I discovered them on SeriousXM When Noah from Bad Omens took over and mentioned that he took inspiration from Sleep Token. For his Octane Takeover he played "The Love You Want" and i fell so fucking hard. I was in love and listening to all of their music. I waited all night into the morning the day the Take Me Back To Eden album dropped. Saw them live during their US tour and im just waiting for them to announce another. I need them to come back!!!
That’s awesome! I don’t listen to the radio but hearing how SiriusXM Octane and Liquid Metal have helped so many people discover bands is really cool and will help the genre forward! That US tour was MAGICAL, can’t wait to see them again!
I just had the privelage of seeing Sleep Token live a week ago and it was an absolutely beautiful experience! About 2-3 yrs ago,I remember hearing of this band on the site Ultimate Guitar from an article interview with Corey Taylor of Slipknot and this was one of the 3 bands he said was going to blow up in the next few years as there was a video link to Alkaline and it was the first time I ever heard a Sleep Token song and it was dam good, but it didnt draw me in, fast forward to around 4 months ago the title track of TMBTE popped up in my feed on YT I listened and was absolutely floored! This catalyzed my newly formed obsession with Sleep Token and now I know all of their songs, Ive never had a band do this to my brain as they have, there is something special about this band and I believe the emotion and genuosity play that key role I've been looking for in modern music, Worship!
What have you been sleeping under a rock all year? Lol. This band is quite literally all over the place, you can't get away from then even if you tried.
It took a minute to get into Sleep Token, but now I'm hooked. I also love ghost and have been a fan for them since they started. Got to see them with my oldest in August and their show was AMAZING. I hope to be able to see Sleep Token live now!
I saw them first at a concert (didnt know them before my boyfriend took me there) and immediately fell in love with their unique music style. They quickly became one of my favourite bands and I cant wait to hear more from them!
I first heard of Sleep Token last year thanks to tiktok. They have quickly became one of my favorite bands. Alkaline, Vore, Sugar, and Elucid are some of my favorites of theirs!
I love Take Me Back To Eden, Atlantic, Rain, Blood Sport, The Summoning, Ascencionism, The Aparition, Jaws, Alkaline, Chokehold... And about what genre they are, they're everything. In one long song, there are at least 2 genres lol
Love Sleep Token. My favourite is Chokehold, or maybe Rain, or Ascensionism, no, Take Me Back To Eden, or maybe Alkaline, or actually I really love Summoning.....
It absolutely blows my mind how insanely intelligent and creative the "man behind Vessel" (so to say) is, just to come up with all of this and string it all together and all the references etc.. The deeper I get into the lore and the story they're telling the more enraptured I am.
Sleep Token are my band of the year so far and I don’t see that changing. My favourite track by far is Take Me Back To Eden, but Jaws is a solid second. Great video man!! Sub’d
I started listening to Take Me Back to Eden (just the song) last summer after a friend told me to check them out but finally did a deep dive earlier this year. They are now my whole personality. I just saw them live four times in the past two weeks and will be chasing them around the UK in November. What is my favourite Sleep Token song? Yes (but probably a tie between The Love You Want and Euclid). Their genre? Yes. There is just something about Vessel's voice that pulls me in and keeps me there and not a day goes by that their music isn't playing. I love the emotions their music evokes in me. They have truly helped me through an incredibly difficult time in my life and I could not be more grateful to them for how they have helped me heal.
When I heard Gods, first thing I thought was this is going to be my new nu metal fixation for months, it turns out that song was just a particle of the spectacular sound universe of Sleep Token
I first heard them in 2017 when Calcutta (still a single at that time) popped up randomly on a Spotify playlist catered to me. Immediately fell in love with the song, but didn’t get into the band until a couple years later when Sundowning came out. Have been a fan since, and it seriously warms my heart to see them have the success they’re having now! I just saw them play a sold out show just a few days ago, and it was an amazing experience! I’m excited to watch them continue to grow
Honestly don’t know how to choose one song as a favourite, it’s like asking a parent to choose their favourite child 😂 Ascensionism is probably up there, but as an acoustic musician, Missing Limbs has a very special place in my heart. This band is generational, long may it continue. Worship.
