you draw hard enough it's like you tutored
So if you scry extra hard it's like you tutored
The Fallout card look awesome though I really wish they would have made more power armor cards.
Do the full arts come with the decks?
Yes
"It will be a silent spring."
Can I pet that dawgggg!
That discussion with the rad counters and the saga drove me insane. They trigger at different times! End of draw step and beginning of pre combat main phase. He can't stack them in the opposite order.
wrong. 714.3b
Sagas don't get lore counters at the end of your draw step, but _after_ your draw step - which is just a shorter way of writing "at the beginning of your precombat main phase" in order to fit it on the card because it's only there as reminder text, not rules text. Placing the counter doesn't use the stack, so that'll happen automatically first, but that then triggers its chapter ability, which _does_ use the stack, at the same time as other "at the beginning of your precombat main phase" abilities, which can therefore be placed on the stack in any order.
Great game! Does anyone know where they get those dice from?
We sell them on our website! Restock pending in a few weeks. :)
Jim is just *chefs kiss* humor wise and his energy is 🔥 Wish he had a brother haha
Reading the cards explains the cards!! It's so annoying watching from the sideline sometimes😂😂😂 seeing missed triggers that could have changed the outcome or the flow of the game, happens to us all tho!! And I know all of these guys are much much better at this than me 😀
