    George is such a classic. At the time, he mentioned to us that David Letterman had contacted him about being on The Late Show, but said he didn't think he would feel comfortable going there. I told him to do it ... he went on the show later in 2006.

    Thanks for posting Stew. George Harrison once said in an interview that George Jones had the greatest voice in American music. If Hank Williams is the King of country music, Jones is right after that’s for sure.

    Hey Stew- Was this in about 1996? I lived in Branson at the time and was at that show and was standing outside that bus. He was walking into the Grand Palace, pry right after this interview, and I got a pic of him waving.

      @@rockyfanatic6846 We shot this in 2006. George asked me at the end of the interview if he should take David Letterman's invitation to appear on The Late Show. He thought Letterman might just make fun of him. I told him, "DO it George ... Letterman is a big fan." He appeared on the show six months later, sang "He Stopped Loving Her Today", not a dry eye in the house!

      @banditdarville96 7 лет назад

      If you're talking about Tammy Wynette, she wasn't alive when this was filmed. She passed in 1998, and this was filmed in the early 2000's. Also if you didn't know, Tammy and George divorced in either 1975, or 76.

      Thanks for watching Ronald. The idea of the interview was to take George through his rig and highlight what he wanted to highlight. Sorry you didn't enjoy it. George was also enjoying some adult beverages at the time ... as you can imagine.

      George was quite open about that part of his life. He talked about it in depth in many of his interviews.
