The absolute genuine affection between them, and Ed's respect for Les is something you don't see in music at all anymore. I always remember Les's quote to Eddie; "Only three people know how to build a guitar. You, me and Leo Fender."
Brian could build guitars from parts but I have never read or heard anything about an improved piece of one. EVH improved about 10 aspects of guitar parts to make his guitars sound and react the way he wanted them to. At least six of the are now the standard why the entire guitar industry does it, the best of all was potting the pickups. @@philosopher0076
It's not the speed or technical stuff that makes me admire him....it's his humbleness and sheer humility shown towards les paul. His solo's and effects get all the attention BUT he's in another league on playing rhythm. Thanks for just being spontaneous and yourself Ed.

If you played guitar in the 70s 80s and 90s like I did I bet there was times when you came up with a riff that you thought was just so cool. Well Eddie always had one that was cooler. The guy was just the best and he will live forever in our hearts our minds and our ears. God bless you Eddie and Rest In Peace.

It's hard to believe that Eddie is no longer with us anymore. What an inspirational person he was and of course the best undisputed guitar player of our time! We miss you Eddie R.I.P
I know. I'm still shocked and this is two years after your remark. Paul McCartney once said (as if describing a film) Brian Epstein and been "wrenched out of the picture." Eddie was ripped out of the film, out of the picture suddenly and it's kind of frightening.
Thanks for posting the video of these 2 legends. It’s great seeing this for the first time. Eddie will continue to inspire us all for generations. Long live the King.
Eddie is showing us the living embodiment of the saying "I can see what I see because I stand upon the shoulders of the Giants who came before me." Its an awesome thing to see a meeting of 2 brilliant geniuses from 2 different eras, and see that there's mutual respect and admiration between them. I live for stuff like this.

This would have been an incredible supergroup: Eddie Van Halen, Tony Levin, Jan Hammer, and (I don't know who's drumming).. Their jam here is just phenomenal..
@@johncoleman4986 Omg...i didn't recognise him there. No wonder Eddie was showing him so much respect. They should have done a Mahavishnu number, mind.
Imagine Les Paul in heaven is saying the exact same thing to Eddie as we speak, "Eddie what are you doing here"

EVH is now giving God some guitar lessons.
oh okay I heard he was having lunch with Jimi Hendrix and Duane Allman
Right now you could be playing more guitar
Right now, Eddie is thanking God for allowing him his mark.
Eddie giving Les lessons? Nice theory. I bet they're more like jammin'!
No coke booze or groupies in heaven. Eddie would have jumped ship and headed south.
Brought tears to my eyes EVH we miss you thank goodness for all the recordings you gave us
The kiss says it all
Seems like a son kissing his fantastic, lovely dad

And in some ways he was humble enough that if you came up with a truly great riff, he would probably give you full credit for it.
Thank you Ed. Honestly, thank you Les, Leo, and Ed. You three invented and perfected the solid body electric guitar.
Top Edward, he's the King. 👑❤️👑❤️

Que lujo ver a EVH junto a Tony Levin tributando juntos a Les Paul !! Super emocionante el respeto y cariño genuino entre Les Paul y EVH

Two great inventors!
Always had a smile on his face a true gentleman and badass all in one.
Two legends that are gone and never forgotten. I know how Wolfgang feels I lost my father and my mother passed last year. God bless Wolfgang
Wish there was way more stuff with EVH and Tony Levin throwin back and forth.
Eddie loved him like a father. Salute
In 2022 Nijmegen (Netherlands) decided to name a street: Eddy van Halen street 😀(also a wall painting). He lived in Nijmegen for 7 years.😁
I'm Still crying
All of us! 🙏🎸

The breakdown section at the 4:36 mark is so bad ass. I could listen to that part over and over again. 5️⃣1️⃣5️⃣0️⃣=\//-/=🔥🤘👍
Eddie looks like a kid talking to Santa Claus the way he looks at Les. So adorable. Both great guys.
If heaven has a R&R band, they have a hell of a lineup 😁 RIP & thank you for the music
Two things that still don't seem real. Eddie van Halen and marvelous Marvin hagler both gone . Rip champs
Soooo good

THE GREAT THING ABOUT EDDIE AND LES, IS THAT THEY NEVER FORGOT WHERE THEY CAME FROM, OR WHO AND HOW IT CAME TO PASS.
Nobody….Nobody was cooler than Eddie.
