Great video! A really fun deck selection! Note about Evelyn is that she says you get to play a card from your collection on EACH turn, so you can flash things out on other players' turns as well!
Being fair to everyone, I watch almost every one of these episodes during my shifts while they are slow, and I could be glancing away from the screen at any time, especially when the players lay out their whole turn verbally. absolutely love this video! as a new player, my only rec would be: in the center of the screen, instead of fading in between cards, simply cutting between them (or fading much faster) would make them more readable! i find myself pausing at weird times where the card doesn't get a chance to fully fade in just to try and read it. i think showing the card is a useful and interesting part of the video though, thanks!
My first cedh deck was Kroxa too! These days I changed it to Jeska, Thrice Reborn and Tevesh Szat Doom of Fools to have more utility from the command zone if Worldgorger combo is off.
A quick question...when Jim flashed in the notion thief, after the counterbalance resolves Aaron let's the notion thief resolve and then plays sheoldreds edict after it has ETB...is this because its on the end of his turn so he gains priority again allowing him to do this?
@@pupsabre27Heliod can activate it's ability to give lifelink even if it's not a creature, which would kill the Phantasmal Image because it gets sacrificed whenever it's targetted.

Alex my friend. My buddy. Please don't play Heliod like this. He's my pet deck and it hurts my soul to see my boy being missplayed lol. Never play ballista unprotected. You get like 2 chances with that combo, one with ballista and one with triskelion, that's pretty much it. You're up against a blue player that has drawn A LOT of cards. The only time you play an unprotected ballista is if the 2 blue players have just had a counter-war. Otherwise you wait for silence. That's how you win with heliod, it's very parasitic but that's how it is.
@@j2c695The equal power levels is so huge. Every time I sit to a casual pod it feels so hard to line up appropriate decks together, but cEDH just takes off the bumpers and asks you to let loose and play to win. Nobody gets salty about little stuff and you get to try and play around/through interaction, which just kind of isn't a dynamic that exists in casual EDH.
Can someone please ask Alex to stop shifting tenses? It's irrationally infuriating to have him say things like "we'll play a Plains for turn and I'll attack Eliot for 2"
That isn't a shift in tense. Both are present tense. He's just shifting between first person singular and first person plural, and then only barely, because English has a historical slang called "the royal we."
Nah. "The royal we" is nonsense in this context. It makes no sense to say "we'll play a plains" instead of "i'll play a plains" or "we'll go ahead and attack jim" instead of "i'll attack jim". And switching between them constantly without rhyme or reason is even more nonsense. @@CrownlessStudios
Glad to see Eliot back! Although calling Rushing River terrible and getting blown out shortly after seems like extreme Karmic Justice. 😂
You might say he was sent up a river without a paddle :)

Elliot we definitely noticed and I for one am very happy to see you.

Small thing about the counterbalance, I’m pretty sure “may reveal” doesn’t mean “look at top of library, then etc…” 😅
There's an editor's note that addresses it, but holy hell is that so much additional information Aaron gets
They address this directly with big words on the screen when that happened. Not sure how you missed it lol
I see that now 😂 was washing dishes and missed the editors note in my first watch lol

Tymna/Jeska is pretty sweet too with a few different options for loops alongside gorger and very able to play through a grind.
I like to think that Alex in his shirt is a Heliod cosplay.
30:07 Aaron forgets he has a 1 drop on top of deck for counterbalance, and so does Alex, but it doesn't matter because aaron spends misstep on it.

Bloodchief Ascension can only accumulate one counter a turn even if multiple opponents lost 2 or more life.
Couldn't heliod have targeted phantasmal image with his life link ability to get rid of it?
Ooo kroxa i just pulled the numbered one from a collector pack
Rushing River is used as a tempo piece mainly...
Bounce problematic permanent and something like your own Mana Crypt, Docko or what have ya....
Holy shit calling Alex american like that it in the intro is fucking hilarious
ok, rest in peace in, I just advanced to search the moment it was out. #kroxa
Alex's intro was way too on point.
Impressively, the dead bird only would have triggered 3 times in like, what felt like 5 or 6 turn cycles. Which is very low if you think about it
I think Aaron getting to look at his deck every time a spell is cast had much bigger impact on the game than if Shredder stuck around

It exercises its right to bear arms.
