I love The Hand of Fate! I Love Xanthia! I love the silly voice acting! I love the chill soundtrack! I love the little frogs on their toadstools! I think I might actually still have this on CD somewhere.
As far as I can remember, Zanthia was very ... serious about blueberries. I somehow remember you had to get blueberries for her in the first game (I don't remember why, and considering you didn't have to, this got me kinda stumped), and when you went to get some but didn't go straight to her afterwards, she wouldn't't accept them while complaining that they weren't FRESH. I really hated her at that moment, lol.
Yeah, the puzzles in Book Two are way harder than One. I remember never being able to leave the first island when playing as a kid. Especially because the play on words on the snake-potion-receipt was badly translated, and thus not solvable in my language with logic (and taking it literally).
A favorite point n' click classic, played all 3 (in the third you get to play as the antagonist fr the first). The 2nd and 3rd are more playful in atmosphere than the first. Click the mountains 🏔🏔 in the fishermen scene!
Oh no, I saw this too late! I'll probably miss lots of random sillyness (and probably spare myself a mountain of puns in the meantime.....pun intentional?)
Literally caught it 30 seconds after I stopped recording, and really glad I was in time for the Fable trailer! I thought it was really fun, lots of great trailers - I feel like games are finally ramping up again after covid! Loved the Monkey Island/Sea of Thieves trailer, despite me never playing Sea of Thieves :) Avowed still looks promising, and I'm begrudgingly hyped for Starfield now haha
Yeah, I thought about tweaking some of the audio in the beginning, pre-subtitles, but the music was kind of loud. I'll double check my volume levels for the next one, too.
Wow. The version that has voices certainly has some... voices. Definitely the superior version was the older one with no voices. Still had all the awesome music. But none of whatever that excuse for voices is.
I finished this series last year, and I feel like this is the first time I'm learning that there weren't originally voices!! The voice acting in the 1st game was....fascinating....this one felt more normal, at least. By comparison.

I really like the music in these games, or any game Frank Klepacki did the music for. What did you think of the XBOX showcase?
