Reply to Charles I was thirty-three years old when I had to get off alcohol I owned Three nightclubs Customers would come in and asked if I was still on the wagon.? After a year I told a customer nope I'm driving the wagon hang in there❤❤
Can’t wait to meet him in heaven! George Jones is my brother in Christ and if you belong to the Lord then he’s your brother too🙌❤️🙌! Glory to God we got a better day coming and it will last for all eternity! Thank you Lord Jesus for dying for old sinners like us! Thank you! Thank you Lord!!!!!!
I vividly remember when I was about 16 years old my late father suddenly yelling for me to come into the living room. He said son come quick and listen. This, he said is probably the greatest country song of all time. I stood and listened to George Jones sing He Stopped Loving her Today on TV. (before the internet and when TV only had 12 or so channels) And as a ACDC, Motley Crue loving teen I was taken aback and absolutely floored. Thank you Dad and thank you George for forever turning me onto REAL country music.
George wasn't the greatest living country singer. He was the greatest country singer EVER! I used to pray for him. My daddy was an alcoholic, and God saved him. I wanted the same for him. Couldn't imagine him missing heaven. I was so thrilled to hear his testimony, and his last words to Nancy. Knowing he's in heaven, with my Mama and Daddy who so loved him, is something I'm so grateful for, bc it's proof once again of God's endless mercy and grace! One day we'll all sing praise together!
Thank you George for recording 73 songs that EARL PEANUTT MONTGOMERY wrote. You were such a good friend, a good person and the best ever singer. We love you soooo much and miss you even more. I know YOU LOVED US AS MUCH AS WE LOVED YOU. And i know we'll see you again, You're in a place now where there is no hatred, jealousy, threat, and we will some day make up for the time we didn't get to be together in your last years. We are soo proud that you finally come to realize that JESUS is the answer. Thank you Vestal Goodman for wittnessing to George. You are the one that lead George to Jesus. Oh my what a miracle. Thank you too for recording PEANUTTS song " lets all go down to the river, there's a man walking on the water. PEANUTT wittnessed to George so much, and prayed continously for him, but the time was not right at that time. The lord knew when touch his heart and to change his way of living and only the Lord knew what it would take to get his attention and i firmly believe the wreck at the bridge was his turning point. Thank God for that wreck. We love You George. If a sleeping man can hear, i hope you hear this message.
I grew up on George Jones and George Strait. The Georges mark my walk through this life! What a soundtrack it has been! God Bless him and he’s Blessed me!
So glad George came to a saving faith in Jesus, and found the "Calvary Road" to Heaven. Too many celebrities get ruined by the wealth and sinful ways of this passing world. Please be prepared, all who read this. Salvation is the BEST choice in a life-time!!! God bless.
He was King of Country Music back then still is today, true faithful Fans love him though years. Now in heaven Forever but someday see him again soon. God bless George Jones. Pure country music sound and church music. He gave his true Fans any kind music from his heart. Truly amazing story. Thank you. I know his music since was younger age but still am today. All great songs. Everyone love him. True artist and talented singer and songwriter and more. God bless George Jones. Fans all ages love him
I'VE ALWAYS LOVED YOU GEORGE AND I STILL DO ❤ I LISTEN TO YOUR MUSIC AT POINT EVERYDAY, USUALLY AT NIGHT OR EVENING ❤❤ I HOPE YOU'RE SINGING IN HEAVEN WHEN I GET THERE🙏🙏
"He Stopped Loving Her Today" is my favorite George Jones song. Most of the old time singers were raised in the church, but let popularity, fame, & money take away all Christian influences. I'm thankful he lived long enough to change his ways. John 14:6.
George Jones, John Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson are all heroes to me. Why? They all talk openly about their troubles with no sugar coating or blaming others, by doing this they help others ( like me) to realize that we ALL have problems and that anyone can recover.
This made me cry happy tears. I have been a George fan always and to see his life come full circle you know he was truly saved and rejoicing in heaven.. R.I.P. Forever George
I was born in 97… I’m a youngin but I’ll never forget my grandpa putting his cassette tapes in and play “he stopped loving her today” when I was about 6 back in 03. I was so memorized by possums voice. And now being a man today, I would always tell my buddies that I was born in the wrong era cause all I listen to is ol country songs, but I had 1 buddy tell me that I wasn’t born in the wrong era, It’s young cats like me who keep these old country songs and singers alive…. Rest in paradise possum 🙏🏽
I'm glad he was able to seek God and change his life at the end. I just kept waiting for him to give a clear salvation testimony, where he asked the Lord to save him from his sins. He came close to expressing it, but stopped just short. I hope he did in private when he had that little talk with Jesus, I just wish it was more clear. I love this man. There is no one who can fill his shoes. He cannot be imitated. He was the heart and soul of country music. I hope that he put all his faith and trust in Jesus and is singing in Heaven today. RIP George Jones.