Just discovered them today while in HMV in Watford ( UK that is) looking for PJ Harvey’s latest vinyl. It was playing in the shop and likes it instantly and then liked even more when queuing to pay I noticed the geeky girl at the till was singing alone while serving customers in front of me. I asked her who they were and boy did I make her day!! 😂 she told me all about them and I cannot thank her enough! Way to go!
My favorite song by them is Alkaline with The Apparition in a close second I would consider them a form of rock with metal elements. Rock is definitely the prominent one, I think of metal when I hear songs like Vore, The Summoning, or Take Me Back To Eden when it has Vessel screaming.
So do you have any plans to cover newer, lesser known bands that you feel should get a bit more exposure? Maybe a bit of backstory, some song and video clips, etc, like you did for Sleep Token, but in more of an “introductory” style than a “recap” style. You could even debut new songs for them.
A lot late to the party here! I've listened to 'Take Me Back to Eden' about a dozen times the past 2 days and I still keep finding more in that song. This band is phenomenal.
I love two most popular songs, The Summoning and TMBTE. But their heaviest stuff like Vore and Gods would also be in my top songs. I love his screams. From the other side, Atlantic is definitely my favourite from second album, I thought it would make me cry in first listen.
What’s crazy to me is there are people who know who they are. There’s no way that their family or very close friends don’t know and the fact that they all hold the secret is super cool
Nice video, I'm seeing them this weekend at Riot Fest and despite having a few songs on my playlist for the fest didn't know much about them aside from their looks.. They are a must see before they blow up anymore than they already have.
My wife showed me Take me back to eden, and didn't think much of it at first. I couldn't even finish the song. I gave it another shot and now I've been listening to that and Vore on repeat for now day 3. Absolutely amazing so far!
Can't pick a favorite yet but I absolutely love all of Take me back to Eden. I call them ambient industrial, with a strong pop sensibility that gets rather genre bending at times
Vore is far and away my favorite. Many others are in tier 2 and interchangeable by day, Alkaline, Summoning, Granite, Euclid, The Apparition, Hypnosis, Atlantic, Telomeres, Jaws.
I'd say stay with us in the UK mate and do the mighty Architects or Bring Me. Both have been so influential to heavy music. And, I would like to see you to do a listen through of each album and the EP's (maybe do the two EP's, Jaws and The Way That You Were in one episode). Can't tell you may favourite song as they have so many bangers, but I love The Offering.
Bring Me is on the list, Architects too, both massively influential bands, UK is currently booming for amazing bands, and a listen through would be super cool! Haven’t thought of doing that but maybe it can be in the cards
its not just synergy in their music, its the small pauses and intricate timing that made them stand out and switch tonality and genres.. like kpop for example..
With your question on favorite song it’s Blood Sport because it just made me think of how it fit with all my past relationships where I was doing whatever I could to hold the relationship together at the expense of myself and now I’ve found the right person and I can see how different it it but the song just made me relate to Vessel and that’s why it’s my favorite but Granite is my girlfriends favorite me and her both went through toxic relationships and all
I wish I would've heard of them sooner. Immediately fell in love with their sound when I saw them as an opener for Slipknot this year. They are truly amazing. Going to see their ritual live in 4 days 🫀
Just saw them live two days ago...what a freakin amazing show it was. They are all so talented and it shows. Probably one of my favorite concerts of all time!
Yea. I don’t enjoy all of the labels put on them. They are sleep token. It’s pretty hard to box them into anything. They’re just amazing. There’s no specific genre as you eluded to. If/when I get the privilege of seeing them live in south Florida I’ll be happy. Crying to most of their songs. It’s wild. And they are ally are an enigma. Thanks for the video. Nothing I didn’t already know but still informative for someone that knows nothing about them. Beautiful music that gets hard occasionally. Lol I think that’s fair
Listen. I’m not a mask girl & have absolutely HATED the metal scene post 2000(Gen X, obviously). BUT ever since whatever angel algorithm hooked me up to the last part of the Summoning, I was indeed SUMMONED. This band has had a CHOKEHOLD on me in the last month, and I’m at the SATURATE ME I CAN’T GET ENOUGH stage. O. M. G. What an incredible band.
