i remember seeing sleep token in sydney tickets and deciding not to go because I didn’t know them too well, I listened to take me back to eden and i seriously regretted not going. I managed to get tickets and words cannot describe how excited I am, it was worth the wait
I had this same experience back when Sundowning first came out and they were on tour. I had work off that night and could’ve easily gone but I figured I didn’t wanna go watch a bunch of obscure bands I didn’t care about just to see another (at the time) obscure band that I had been vibing with. REALLY regret it all these years later haha

I'm sorry Nik, you have some good takes that I agree with most of the time, but you're wrong about Rain.
It's not about crying either. It's about starting a new relationship with someone in order to forget about the horrible feelings left over from past relationships. "Just like the rain, you cast the dust into nothing, and wash the salt away from my hands". "Salt" being the unwanted feelings of pain and heartbreak. Being with someone else makes him feel good in that moment, if he has someone to touch and to hold he can allow himself to heal. (He's being "cleansed with pleasure") It's helping to wash away the trauma.. "so rain down on me". He's COMPARING the girl to rain. He's not saying, _aww yeah girl, spray your juices all over me!_

I don't think any Sleep Token Song is written with the Lore in mind. The three Albums are clearly concept Albums about the beginning (this place will become your tomb) middle (Sundowning) and end (Take me Back to Eden) of a toxic relationsip and the Process of getting Out of it. Yes Vessel is playing with the duality of the Lyrics. They are kinda sexual at some point but that's clearly not the only thing to it. Most of the lyrics can be seen as metaphors and wordplay.
Most of take me back to Eden is just horny nonsense but it sounds cool

I caught BMTH with Parkway Drive, Architects, and TDWP around 2011. Arguably the best tour lineup I've ever seen

Why would Sleep Token, a band that surrounds themselves in mistery, lore and myth, write such beautiful lyrics just for one meaning? The lyrics and the sensual tone do fit into: the journey to a climax.( I don't think its dirty when you write it so well).
Then again rain has such a profound meaning in many human cultures. Even more so in ancient civilizations around the world. Rain would often be a god sent that could wash their problems away. In that sence of importance this song could have a far more emotional meaning between 2 people. Either way, love the song

I am not too sure what to say. I think this song is very clearly about finding new love and cleansing the writer from salt (salt is corrosive, meaning basically constant destruction). The salt here would be the reamins of th previous relationship, which is still eating him up, until the new love comes around, described as the rain, washing the salt off. Sorry to disappoint everyone her.