@@jimbrent6037 that's so ridiculous. He said it was really her voice he'd been in love with. He stayed with Nancy for 30 years. That ought to be enough to show people who he loved, good grief!
George Jones was one of my very favorite country music singers and still is. I met his daughter Georgette Jones in person at The Pickin' Parlor here. It was awesome meeting his daughter.
First time to hear this interview and I am so happy to realize his mindset at this time in his life. He came full circle. Only he could do that Thanks to Nancy and the encouragement of his close friends.
Love those ole timers. They were natural, pure unspoilt, time when the world was young and God gave His best. He still does, but our hearts were purer then, full of the Joy's of life. It's nice to go back then. LOVE LOVE country and western. We all have our demons one way or the other. But we give thanks to our Redeemer, for He never leave us or forsake us. The devil us a liar.
Our life is like that if we don’t know Jesus my life was like that but until the gospel of the lord Jesus shines abroad in our hearts our life is in shambles I’m thankful that George found Jesus
I got to see him in concert in Clio Michigan. people were yelling for George Jones to take the Stage. they were yelling no show George. he came out on the stage and said OK Will you stop it .I’m here. he said I will play this one song. I know y’all want to hear it.and this one of my best songs and I’m gonna sing it for your right now. I stopped loving her today. just like it came off the album. RIP George there will never be another possum you were truly a legend rest in peace George
Who can not help but respect a man that doesn't brush his actions under the rug; or try and blame them on the way he was, or was not raised as a child. I wasn't raised around Country Music, but one has to give this legend his due, there will never be another one quite like him. What was his song, "Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes" for his many fans I don't think anyone can.
George has always been my favorite country singer_I'm a musician mostly Rock and Blues. I played in a band doing mostly Tom Petty, Aerosmith, Beatles etc. when on a Sunday at a lake near Houston we had done my favorite Ray Charles song-a few songs later after many rock songs we started Bartender Blues. Within 20 seconds, a possum came out from one side of the outdoor stage and scurried across in front of us all! Guitar player and I traded looks in amazement and then began to laugh out loud! That was about 15 years ago and we still laugh about it. Incidentally, I lived 5 miles from Saratoga, Texas -birthplace of George Jones for about 8 yrs back in the 90's.
He stopped loving Her Day was just Magnificent,When l first heard it my heard broke and l immediately thought of My Husband who died,l never got over Him,and l no in My Heart will be together again forever more🙏♥️🙏

Just because someone is not good for you doesn’t mean you ever stop loving them. Yes, Nancy possibly saved his life, but there are different kinds of love. I’m sure he loved Nancy, but a lot of people have someone that is the love of their life even though they can’t make it work.
@@yvonnewade9801 that's the honest truth .. I loved someone so deeply and honestly... I have never been able to be myself completely myself with anyone else.. unembarrassed or unashamed... but things just didn't work out.. we weren't good for each other.. but like you said I love him still to this day. I have been married to someone else for 26 yrs. And mostly happy.. he was what I needed in my life.. and I love him dearly. The best interview with George Jones I’ve ever seen. Thankful I got to meet him in 1996. Remember the first time I heard “Choices” what I felt is indescribable!
George was like a brother to me and my husband. We loved him as much as any family member we have. We knew him from the early 60s until his death but we didnt get to see him much after the early 80s. My husband became a christian during our close friendship with George and that was during the time George was messed up on cocaine and George resented my husband becoming a christian for we would no longer go to any clubs that he was playing and he always wanted us with him at all his concerts. I'm so thankful he finally woke up and turned his life over to Jesus. This interview with him is so wonderful!!!! To hear him confess his wrong doings and how he had mistreated people that loved him was a real blessing. My husband witnessed Jesus to him soooooo many times, but the time was just not yet right. It took George( he himself) having a serious talk with Jesus to turn his life around. Thank God for the wreck at the bridge for that made him see the light. It showed him that the lord meant business with him. It showed him that jesus did what he ask him to do. He didnt hit him in the head with a hammer, but let him hit a bridge that knocked some sense in his head. We miss him so much and still grieve every day over him being gone. The most comforting thought is knowing that he died a saved man . What a blessing. Thank you Jesus, you and you alone was his savior. George will always be loved by us. He did a lot of special things with us and it will never be forgotten. GEORGE RECORED AND RELEASED 73 songs my husband wrote for him. Tammy recorded 35 songs he wrote. We were also close to Tammy. We toured with them the whole time they were married. Then he married my sister Linda ( she was his 4th wife) . We were with them almost every day during their time together which was almost 8 years. So we knew him well. He recorded with my sister in law Melba Montgomery, they dated for quite a while and toured together for a few years. So I know the life of George Jones like the back of my hand. I knew all his family and all his children and are still very close to his two sons and Georgette. Let's all give Georgette a hand for her following in the footsteps of her mom and dad, and is making her mark in the music business.