So since low key slipknot is dying low key I like this new band tbh they bring a nice unique sounds kinda how slipknot started out not saying they are the same or are living up to them but it’s cool to see a underdog win once again hope they stay united ❤
Would love to see a beginner’s guide to Ren - there’s a great article on him in UK Rolling stone, his independent album went #1 this past October in the UK over Rick astley, drake and Ed Sheeran, and he’s got an incredible story of struggle and triumph over 13 years of misdiagnosed Lyme disease, his viral hit Hi Ren has over 21 million views in 1 year and his thank you for 1 million subs video is a great watch. Thanks 🙏 ❤ ps sleep token is definitely an enigma and I love them
Great video. I’s the first I’ve seen of you! Loved it so I subbed. I heard of SleepToken back in May from my husband after he listened to them on the suggestion of a friend. I listened casually until bam: I heard the most amazing song ever called “Aqua Regia”. I just saw them in Denver and I was blown away! Amazing “ritual”! They are overall hard rock, but a genre bending sound all their own. Their songs are complex musically and lyrics are either gut wrenching or babymaking tunes, sometimes both at the same time! I call them “pantry droppers” #aleeptoken #worship
they fit not one category. Vessel's voice is incredible Have now seen them live 4 times They put it all out there I love the summoning it's his voice that does it for me and they just suck you right in for the mystical ride every show. Soundwise live just incredible
Sleep Token really is like a religious experience. Alot the songs that didn't blow up are my favorites. Missing limbs and are you really okay? And Atlantic. These songs are so special because it feels like a god is talking about the same pain as you. It's a truly spiritual experience for me personally. Vessel is how I imagine a god to sound. Their music is music I imagine a god would write.
I’ve been listening to sleep token since 2019 I really love Sundowning it’s such a good album. I forgot about sleep token for a few years until the 2021 album TPWBYT, And when I saw Will Ramos’s cover of Chokehold in 2023 I figured they were releasing a new album soon, and boy they did not disappoint
My favorite sleep token songs are as follows: Vore, Aqua Regia, The summoning, Chokehold, Hypnosis, Altantic, Telomeres, TAKE ME BACK TO EDEN(full album :) ) This place will become your tomb, Every song sleep token makes.
Id be down for a full album review, these guys run the gamut genre wise, but whatever they dip their toes into they kill. With the lore and the genre bending( not to mention god tier vocals), the only band i can begin to compare them to is Coheed and Cambria, while stylistically very different, the spirit, vocal prowess and lore make this the only comparison i can begin to make
Watching this because I’m absolutely hyped for their Berlin concert tomorrow. Anyway pretty informative and nice, just hoped to hear how they actually gained popularity, like was there some TikTok Trend with one of their songs orrrr what happened that this music reached the masses all of the sudden
Thanks for the kind words! It actually wasn’t one specific thing, it’s just the summoning blew up everywhere and developed hype on all social media, including tiktok, RUclips and Facebook/instagram. I appreciate you checking out the video, and I recommend checking out a newer video in the series, since this was the pilot and the shortest episode. A full sleep token lore/hidden messages video coming in the coming weeks!
My least favourite part about them getting hate is that people are like “THEY ARENT METAL WAAAHHH WAAHHH WAAHHH” like calm down they never claimed to be. Also you can’t tell me that the summoning isn’t metal like that’s just fucking stupid. Bands are allowed to do what they want with their music, like how a lot of their songs switch genres, which is just fucking cool. People hating on them for not being JUST metal need to grow up and realise that they’re doing cool shit out there 😂
Hey everyone! Thank you so much for checking out the video! Be sure to follow me on my other social media! linktr.ee/thenoskipshow

Main reason I love metal
Completely agree!
He really does, to the point of crying fairly regularly. I can't blame him, it shows just how much of himself he put into his lyrics.

Actually **
Genre boarders are lowering and sleep Token are helping contribute to that, super cool to see!
