Wow. The legend of Kyrandia series was my favorite of all point and click adventures (my favorite games period in fact). And to think, most people don't even have it in their top 50 point and click lists. I just don't get it. The memories this evokes gives me chills. This series was my childhood.

I think i was 10 or 11 when this came out and back then the internet was so new it didn't have any websites for game walkthroughs so it took months to solve the entire game or you could call this 1900 number that charged a dollar an hour and I remember my parents so pissed off at me when the phone bill came in the mail and showed a $58 charge to the hint line I called and I remember they talked so slow on the phone when providing a hint. the space quest series were also one of my favorites.

I used to try to play this game when I was younger. I think around 98-2000 or so. I could never figure it out. Granted I was like 5-7 haha. I have fond memories regardless and I still have the disc. Just wish I could play it!

From the 3 games in the series, the ONE is the best for me. Kyrandia 2 and Kyrandia 3 are good games, but there is too much parody for my taste. Kyrandia 1 was a much serious game, which I liked a lot.

you did the gold coin task in morning mist a bit of a round-a-bout way, if you get one gold coin and gamble with a horse shoe on the floor (one facing up - a 'lucky horse shoe') you win everytime :o)
Not even sure if you are still active. But here's a hint that'd speed up your time by a little bit. If you take a lucky horseshoe (a horseshoe that is pointed upward), you can drop it outside of the bar with the octopus and you'll win every time. So you only need to make the coin once, then beat the octopus twice to get your three coins.

It's the classic Tower of Hanoi puzzle, modified so you can only move the largest piece of the tower instead of the smallest. Wikipedia has an exhaustive article on it, but in short: - You can only move one piece at a time. - You can only move the largest piece of a tower. - You cannot put a smaller piece on top of a larger piece. The goal is to move the whole tower from one hole to the other.
I was wondering that too.I have never played this game but what I inferred is it looks like you can't pick up the teeth without using the magnet else wise you probably get dialogue from the guy saying not to get near him .
If you tried to pick up the gold tooth, the pirate would notice, saying that's his tooth and he would take it back. If you turned it to lead, then he didn't mind.
Perhaps you're using floppy version. It has no voice. You can check it in game menu. If the name is CD Rom in the title, then you'll need to put digital samples in Kyrandia's SETUP app. If it's a floppy, you'll need to download CD one

why is the intro 10000x better more polished looking in this one than in the third installment? the third game just looks like shit compared to this one, very disappointed actually (and its waay more boring).
i agree, i remember playin this as a kid on dos. enjoyed the first one, then loved the 2nd one especially the ending but then they dropped the ball on the third. Malcom comin back i thought was gonna awesome but I didn't enjoy it that much playing as him. Woulda much rathered the 3rd one being another adventure vs the guy.
It was neat how they added the plot twist about Malcom but that was about it. I was actually hoping they'd go back to playing as Brandon after the second. He became king and then you never got to see him do anything
3rd one was an attempt at being original, which the 2 first parts were not, let us agree. The option to be serious, joke or sarcastic dialogue, the pseudo 3d, the abstract landscapes etc. All very mid 1990s, while the first two parts essentialy were early 90s games, very comparable to kings quest 4 etc
This game is a bit overrated. It's puzzles are mostly mixing ingridients and hidden object game. Though the art is beautiful I must say and Xantia is hot ;) It had potential but it's not nearly as good as the classics such as Monkey Island or even Simon the Sorcerer.
MineColony Upvoted for saying zanthia was hot lol. The puzzles were actually not outlandish compared to most adventure games, I thought. One of the reasons I liked it so much.
actually I think mixing the right ingredients was even harder than Monkey or Simon, also this game was far beyond its time, where everybody use text based commands, Hand of Fate only use one single pointer, like all adventure agmes nowdays

I thinks there was actually 2 versions. 1 Disk version (without audio dialogue, lo lighten it) and 1 CD version with Audio.
