“What do you do for fun? “ A loaded question. George was a charmer in this interview. I am not sure when he got sober but he sounded as clear as can be here. What a thing to live down your reputation and emerge a gentleman.

Best voice ever in country music! He seemed like just, a humble, sincere guy in his interviews.

If you have ever seen any of the Tales from the Bus clips on RUclips, many of the people close to Tammy and who worked with Jones say that they don’t think he cared about money or being famous. They all kind of thought that he drank because he couldn’t handle being on the stage. I know he is the voice of country music and I’m thankful I got to see him on stage before he passed away.

George Jones was remarking on hear say and trash, well in this interview you get to hear it right from the legend himself, it's full of wonderful recollections and all about what really matters in country music even 35 years later. So to me this hour interview is a treasure indeed.

I'm a George Jones, Hank, and of course, a Connie Smith fan. Twenty years ago, after my father had died, it was Father's Day and Connie Smith played in Madison, WV. She was kind enough to sign one of her records from 1959 that my father had given me before he died. Once A Day and Tiny Blue Transistor Radio... so awesome....much love from West Virginia.

Ole George could see the writing on the wall, talking about country music going pop back in 1984. Boy how right he was. Was this a radio interview when Ralph was on WSM? Thanks for sharing.