Sleep is Hypnos brother of Death (thanatos), and as a son of Night (Hes. Theog.)
Freaking genius band name
Genius!
the first song of theirs i listened to was the summoning but i love take me back to eden
Thanks 🙏 ❤ ps sleep token is definitely an enigma and I love them
Love the mention of ghost, please do a beginners guide to ghost!
My thoughts too! Ghost video! 🤘🏻🤘🏻👻
Forget the image gimmick or whatever, the music is really good wow, found them randomly on Spotify
Welcome to the club! Music is the most important aspect of them for me and they knock it out of the park.
Soundwise live just incredible
first song i heard from them was Alkaline, I was blown away and been a fan ever since
Sleep Token really is like a religious experience.
Now do a "Beginner's guide to Sleep Token mythology/lore"... if you were to make THAT video, color me impressed...
This is a good idea! Coming soon 👀
Yeah I was waiting for the ghost comparison. And honestly I have them in the same playlist
Sleep token invented a new genre : Sexy Metal
That's been a thing with the 80s hair and glam metal bands or 90s with type 0 negative or 2000s with HIM playing love metal

The track Nazareth got me hooked. That was back in 2017. Now they've blown up big time. Great band. So unique. Potential festival headliners.
My favorite sleep token songs are as follows: Vore, Aqua Regia, The summoning, Chokehold, Hypnosis, Altantic, Telomeres, TAKE ME BACK TO EDEN(full album :) ) This place will become your tomb, Every song sleep token makes.
Seeing them at Blue Ridge was the highlight of my weekend fr
Glad that set could still happen
Id be down for a full album review, these guys run the gamut genre wise, but whatever they dip their toes into they kill. With the lore and the genre bending( not to mention god tier vocals), the only band i can begin to compare them to is Coheed and Cambria, while stylistically very different, the spirit, vocal prowess and lore make this the only comparison i can begin to make
beginners guide to KC and the Sunshine Band!!! LETS GO!!
They are pure gold& they are just wee sweethearts with it WORSHIP ❤
🤘🏻🤘🏻
The final section of the summoning is not jazz influenced, it's very much funk. Just listen in comparison to the popular funk albums of the 70s.
Do a beginners guide to Coheed and Cambria!
Discovered them on Drumeo recently. Hell of a band.
Hard to choose just one… but Euclid, levitate, rain, granite, fall for me, the love you want is top tier!
The love you want’s music video is absolutely perfect
im seeing them tomorrow live and i cant wait!
People hating on them for not being JUST metal need to grow up and realise that they’re doing cool shit out there 😂
@@MnstrNrgGn 10000% agree 🤘🏻
They remind me of a band called Clutch. Loved this video you shared! Thanks so much!
Love this series. Would like Flipturn if you haven't covered them. I already saw y'all's carseatheadrest video and that was fun
Love sleep token 💜 can u talk about baby metal are they just a gimmick ?!
Nicely done, buddy!
I appreciate your enthuziasm and all the great info you transmited.
Thank you so much!
The Night Does Not Belong to God is one of my favorites too. This was a great vid!
Thank you so much! That song is just so perfect, the buildup to that last section is just magical
@@thenoskipshow couldn’t agree more. It always feels like its my first time hearing it.😅
@@thenoskipshow and ii is truly an amazing drummer and adds so much depth to the music itself. He is my favorite drummer right now hands down.
absolutely it is and im part of it.
For now my favourite song is Ascensionism. I consider Sleep Token like a mix between RnB, metal(core) and trap, so like RnB trapcore lol😂.
I think it would be interesting to do a beginner's guide to avenged sevenfold
Noted!
I love Take Me Back To Eden and The Summoning
Review the latest album. Im also a follower of Sleep. Sleep Token hooked me on The Summoning and TMBTE
An incredible drummer for sure.
Completely agree!
Sorry but nothing will ever beat when that last chorus of chokehold kicks in
Rain is my favorite!
Seeing them on Sunday!! Aqua Regia and Alkaline on repeat!
Have a blast! They are amazing live!
